There is a little bit of noise that the Dingles have Corberan on their potential list of replacements for the Might Gary O’Neil…
If they officially approached that would be very interesting .

I watched the first half of their game against Everton and i'll say it quietly, he would probably be a good fit for them. Going forward they clearly have no issues, Cunha could play for any team in that league in my opinion and he would certainly make them harder to beat. One thing i would say is my two best mates are Wolves fans and have been unhappy with the increase in tickets this season, would their fans be willing to pay that high of amount to watch the style of football that he would play?

I have asked and this journalist apparently got a few Wolves things correct before, i'm hoping that this time he has got it wrong.

Sorry but that's absolute rubbish unless we appoint an absolute idiot. This squad should be finishing top six.

It should be finishing top 6, and we have been pretty much there for what seemed like all of last season and the majority of this season which is why my opinion is changing at the moment is a none starter. On the other hand i am not like others who seem to think we're not allowed the criticise him. The line up at Preston i understood due to their height and the aerial duels won but the subs i thought to put it bluntly were a bit of a joke. I also still can't get over him not bringing on Cole instead of Wallace to play upfront.

If reports are true about how close we are to the line of breaching PSR then paying off a manager is the last thing we need to be doing. Someone may correct me if i'm wrong but it seems like we would have to sell an asset to fund getting rid of him and his coaching staff, i wonder how many would let for example Fellows go if it meant a new head coach?

You can see he has changed it in recent weeks with the shape and some of the draws in isolation are good results but Preston along with Oxford and Blackburn off the top of my head were games where we really should be putting teams to the sword and we just didn't and i'm not sure whether thats down to the tactics, the players or a bit of both. He's never going to be an exciting manager who plays free flowing football and that for some fans will never be good enough as football is entertainment and when you are not winning, issues arise.

Regardless of my thoughts results have to improve quickly. I'm not sure what the record was under Bruce but if he got 12 points from 12 games then i think the entire fan base would be up in arms. He has money in the bank with me and probably other fans but that is dwindling.

Andy Johnson on commentary described this result like a win to him, i don't agree at all. We didn't even try to win in my opinion, we were playing Sunderland not Arsenal.

If Bartley isn't fit to play i would go something like;

                      Palmer

          Diakate Holgate Heggem

Fellows                                    Styles

                 Molumby Mowatt

       Johnston                   Grant

                     Maja

If Bartley is fit enough to play i'd go similar to what we did at Norwich just with Holgate at right back and Bartley in the middle, with the rest of the team remaining the same. I've heard a lot of positive things about Nelson, i'm just not sure throwing him in at a packed SOL is the best idea but i could be wrong.

Does this mean i am ITK? Maybe I should add this in my twitter bio  ;D

People keep saying we have one of the best squads in the division so surely those he brought on yesterday should have improved it, or do we actually not have a great squad? Which one is it because we can't have both. I would bet my house on the fact that if he didn't make any subs yesterday and we conceded people would be moaning, he can't win.

The only thing that frustrates me at times is the same players coming on but i have to accept i don't see these players every day to make a decision whether or not they deserve to be playing but he does, so i trust his decision making over mine.

I know he scored an own goal but that tackle he did to stop Hernandez from making it 3-2 was absolutely brilliant, i was convinced it was a goal. I've said it before in this thread, my favourite player by miles and i wouldn't be surprised if he is rewarded with a new contract if he keeps this up in the new year.

More concerned about not losing than winning is the only conclusion I can draw

I didn’t see a manager today that was concerned about losing, it’s arguably the most open I’ve seen us. It was like a basketball game at times.

great post. completely agree.

i just hope that the "corberan out" brigade have more patience going forward and maybe think a little more about where we have come from and what he is working with.

he has only spent £4.7m during his 100 games on 3 players (MJ, Heggem & Styles). All of the rest have been free transfers and loans. He does not get the credit he deserves considering where he has taken us from and to in a relatively short space of time with us just under £10m positive when you compare the players we have sold and bought during his time in fees.

its a long term project and he is one of the best managers we have had in a long time.

I don't think some parts of the fan base will have patience mate, that's the problem. Your previous post which i completely agreed with summed it up for me. If we had of drawn/lost that game yesterday some people would have been in here and on platforms like facebook/twitter claiming he had to go. He quite clearly changed the system which had a positive impact against a team who had played on Tuesday compared to us on the Thursday but hasn't received the plaudits he deserves. Of course we were holding on most the second half but when you take into account the difference in scheduling of previous games this cannot be a surprise to people.

People are allowed to criticise his decisions and i'm not against that but we are so short sighted sometimes, think of the bigger picture. Coventry have recently got rid of their manager and the top 2 to take that job are apparently Frank Lampard and Robbie Keane, not exactly inspiring. I hope i'm wrong but after the international break if we either draw or lose to Norwich this thread will be predictable.

This guy is quickly becoming one of my favourite players. I know he got out jumped for the goal but he rarely puts a foot wrong. I'm also not sure i've ever seen a 6ft + centre back attempt a bicycle kick  ;D

I find it remarkable that people use the phrase “we’re punching above our weight”how exactly ,our squad should be in the top 6 just like basically every pundit and commentator says!people forget we’re in the championship not the premier league, for example today we’re playing hull who haven’t won for 6 ,like us before the game !start off on front foot causing them problems score quick 2 then for some reason ,then we shut up shop after the break against hull. not Man City ,it’s just asking for problems

Cheer up we won.

Just look at the league as a whole, no team consistently blows teams away even those who have the best squads. It's very quiet in this thread today, shame that.

Some right miserable people on here at times. 2 extra days rest they had and i still never really thought we would concede when we were defending at the end, well done CC and the lads.

Styles/Heggem both great again.

Brilliant again from Johnston and a proper strikers finish from Maja. You can see the confidence difference already, brilliant.

Great little run by Johnston and regardless of the deflections if anyone deserves to score its Grant. Really happy with the shape so far.

I've seen nothing from Johnston this season to think we'd pick him ahead of Grant.  I know Johnston was great last season but we've not seen anything like that so far.

I tend to think if Johnston would have played as much as Grant, his output would have been better. For all that hard work and effort he has 2 goals and 1 assist which granted, is more than the rest of them. It's why i'd like to try playing them both together.

I’d like to think they are already considering making a change..
There are many things that should be concerning.
The inability to change the formation is truly baffling ,along with the poor utilisation of the squad ….this season the best performances have come from players that we have been almost forced in to playing
Mcnair due to bartleys injury
Styles due to Mcnairs injury
Holgate due to semi’s injury
Maja due to Dikes long term absence

When Corberan makes decisions on personnel it rarely brings a positive ,Racic,Diangana,Wallace …all been brought in to replace someone in the starting 11 and had stinkers.
When he finally makes subs he swaps x for x and they go in to exactly the same position /formation and nothing really changes
Not one person can give any credible reason for bringing Wallace on with less than 90seconds of injury time left at Blackburn, especially while we were attacking .
I hear a lot of acceptance justified by him “not being Bruce or Ishmael”,the fact we are 5th or the fact that (insert a name of club) aren’t doing well either, the squad isn’t good enough(it is) .even the fact that there can not be another manager in the world that would be able to replace Corberan…

We have the lowest amount of goals at home in the league
We have drawn 6 in a row
We look over coached and shot shy
Our owners didn’t invest to stand still …thankfully.

You say our owners didn't invest to stand still which in a way i agree with, but do you think they can see the bigger picture of the financial mess they have inherited?

We are still in a bad way with PSR which is only going to get worse next year if we don't get promoted. We are obviously not in a good run of form but surely do you think they can see we have a head coach who we are never going to be in any danger of getting relegated and has proven that he can get a team into the playoffs. I respect your opinion but mine is if they are the shrewd investors that i think/hope they are, then sacking a head coach who has more positives than negatives and pushing us even closer to the PSR line would make me question them.

I've praised him already on this thread and i feel like apart from Maja being the obvious, he has been our only other threat. I don't hide the fact that long term i would much rather see Johnston on the wing as i feel like over a season he would contribute a lot more but i wonder if would be able to accommodate both of them in the team?

We saw last night that he moved Grant centrally and i hope it's something we look at moving forward to mix things up a bit. Johnston would absolutely have to match his work rate if he was to play on the left but going forward i feel like we would be a lot more dangerous with both of them on the pitch.

I feel like this game could be a turning point with a lot of fans if we fail to win, would like us to go with possibly the below.

                  Palmer

Furlong    Holgate   Heggem  Styles

              Mowatt    Molumby

Dobbin        Grant      Johnston

                  Maja

Feel like we got away with it tonight. I didn't see anything wrong with the goal personally and would be fuming if that was the other way round. Shout out to Heggem, Holgate and Molumby who i thought were very good all night but our attacking play is boring and predictable. I heard booing at the end from the Smethwick but could have easily been the Burnley fans venting at the officials.
