Just watched the interview with Patel on the OS.

Can anyone explain in more detail his answer to the question about the MSD loans. It sounds like he is still planning for the club to pay them back to MSD, not the new owners. Which I thought would be the plan?

I took it that the MSD loans remain in place but on renegotiated terms .

Patel follows some people on X who are all data driven wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them or people associated to them employed by us in some capacity . Whilst the first team is doing well there are a lot of other areas that seem slack and need a rethink or a kick up the backside .

I was put on the spot. I also believe it’s close but I’d never commit to timelines

Seems to be a lot of contrasting timescales some saying this week . I was told February on Saturday .

Maybe there are many like me who would prefer the timing to be better.

I'll look forward to the game to a degree and I get lots of fans being excited, but from a selfish point of view, I like the record we have over them and with them being on a bit of a roll at the moment, plus our squad being decimated by injury, international call ups and loan recalls, I'd have just preferred we drew them when possibly on an upward trajectory is all.

I’m with you on this Baggies

I dont see anything in him personally, bit of a headless chicken in the spells that I have seen. He shows little game instelligence in my opinion. With little money for extended contracts I dont see him earning one.

Well Leicester and a couple of other clubs sniffing around would disagree .

Had a trip down memory lane last night and watched the highlights of the Swansea game  Ian had a very good game that night I had forgot he had a big hand in the first goal bringing the ball down and playing the ball forward from which we went on and scored . A rare moment of composure and brains in what was a fast and furious start to the game .

Rest in peace Ian and thank you for the memories .

The starting 11 wasn't exactly defensive; it was just that we a lot of players putting in a poor performance and Huddersfield to their credit were quite progressive, no sign of them trying to play hoof ball and shut up shop. They took the game to us when they could.

Their approach took me by surprise i was expecting them to park the bus given they got thumped last week but they actually played with belief and took the game to us at the right times as you say .

Absolutely this, you've nailed it mate. I listened to Adrian Goldberg's podcast yesterday and he for one doesn't get it.

Because of the types of players they are and the qualities they possess Yokuslu and Molumby are absolutely integral to our team. Even if they have a bad game it's still very noticeably different when they are not there and we are weaker for it.

Molumby didn't have a great game yesterday, Okay was a bit better, but as soon as one of them comes off we become far more vulnerable. That isn't a one off, it's a consistent thing.

Thank you Atomic , even a shift in five or ten yards of space that yok would normally occupy can make a difference . I had alarm bells when it was rumoured he was for sale last week , you can’t replace his positional qualities easily particularly with the players we currently have .

If we agree that Mulumby and Yokuslu are our best 2 centre mids
Would you say it’s fair to take them off and just leave chalobah in there on his own ?

He ain’t fantastic but he was stitched up yesterday.

He doesn’t have the same skill sets as yokoslu in a positional sense , even when yok is having an off day as he did yesterday he still occupies positions in front of the back four that give us our shape , we then take him off and expect chalobah to do the same job . I noticed at Burton pre season runners weee coming off chalobah and his effort to get back was minimal . Yet again the penny didn’t drop with our recruitment team that the lad has spent a lot of time out on loan yet he’s still available there is a reason for this . Why we then dish out an 18 month contract lord knows .

We are selling a young promising player to pay the wages of some utterly useless veterans. I was nearly certain we would get here at some point this summer it does not make it anymore palatable.

It is not a strategic choice it is hobson's choice made inevitable by nearly a decades worth of short term fixes, lurching from one ill considered deal to the next.

This deal does not generate much by the way of cash so there isn't a shiny new signing on their way off the back of this anId even if there is I simply don't care.

I can see some full on meltdowns on the horizon we are in scraping the barrel territory.
I have zero expectation for incoming players and the season ahead .

Desperate times, the only way we were going to bring anybody in was by selling first we can only hope the club have someone lined up who is half-decent.

Seen us linked with Jamie Patterson from Swansea , that’s something to look forward to .

What do you suggest then? Boot it forward? Then you'd be moaning the football is rubbish to watch, like a lot did under Ismael.

My point is a general one and an observation of the players he has at his disposal .  I’m happy with a point personally and we move onto next week .

I understand the shift in football tactics the passing from the back being the in thing however clubs like Man City etc have the resources to choo , change, and adapt . We are dealing with centre halves who we signed from Rotherham , Wigan and a player released by Stoke they simply haven’t got the skill set required to carry out the managers requirements on a consistent basis they just aren’t capable .

What I think could happen is this Warmfront guy Alex Hearn will be joining up with some others unsuitables (potentially like Farnell & Kashkashy) to use this to get equity of share in return for ripping up loan agreement.

Farnell and Kashkashy win as they get in through back door. No Fit and proper persons test either as it’s below minimum stake

Hearn wins as he gets bigger share

Lai wins as loan gets repaying

Only people that lose is the club as that £2m long gone.

We have worked hard to prove this but we can’t get it fully verified, but it’s that important I’m telling you folks. I can’t publicly as I can’t risk a libel case. But that’s what I think could happen.

Which is why we tried to do something yesterday

Thank you this is greatly appreciated.

Agreed but the club arn’t just living within its means. They’ve also got to pay a fat loan with high interest back.

We could be the first club to go that actually hasn’t spent beyond’s it’s means and simply down to poor management.

I’d feel slightly better about the situation if we’d have bought top players in the last few years and won a cup or two but we’ve not even got that as an excuse.

I can’t begin to understand the situation and only base my opinion on the limited facts around.

So my question is, how serious is the situation and do my worries have some legitimacy to them?

The situation is very serious I’m only going off the same information as you but informed people seem to be suggesting the situation has got worse .

Perhaps the poster Sedgley Albion can advise further .

Couldn't agree more with you.

I've gone into this season with no expectations of a top 6 finish (I have no desire to be promoted back to the toxic greed league regardless)

If the club avoids relegation, avoids administration and gives me some good entertaining matches along the way to watch win or lose then I will consider this to be as good a result as I could reasonably hope for.

If what I fear will happen in that fans start calling for Corberans head due to a (in my view) bizarre and unfounded notion that we should be in the top 6 this season, i'll be pretty disheartened

First port of call for me is to avoid relegation and administrator that is all I ask . Anything other than that is a bonus.

For me the sending off of CC today summed it all up he is a very determined guy and intense but sometimes it doesn’t do any harm to take a step back and let it flow , I understand the style of play he wants but some of these players are simply not good enough and cannot be trusted .

Rob Gurney interviews CC after game.

CC said timing of sale not ideal but no deal done as yet. CC wants clarification from our god honest execs over who he will and won't have available in the squad for the season.

So it begins.

He’s been working on a particular style of play ie passing it out from the back which Palmer has been working on all pre season and then he has the rug pulled a week before the season starts , some of his comments indicate he is starting to lose a grip on what is happening behind the scenes . As you say so it begins .

Are the Vile completely incapable of bringing through their own players? Once again it makes a mockery of our academy, that we bring them through and as soon as they show any promise they are gone!!

For me any promise Richards had was a couple of years back , a change of scenery might do him the world of good perhaps he was very comfortable here but wherever he ends up  he would need to exert far more influence on games than I’ve seen in recent months . Not surprised we let him go.

I think Kelly's injury is long term and we will be lucky (??) to see him back before Christmas. I don't think the sales have finished.  Again the questions will only be answered when the window closes and we see a competitive line up from Carlos.

Today we sold our best defender one of the few players we had who was an age where they might improve and signed another short term fix. It pretty much encapsulates the last decade of decline.

Yet I have pretty much stopped worrying about the team we put out on the pitch everything is now revolves around financial survival.

I said this to a work colleague for me now it is about preservation of the football club so there is still a club in the short and long term .

So the test for Rico was 10 minutes game time ? Clearly a decision has been made so be it but he doesn't deserve the 'out of his depth' tag based on a 10 minute debut.

I’ve seen Richards play a number of times recently and I haven’t seen anything  in him to suggest he’s worth keeping . He might aswell have come and stood next to me when we played Stourbridge in the cup such was his involvement in the game . A change of scenery might do him good.

Have to agree with this 100%. And yet there are those who, for some inexplicable reason, still seem to think he is doing a decent job under difficult circumstances

I agree too and f it wasnt for Carlos Corberan this club would be amateur hour and then some i am seeing local non league teams more switched on in relation to the coming months than this lot.

The problem today was Sunderland made early substitutions bringing fresh legs on as our as our team naturally tired.
If we had made earlier subs Sunderland would not have such an advantage in fitness and it is  beyond my understanding to comprehend our first sub was Albrighton.
It has been suggested that this was to accomodate Wallace's switch to the left but Wallace has not made a worthwhile contribution since Albrighton joined us.

As I left the stadium today I thought back to the days of Mike Phelan , Andy Townsend etc I’m so disappointed with what Albrighton has bought to the party, he can’t even run within minutes of coming on he was knackered , I realise his age is against him but to not even be fresh as a substitute takes some explaining .

Great
But why don’t we see it then?

Because he is trying to be innovative and get the best out of a bunch of over rated players who aren’t good enough and who continually get a free pass despite them seeing off a number of managers in recent years . There is only so much any coach can do with this lot .

It’s been done to death on this post about the passing around at the back , I also think it’s being done to allow our players to recover shape for the next phase of play . What I feel our players have got to learn is when to do it and when to recognise the moment to increase the tempo of it . We don’t have a player with outstanding pace which doesn’t help either .On Saturday diangana despite his overall lack of form would have been ideal as his presence would have forced millwall to think differently as they would have had to double up on him as many teams have done leaving spaces for our other players  to move into .
