If we get promoted we should sign him permanently and will probably attempt to do so. If we are still in the championship however I doubt that we could get a deal done.
I agree with all on here, he’s been excellent in the main.
Hope so, he and Gibbs are proper full backs at last

First half he should have been booked early on and got away with a dangerous lunge, then he did get booked 15 minutes later and in-between was arguing with the ref a lot and Abraham. He does have a bit of an attitude and I’m not convinced by decision making defensively. That said second half he was spot on and was aggressive but stayed on his feet. He’s a good loan signing, not sure he’s quite good enough for the prem but a lot of our players fall into that category.

When I heard we were looking to sign him I knew,as I've said previously that he was a critical signing,I have friends who are Everton fans who really rate him highly, and he's proved it.
Look at our defensive record since his signing that back four looks good to me.
If we go up,sign him and he's young as well, top signing top player.

Did anyone spot the Villa fan giving Holgate the tosser sign as he went to collect the ball for a throw-in. Just seconds later he put in the cross for Hal's goal.

No chap, I can't say that I did.

May have to watch the highlights again now.

Damn, blast and bugger  ;) .
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

Sad for Holgate that it's ended for him here on that note. Props to him for stepping up first in the shootout, still only a young kid.

Doubt we will see him back here because he has the quality to step up to the Prem, and a class attitude too always giving it his all. Thanks Mason, and good luck for the future.

Think we had a chance to get him if we went up. Shame. All the best

Been one of the better signings this season. Been very impressed by him. As others say shame about the penalty miss, but takes some guts to step up and be the first taker on a night like that.

I think he may come back next season as imo he isn't ready for the Premier league yet.

I had a feeling he would take a pen, just not that badly. But showed guts to take it.

I don't blame him or anyone else who misses in a penalty shootout. It's a lottery and we were knackered.

Hope he comes back next season.

He and Gibbs were blowing at the end of the game and I'm not surprised. As you said showed his bottle. I would sign him next year if it were possible.
O Albion we love you

They rate him very highly at Everton. I thought the odds would be slim if we went up let alone staying down. Thanks for your work and effort Mason. He left everything on the pitch for me he was man of the match

I'm not so sure he is highly rated at Everton, Wouldn't be surprised to see Everton sign another right back who would be PL ready. As good as he has been for us he may not look so comfortable stepping up in the Premier League.

I think he has been a breath of fresh air and would love to see him return somehow. Never shirks anything and the willingness to take first penalty proves that point.

They love him at Everton. He was sent on loan to develop to benefit them. I would expect him to be around their squad next season.

He's been decent but nothing exceptional. His touch isn't great, his delivery is often very poor but he is fully committed and defensively sound.

He's a good top Championship right back but you can see why he's not established himself in the Premier League.

Think he’s largely been excellent especially defensively which being a RB is always handy in this day an age

Hope we can get him for another season.
Fits the bill, young, athletic, likes a tackle and has a bit of arrogance about him.

He's been solid since coming in.

I like the bit of arrogance he has and he's got that little bit of a nasty streak in him which the fans will love.

Be more than happy to see him come back here if the club could make it happen. I think Mason would be open to a return if his game time is limited at Everton.

Yes hopefully he is up for it. If another seaosn or 2 i think he will improve into a PL quality defender, dont think he's there just yet but not far off. Just needs regular footy.

So true, he has exactly the right amount of arrogance, nastiness and commitment, mixed with a level headedness that more players should have. His pre match and post match appreciation applause to the fans is brilliant. I'd go as far as saying he's the best RB we've had.
