Even though i lived in Norwich for 6 months, and was driving back from Norfolk this morning after the Big Weekend, i don't feel any great affinity for the club. They'll make a good go of it and stay up i reckon, but i wanted Boro' to go up for a change, shame they have been woeful!

Not sure if there is a Rob Kelly thread already, if so perhaps the Mods can move this message to it.

It appears that Rob Kelly has been appointed Assistant Manger to Uwe Rosler at Leeds United.

Getting out of the Championship will be a nightmare next season, so many strong sides!

It will certainly be very competitive again - can't see there being a stand-out side there though...possibly Hull but there could be a few comings and goings there. How will Burnley do without Ings and probably Trippier ? Can't see QPR making it ...again comings and goings.

It's just a crazy league...from the three that went down, only Norwich returned and Fulham nearly got relegated. After signing McCormack (who actually did quite well for them) they surprisingly struggled.
Then there was Wigan who looked excellent under Rosler last year and went out in the play-offs, who got relegated to league one!

I'm sure there will be a few shocks, possibly MK Dons could be up there, at least one of the relegated teams will be then you can bet the likes of Boro, Derby et al will all be near the play-offs.

See McClaren and Nigel Clough both sacked from their respective clubs.
I can see McClaren turning up in the Prem quite early next season. Maybe a replacement for Sam?

I think Bristol City may surprise a few for the forthcoming season. Could really be any of about ten clubs that could go up. If Burnley lose Ings I think it will be tough for them to come straight back up. I reckon Hull might be the favorites to go straight back up out of three.

The Championship is always so hard to predict and is in truth far more exciting than the prem. I fear the Dingles will be in with a decent shout next season

Could be right about Bristol City - they have ambitious owners these days...not billionaires but seem prepared to invest.

I'm surprised to see Brentford installed as bookies favourites for the title next season I must admit. It really is impossible to call. You could easily make a case for over half of the teams in the league to get promoted! Yet again, I can see the Championship being the most closely fought, entertaining and competitive of all four divisions. It's a sign of the toughness of that league that the Blues are 3rd favourites to go down!

Surprised by Brentford being favourites.

I'm expecting them to drop without Warburton. Quite a shame how its ended for him really - granted the owners have been willing to back him but Warburton has put in place the foundations for their current success.

He'll be highly sought after I imagine but I'm unsure on whether he will be a success elsewhere - he had the ability to lay the foundations at Brentford under Rosler, allowing himself to take advantage when he got the job permanently. Whether he gets the time to build at his new club with the pressure of the results business we're in remains to be seen.

I was reading a great article the other day on his influence in academy football - he was the architect of the next gen series which ended up including some of the powerweights of European football. He was an academy coach throughout his time at Watford and ended up signing many of his products when he finally moved to Brentford.

I know we looked at him to replace Dan Ashworth but it was quite a good job we didn't in the end - he said he was arguing with Uwe Rosler every day  :D

I think Warburton's a pretty switched on bloke and he's also a positive personality who is likely to well liked by his players. Will be interesting to watch his progress and see where he ends up...Fulham ? Sheff Utd ? Cardiff ?

I think the Dingles will be mid table at best, just look at the sides in with a good shout, Fulham, Hull, Burnley, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Derby, Forest, Brentford, Cardiff. All of those will be in with a good shout plus a few more.

He's turned Sheffield United down apparently.

He would have been mental to take that job.

A club having to cut their budgets (again) because they are now entering their 5th season in league one.

Warburton can afford to hang around and wait for an attractive proposition to appear.
