How come we booed Shane Long? Did he push to leave us? I can't remember the situation now.

I still think there are things to be positive about.
• We managed to keep Evans. His absence in the last two games has been obvious and we need our captain back
• Greg has started to look like the player we were expecting. Yesterday our midfield looked lethargic and was missing his energy.
• We have a class striker in Sturidge. He showed glimpses of his qualities yesterday and linked up well at times and showed good movement, he's going to need a couple of games to get his confidence and sharpness back but he's clearly a talented player and a huge improvement on Kanu. Although Phillips I thought had a poor game yesterday he and Sturridge look like they could have a good understanding.
• Players to come back. Gibbs, again was missed yesterday and is much better than Nyom. Chadli when he's back might just be the player to spot those Sturidge's runs and chip in with some goals.
• Rodriguez looks twice the player he was at the start of the season.
• Rondon got a much needed goal yesterday and has been looking better under Pardew as Pulis ruined him in my opinion.
• Still 12 games left

Gutted with this news! Two of my favourite current players in Chadli and Evans almost certainly leaving. I could come to terms with Chadli leaving as I feel he could be replaced but Evans is a cut above, I would say maybe the best centre back in the league. There's not many players who are so composed from the back and able to pass it out of defence like him and can't see us getting a player like him especially in the next few days. I thought last seasons transfer window was bad by not recruiting enough but this window looks to be the worst yet losing our best players so late on and no news of any incoming

Starting to think Pulis doesn't want to finish as high as 8th. He probably thinks that's as high as he will ever get us and doesn't leave him any room to improve us, giving him a hard time next season when we are fighting for survival. Also he wants the owners to invest into his transfer plans. If the team are doing well they might not see the piont in spending big

I image that if its true that a football agent has dealings in running the wolves they will become a selling club. An agent will only want to nurture any decent players he gets in to sell for top money then take a nice cut from their fee and salary.

Just read somewhere that they are willing to invest 30million over the next 2 years. Not that much in today's game. And when they say that it doesn't mean in the team could be spent in other areas

Swap him for Townsend plus 15 million, get Phillips and Austin

I think JP will keep him and then offer him a 50k per week contract with a £30 million buy out clause. That way saido gets the money he would have got at Spurs and a potential move in the next window if he stays focussed and plays well. And there will be no messing around with bids. Would be similar to the benteke deal.

Best time to play the big teams is the start of the season I always think, so I see a shock win for us
2-0 lambert, berahino

If he goes we need someone similar to replace him or we will be horrible to watch next season. Someone who can get you off your seat but do it more regular than Sess. If Sess could do what he's capable of every week he'd be one of the best.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Team for next season
« on: April 08, 2015, 03:38:39 PM »
What would be everyone's ideal team for next season? With new players coming in and out, mine would be

Richards.  Van dijk.  Lescott. Mings

Phillips. Fletcher morrison. Sako.

      Berahino   Deeney

if VA is not fit then I would play Sessignon and Macmannaman up front instruct players to keep it on the floor and tell them to take on the defenders at every opportunity, not sure how it will go but against a struggling side it might be worth a shot , one thing we dont want is for TP to chance a not fully fit BI or SB
think they would get us some dangerous free kicks on the break, maybe even a penalty if not goals

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Striker Situation
« on: March 01, 2015, 09:32:51 AM »
I'd play Gardner up front. He has a great shot on him, is according to stats our fastest player and loves to score against the Villa. He'd put a great shift in.

Albion Matchday Forum / Pubs in Worcester

Is there any pubs in Worcester that show live albion games? Catching the train in for a few drinks but would like to swing by a pub showing the sunderland game if possible.

I think he just works with his strengths. At Stoke they were a big team with a good thrower and he played on that directness and followed it through, but at palace he had pace so played a counter attacking game. I'm not sure whats he's got at the Albion but he's seems to be finding the best out of them from yesterday's results as they all played brilliant.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Stadium Expansion
« on: February 11, 2015, 03:13:01 PM »
If Villa go down, wolves miss out on promotion and we manage to stay up, which is a good possibility, we should take full advantage of being the only club in the West Midlands to be competing in the Best league in the World. This means increasing the capacity and promoting ourselves to the younger generation. Make going to the Albion more fun. Safe standing would encourage this by improving the atmosphere. Attractive football would help too but can't see us getting that for a while now  ;)

Get 15 million plus Townsend off spurs and go buy Ings and get Michu on loan before palace do

Stoke 3-1 Albion. Berahino fgs

What's happend to Mulumbu? That game was crying out for him instead of morrison. I know he can give silly free kicks away (which Morrison was doing anyway) but he retains the ball well and plays with passion. Think him and Gardner should be the midfield

Albion Matchday Forum / Pubs showing the game

I've got to head into brum to the Xmas market tomorrow so I was hoping I could catch the game in a nearby pub or bar. does anyone know where I might catch it in the city centre or by the market itself?

Martin Jol for me. He knows the league well has done well abroad, is an ex Baggie and will commands respect as he's not a nobody like we normally go for who let the old boys dictate.

General Football & Sports / Re: Alan Irvine sacked by Albion
« on: December 03, 2014, 05:43:05 PM »
Irvine should stick to what he's good at which is teaching the basics to kids. He is way out of his depth even in the championship, he just doesn't have the personality or the know how to drag us out of this mess and if we don't get rid now we will continue to drop down the league whilst Irvine stands there with his hands in his pockets wondering what plan B was. I almost feel sorry for him looking so lost but then I remember how much he's getting paid to make bad decisions.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Best and worst loans
« on: November 15, 2014, 08:08:44 PM »
Best obviously Lukaku. Fortune came in and did well under Mowbray. Also going back some time, Graham Fenton made a name for himself here. Worst id say Ryan Donk was pretty poor and Martin Fulop. Not sure if he was a loan or a signing but that game against Arsenal was the worst goalkeeping I have ever witnessed. At the time I was convinced he'd took a back hander so Arsenal Could get into champions league.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Victor Anichebe
« on: October 25, 2014, 12:08:39 PM »
Should have kept Fortune in my opinion. Did all the holding up play but with the benefits of being faster score and assist more and could stay on his feet. Would have saved 6 million
