Look how much he’s played in the last two years. He’ll be nothing short of a liability.
If Bruce, signed De Bruyne, Haaland and Ronaldo, you would find something to moan about. How about waiting until we have seen them play before you start slating players? Your hatred of Bruce clearly clouds your judgement. Sad really.

Bruce will not be gone until after the deadline window, then the new bloke whoever that may be will be left with this shockingly, inept bunch of wasters and will not get them anywhere near the playoffs.

Not at all unfair. I just said it was too soon to conclude that he had been dropped, rather than rested/rotated. I don't know SB's thinking/planning process and neither do you, so let's just wait and see.
Did he play the last game? Yes. Did he play today? No. That means he was dropped! Immaterial wheather he was rested/rotated or whatever else. He did not play = dropped.

Jees we are winning and winning well and there are still people moaning.

What’s happened to our fans  :-X
Did you expect anything different from some of these on here? Because i don't, everyone is allowed an opinion but this is ridiculous.

It wouldn't matter who comes in if he was sacked, no-one will turn these players around,  how many have tried already? Most of them are just not good enough but sadly we are stuck with them, and that is down to the people who decided to extent their contracts.

It certainly fits the bill for Middlesbrough.  I don't have a clue how it benefits us (strengthening a rival).

It's far from straight forward getting a CF better than what we have already (Grant & Robinson).
So you think Mowatt is that good? And he will strengthen boro? Not the Mowatt i saw last season won't. Grant misses to many chances, and Robinson same as Mowatt.

We lost a world class keeper in Sam Johnstone and replaced him with a very average lower league level keeper so we have got to accept the occasional clanger and mustn’t gwumble.
World class keeper? That's the best laugh i have had this year!!

OK.  Bruce needs to do the obvious and drop Livermore.  We need to be ruthless in selection and start winning.  Then we can fight for the title.
We would have won last night if we had someone who could put the ball in the net.

It was utter brilliance from Sarr…but they were in possession on the halfway line, Button was miles out of his area and to the left of goal, it was just a bizarre position to take up when we haven’t got possession. It can be brilliance as well as someone being culpable
I know what you are saying but how many times would that shot come off, no matter where the keeper is positioned? And if Grant knew where the net was it wouldn't matter because we would be 3-1 up!

Why do people on here always have to blame someone? That was just a quick bit of thinking and a well executed shot on target.  Either very lucky or brilliant, but not any individuals fault.

Some people will never be happy with change!!  This club has always stood for change, it’s part of our proud history, it’s what makes us honest in the mire of football.

I haven’t got time to discuss this issue with you, as I’m going to bed but will happily convey with you tomorrow, goodnight
Not an issue and nothing to discuss that's my view and i stand by it. And not all change is for the better.See Atomics post.

Nothing to do with our history, should be stopped now, it should never have been started. Nothing to do with racism nothing to do with football.

The area we have changed more dramatically than any other is midfield.

Incoming - Swift, Wallace, Yokuslu, plus Molumby signed permanently.

I can guarantee that players will have sought clarity with the Manager on playing time for the forthcoming season.

Although players are tied down on contracts, Bruce could've been very clear to certain players that they will experience minimal playing time.  I'm referring to Phillips, Livermore, Reach and seemingly Mowatt.

This could've helped facilitate a move as players would not feel wanted.

Instead, we had a different team sheet in the opening match.

Carrying too many players (surplus to requirements) is a burden a football club could do without.
And where is your guarantee? When i buy something and it's guaranteed i actually get it in my hand.you have no guarantee! As usual you are just guessing.

He can’t ‘cull the squad’ thanks to the fat contracts many of them are blessed with. And I doubt very much if SB would cave in to a couple of players in the way you suggested. I don’t think we will see Phillips start many games. Let’s wait and see eh?
Agree with you and its plain to see why he can't cull the squad.  But this chap thinks he knows it all, what goes on at the club, who should play who's fit who ain't fit etc,  don't know where he gets all is information from! I know he's allowed his opinion but on Bruce and Livermore his opinion is now a vendetta and getting really boring.

Absolute rubbish from Bruce today.  Phillips and Livermore?

Middlesbrough aren't very good.
Middlesbrough are a good side and will be in the mix at the end of the season. The two best players on the pitch today where Bruce signings!! Get rid of some of the dross that the other managers brought in and let Bruce get his players in and we will see the difference. But like with your hate for Livermore you won't except and defence for Bruce. Calling for the managers head after the first game of the season after a decent away draw? Dear, dear me.

You are still following Johnstone even now.

I have a vested interest in Livermore, he's playing at the club I support.

You are one of those who hammered Johnstone relentlessly.
Mate i don't get you or your comments, how am i still following Johnstone? Until i read your post mentioning him i had forgotten all about him! He no longer plays for the club i have supported home and away for over 50 years so i really couldn't care less one way or another.

Mate, in all facets of life some people have more intellect then others.  I don't have to prove myself to others, they can judge.

Obsessed with Johnstone WTF?  That's narcissism.  He's not even our player.
It was you who mentioned Johnstone being at a premier club! I just gave you my opinion. Not obsessed with Johnstone at all. Not like your obsession with Livermore now that's narcissism!! ::)

Wrong.  If you actually read my posts I praised Livermore highly for the opening 7 or 8 games last season but after that he was dross.

I've witnessed people hammer Johnstone match after match good, bad or average.

And that is a player now in the Premier League!

The poster declared he was willing to use a disparaging nickname from Only Fools and Horses. I dread to think his opinion about some of the less intellectual posters on here  :o
Maybe at a premier league club, but let's see how many games he gets and when he does get games how long until he messes up. And what makes you think you are more intellectual than other posters?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Racist abuse of HB fans
« on: July 25, 2022, 09:49:27 AM »
I think somebody already said, the thread title shouldn’t be “racist”, rather “xenophobic”.
It’s not exclusive to us , in general it feels like fan behaviour since COVID has taken a bad turn for the worse.
Probably due to a group of 17/18 year olds that missed 2 years of Wetherspoons £2 a pint and pent up with the frustration of being stuck at home…
The people I saw chanting yesterday were all around that age group, got their little patches on their sweatshirt arms…and if it’s aimed at others their age or lads that are up for it… that’s for them to fill their Saturdays….but yesterday I felt the need to go over to a young German lad(about 13) and his mom because our knobs were shouting and swearing at them….and you could see they were extremely frightened and despite me “breaking ranks” you know that they would all run if confronted with an adult.
When (if) they grow up, and have kids….maybe their mind will reflect on how useless they were at playing their part in society.

As for the stewards …..I honestly don’t know why we bother employing most of them.
I was a steward at the Albion for nearly 10 years as where a load of my mates. I packed in in 2005 some of my mates have only packed in since the pandemic. The difference between when i did it and now is that nearly all the stewards where Albion fans, and we knew how to handle it and we where properly trained. Now it is all contract stewards from outside security firms and they haven't got a clue! They are not trained not interested in football, so therefore don't understand a football supporters mentality, most of them are young and don't know haw to talk to people or defuse a situation. The same thing happened at the cricket as well all the good stewards replaced by these outside contractors, shame really.
