Ultimately just cover for Molumby really. Hopefully he wouldn’t have to do too much but add an option from the bench if needed.

Looks like they've suspended the season ticket of the person involved.

https://www.wba.co.uk/news/club-statement-season-ticket-holder-suspended

All they can do really. Appealing for witnesses so I’m assuming they currently only have Bacuna’s word for what was said right now. Hopefully those around him come forward and give their side of the story so it gets dealt with one way or another.

That’s the first account I’ve seen from anyone in the area so thanks for posting that as usually when something like this happens a few people who were around give their accounts but there’s been nothing on this other than your post so far.

So have WMP swung into action and charged anyone yet? Only ask as by the wording of their statement the other day it seemed as though the accused had already been found guilty. Can't be that hard identifying someone via video cam footage in an area renowned for sitting politely.

I saw their tweet about it and told them I think they left the word ‘alleged’ off their post, naughty of them really. If it did happen as Bacuna believes I hope they identify the person and punish them accordingly but if he misheard then I hope the authorities actually come out and tell us there is no case to answer as we have been sullied as a group of fans by many particularly online based on this allegation. I find it strange there have been no witnesses as to what was supposedly said or done yet you usually hear things pretty quickly but I haven’t heard anything yet.

I’m not accusing Bacuna of lying I just want to point that out and actually praise him for doing what he is supposed to and informing the officials and pointing the person out and then having the mentality to carry on after he believed he’d suffered racist abuse. All we can ask for is for the incident to be fully investigated and a conclusion publicly made either way.

Just read this on the Birmingham Mail and if true it is bloody disgusting.

When a group of disabled Blues fans and their carers made their way across the bottom of the Smethwick End, right in front of a clutch of Albion supporters, they were bombarded with abuse and plastic bottles were thrown in their direction.

There is no excuse at all for throwing anything at anyone. What I will say is if they are the same set of disabled supporters I saw both before and after the game outside then their carers were very mouthy and extremely hostile with no provocation at all from any of our fans that I could see. I have honestly never seen anything like it from a set of carers it was disgusting.

Think M’Vila is only being spoke about because someone suggested he was at the game yesterday

I’m not just suggesting it I saw him with my own two eyes before the game as he arrived in a car with a club staff member on the school car park and had a conversation with the driver the club hired to take him back to the airport half way through the second half. Same driver picked him up on Friday from the airport to take him to the training ground.

I’m not saying we’ll sign him 100% but we have definitely had talks.

If M’Vila signed I doubt he would be anything more than cover for Chalobah & Yokuslu due to Molumby being out long term. Couldn’t see us letting anyone leave.

Last time I went we used the Wetherspoons to get some food and then went on to a place called New York Tavern which was a nice mix of home and away fans all getting on well. Was probably 10 minute walk to the ground.

In the squad for USA March concacaf nations league games.

Could have done without being called up really. He’s done okay, his recent rate of scoring is decent if he can keep it going but his fitness is always going to be the main concern for him so a week or so of taking it easy would have helped him a little more than the travel and potential games with the USA.

Personally I’m praying he’ll be fit for our next game. Griffiths has come in and done okay but let’s be honest he couldn’t possibly have done any worse than Button. I just hope Palmer is as sharp as he was prior to his injury when he does return as our playoff hopes could well rely on it.

Seen some of the unpleasant clash footage recorded by our fans during yesterday’s game.

Despite finding football violence unnecessary myself, fair play to some of the Smethwick End lads for standing their ground against these Milwall hooligans who deliberately cause trouble.

I'm not condoning any violence or missile throwing at all but The one thing I will say about it is if some hadn't stood their ground with the lack of stewards and Police then those Millwall fans could have easily got in among our fans and caused absolute havoc with innocent people in the firing line so to speak. There needs to be a real inquest in to why there were no stewards or Police to be seen in that area from the clips I've seen when its only a fence keeping rival supporters apart with nothing to deter them from throwing missiles over the top or worse find a way through the fencing like they did yesterday.

Millwall fans don't seem to change. Sad that some of our fans seem to lower themselves down to their level, including blokes who look old enough to know better. Not sure where the police were, but certain clubs fans' are obviously higher risk than others. Hope the offenders get found and served with bans.

Well there is plenty of evidence after people got their phones out to film it, I imagine the club and Old Bill will be making good use of them. It really isn't nice to see at all but when you have a set of supporters separated by just a fence then there should have been some stewards and a Police presence i the area but they were nowhere to be seen on any of the clips.

He's one of those meh players. He's done okay this season but I still can't work out what his strengths are, nothing stand out he just appears bang average at best. I hope he can improve as the season goes by as he currently looks like an extremely poor signing.

I got around the ground for about 1:45pm and encountered very little traffic, the parking situation is beyond a joke though with a lot of car parks suddenly doubling their prices. Thankfully I work nearby so can use that car park for free but its a nightmare to get out of after the game.

It was an extremely difficult game to watch. First half I thought they completely outdid us with their shithousery and we got some luck getting the penalty late on, the less said about the actual spot kick the better. I know we had two of our first choice centre half options out injured but only Bartley looked comfortable and somehow Ajayi was worse than Kipre and nearly gifted them two goals. Ultimately we need to adapt when we come up against a side like this as there are plenty of them at this level. As bad a result as it feels it keeps us unbeaten and although I haven't looked at the table possibly top after results elsewhere.

Dear me....what support we give our players. Just hope none of our keepers read this thread.

You can't deny that some players have benefitted from not having a crowd while others have suffered due to it. I'm hoping he's confident enough after last season to carry on where he left off after a great season last term and that supporters realise they weren't helping him by getting on his back so quickly.

Will be very interesting to see how he gets on in front of crowds again, crumbled under the pressure in the past when fans were on his back. Will also be interesting to see if fans give him some slack if he makes an error after his performances for us last season.

I very much doubt that will ever be in existence again, they wont want large gatherings post covid if it can be avoided I would imagine, even if it is outdoors

The reason they originally closed it was due to costs so I doubt there is any other reason than money for it not reopening.

Alot of refs give keepers extra protection in those kind of crowded goalmouth situations.
I was more relieved he didn't spot O'Shea tugging at someone's shirt in our penalty area.

The disallowed goal was always going to happen. Before the corner was taken the referee stopped play to have a word about the tussling going on even though it was one of their players throwing himself to the ground after no contact from anyone. As soon as that happens 99 times out of 100 as soon as the corner comes in the referee gives a free kick to the defending side and to me that's exactly what happened there.

How has any club allegedly offered him wages when we haven't given permission to talk to anyone? Surely that's "tapping up" and illegal?

As wrong as it is its something that happens all the time, club representative lets the players agents know exactly what they are thinking of offering should they be able to do a deal with the club. Absolutely every club will be doing it including us.

Bloke needs to go to Specsavers if he thinks Sam has only had three good games in his time here.

Don't think he would have been too far wrong had it been his performances prior to the Premier League season. He was exceptional for us last season but when fans were allowed in grounds he wasn't very good at all, maybe that suggests supporters have more of an influence over player performances than we sometimes think.

From what I've read I'm not so sure there is anything else we could have done to keep him. Offering him the deal we have done is more than enough for someone in their breakout season. If he does end up leaving for a fee decided by tribunal in the summer then so be it, if he had no intention of signing a new deal then the fee Palace were initially willing to pay would have been a great deal for us and its a shame they wanted to restructure it after finding the extent of his knee problem.
