Last Match Forum - 06/04 Stoke City (A) / Re: After Match Debate
« on: April 06, 2024, 06:45:39 PM »
I thought the Albion were poor throughout, other than the way they took the goals. Stoke looked the better team with their no. 22 dominating the game. Good job they can’t score! Their crowd certainly got behind them and created a good atmosphere, something lacking at the Hawthorns recently. Next two home games on paper should give us the points we need for the playoffs.

Two scuffles? The whole episode was unsavoury. Fans coming from all stands to join in or get it on their phones. Mindless thugs who have certainly tarnished the image of the club.

Boxing day 1967. Albion beat Man City 3 - 2 in the old first division. Dad took me into Woodman Corner. Just looked....there were 45000 there! All I remember is Dad going ape whenever we scored, and how green the grass was. And how far they could kick the ball!
Remember that. They used to play teams back to back over the festive season. We beat them 2-0 at Maine Road.

My first was Everton 1967. Won 1-0. Sat on the benches in the old Halfords Lane

Any parallel to Colchester 1968. We were going out. Back to the shrine 4-0 and the rest is history 🤞

I’ve renewed my old seat and still received a new card! So still no consistency

Old ones I asked at the ticket office yesterday. Kids get new ones.
I'm not a kid.....although I am able to say I saw some of the best Albion sides. What is obvious, there appears to be no consistency

None left on the website but I've just got one by phone, I normally go on the train or coach but having to drive tonight, any tips for parking?
On A50 passed the ground to island. turn left then immediately left off slip road. You come to a small island. Straight over and people park up on grass verges. 3-4 minute walk to ground

Another totally inept performance. Trouble is who else have we got? And I just can’t see the Gayle thing happening

He was hopeless. Can’t fault his effort but no skill, touch poor and couldn’t hit a barn door. He definitely isn’t the answer

Looks like we're going to be linked with every current and ex WHU player now.

i hope it is SB now and he has the backing to start a re-build that will enable us to at least challenge for promotion.

that certainly applies to recent history but I'm sure we've spent something like 90 seasons in the top flight.
81 apparently in the all time list (Everton & Villa head the list, Wolves 64)

How many on here had actually heard of BL before the link? Yet it seems he's thought of of the best candidate?

Is there anything some of our fans actually like about our club?
Reading some of the stuff on here it does make you wonder

We used to be a big club. Now thanks to the like of Peace we are the smallest club in the W Mids apart from Walsall.
We act small, have small stadium and ambitions, and our fans mostly happy clappers who are grateful that we sit at the top table every few decades.
A bit harsh. Villa will always be the bigger club because of their potential fan base and their history. Wolves; they now have the potential and base to be up there but things go in cycles so who knows. Blues.......!?? As far as sitting at the top table every few decades have a look at our history of promotion and relegation. Nothing is different.

Would I prefer Neil to Shan? Yes.

Does the prospect of appointing him give me an erection? No.
That's reassuring

Was a definite penalty by the way, foul was inside the box, tried to jump the challenge (just outside the box) but was clipped by a raised leg inside the box.
think you might be the only one that thinks that
