Feel sorry for Ben Cisse, dropped an absolute clanger yesterday which cost them a point but the pitch was horrible. Sounds like he played well apart from that.

Exactly right KYA and that also contributes to my thinking it was somewhat ‘odd’ that we signed him in the first place if he was not suited to our playing system. Several posters on here have suggested we change our playing strategy to suit Armstrong who will be leaving us in a couple of months which, in my opinion would be crazy - much better to try either Lankshear, Maja and/or Dike or a combination of those that would suit our style of play.

What is our style of play? I'm still not sure and it seems a few others arent.

If we hadn't of signed him we would have been left with a semi fit Dike who we don't know when he will be able to play long periods of time or if he is going to anywhere near the level of what he was prior, Lankshear who although try's hard he looks a bit raw and Devante Cole who we haven't seen in months. The Maja injury changed everything and we still don't know when he is going to be back, i find the radio silence around his injury quite odd in fairness.

We have signed probably one of the most prolific strikers this league has seen in recent years who got 24 goals last year so i don't think its crazy if I'm honest to maybe change the way we are playing to suit him. Granted he should have done better with a few chances but he has proven he can score big goals when it matters, we're going to need him between now and the end of the season.

He definitely frustrated me yesterday, at the same time he was our biggest threat.

This sums up how i felt. I do get annoyed sometimes with his decision making but again yesterday i thought at times he was our only threat and certainly did more than the others which is why he would always be in my starting 11.

I'm clearly seeing a different player to many.  He looks fit and committed and as we experienced last year he's a good finisher. I think he's in the Dwight Gayle category, lethal in the Championship and not quite an EPL player.

In summary; if we make the playoffs, I'd be amazed if he wasn't a key contributor.

I share the same opinion as you. Scored a pretty important goal against Sheffield Wednesday and then scored the winner against QPR to get us 3 points, pretty key contributions.

Hasn't done enough to warrant starting every game, he's had a fair crack and failed.

While he might be generally decent at most things at this level he's got too many clangers in him.

Josh in for next game please Tony.

Completely agree with this. My belief is that Griffiths has the higher ceiling and i'd rather him start playing now with one eye looking towards next season where he should be our number 1.

Based on how results went tonight that was a really good point, i just can't help be annoyed at that Wildsmith error because they didn't really look like scoring at all.

Diakite playing well.

Considering it's not his natural position he looks really confident, a nice interception just before the AA chance.

A brilliant free kick to get us the lead then he does that. Stop the experiment and get JG in asap.

Yesterday at one point i remember going mad at Jayson for shouting at a player on the floor whilst on a yellow but I just can't help but love how he plays with his heart on his sleeve. Does he annoy me sometimes with playing so close to the edge? Yes, but then he will run himself in to the ground and drag us up the pitch just like he did yesterday and i go back to realising why he's probably my favourite player.

I can't remember who i saw write this on twitter so i apologise but i saw a post not long ago about we as fans put in a lot of miles to watch WBA, whether that be home or away and he will always try his hardest and match that effort to make it worthwhile.

Reasonably happy with the prices and will renew asap. Also i may be in the minority but the kids for a quid allows my lad to have one so will be taking that option up again.

Would be fairly happy if we can keep the goals down to 3 based on how they played last night, not feeling optimistic.

Bristol City are probably the worst side i've seen at the Hawthorns this year along with Portsmouth, i remember at the time a lot were saying it too.

I voted Furlong on the basis that Holgate will be able to play there once we have Bartley and Ajayi as an option at centre back.

Furlong has been absolutely woeful since the new contract and needs a serious kick up the backside.

I said at the start of the season i thought he was one of our most improved players but since signing that contract i don't know what has happened. I really dont like Holgate at centre back but wouldn't be against giving him a go at right back when were back to full strength in defence.

Hoping with a week on the training pitch we see an improvement. They have improved since Rowett was appointed, even got a win away at the mighty Millwall. Hopefully we see the return of Fellows and Johnston to the starting 11 and Armstrong down the middle. Defensively i'm not sure what i'd do but i would maybe try a back 4 of Furlong, Holgate, Ajayi and Heggem.

Leeds look the real deal this season, can see them winning the league.

This is the worst the league has been for as long as I can remember which shows as we haven’t been great for a while and we’re still 6th. Anything other than playoffs is a complete failure with this squad and although kind of like last year where I didn’t expect to win it, you never know what can happen.

And people on here were turning their noses up at him when it was suggested we go for him.

This forum and some of the opinions make me smile

I remember at the time where he was spoke about on here and my exact words were;

'Won a European trophy in 2023, not bad for a dinosaur. If there is any chance that it is affordable and he is interested, then he would easily be my first choice.'

He has turned them right around when they looked awful under Dyche.

Brilliant to see him back on the pitch today, the only positive. Did anyone else think he has lost a bit of weight?

It all seems shambolic, little or no real analysis of what the match requires before kick off and certainly no idea how to effectively use subs. Guys played out of position and when that fails wholesale substitution and further chaos.
Our defensive system has gone out of the window, I know it’s early days yet but I have a very uneasy feeling about this. It seems throwing out the baby with the bath water is our chosen tactic. It all seems very Bruce- like to me, make enough changes in the hope that something will work.

I agree, i genuinely feel like the subs have little to no thought in them. I looked at today's bench and you could argue that's the strongest we have had all season yet we never even looked like winning that game.

Moving forward if we're going to stand any chance then Fellows and Johnston have to start every game for me. If they are ineffective then we can bring them off but we are way more dangerous with them on the pitch. As others have said as well the back 4 for me when fit and not suspended should be Furlong, Bartley, Ajayi, Heggem (although i think you can argue Furlong since signing his contract has regressed). I also wonder how many games it's going to take him to realise you cant rely on some of these players.

TM gave me my best time supporting WBA in my lifetime and i really hate criticising him at all but at the moment i am worried about how we're setting up and the personnel being picked.

I really hope the experiment of playing one of the best strikers in the league on the left wing ends soon.

Rubbish yet again. To have that quality starting and on the bench and not even have a shot on target in the second half is embarrassing. Their centre back could have easily had a hat trick today. Plymouth put 5 past these last game and we made them look brilliant.

And this is our problem.  We have Swift on, Fellows on, Dike on, Grant on - like people were asking - and we've lost the entire midfield\attacking battle.  We've barely had a kick since.

I don't think we have had a kick all game if i'm honest, really poor performance again.

                      Wildsmith
         Holgate.    Ajayi.     Heggem

Fellows.   Price. Diakite Molumby  styles

                Armstrong
                            Lankshear

That gives you energy everywhere
Good coverage for the 3 at the back
Both of the loanees as these two together should rip this league and crucially no chance of hooking Fellows and Johnstone at the same time
Very fluid and capable of transitioning to a 442 or 451 during the game

Love that team. Big game for us tomorrow, they should be low on confidence after getting smashed midweek so we need to take advantage. I just hope he is brave with the team selection.
