For me, those two wins for Sheffield Utd is now them off and running. I expect them to get a decent set of results now.

Southampton  have just posted a net loss of £78m for the 2019/20 season.

Undeniable impact from COVID19 but they are also running wages at 90% of total revenue. Thats mad.

They are not worried apparently in the article from the Athletic. Fair flips if true.

Currently 7th, 3 pts off a champions league place.  Guaranteed Prem football next season (pretty much), historically low interest rates, spending like that isn't terrible if you've got a long term plan for it.  The risk is spending like that and getting relegated.  Or not spending like that and getting relegated.

I know the Europa league is an infamous money sink, anyone got ideas on how much they stand to gain/lose in the Champions league if this situation continues?

Southampton won’t get in the champions league in my opinion. They are obviously safe at the moment but a club of their size cannot be complacent. A few bad signing or a bad managerial appointment and they are in trouble.

I bet they will tighten their purse strings and I’d expect very little net spend from them in the summer.

Fulham looking much improved. Used loan market well. Net spend of 33m and got 7 loan players in.

Fulham looking really good in the latter parts of the second half. Look so much better than us.

Fair play to Fulham - they look like they've had a plan and it's giving them every chance. They are competitive in every game, don't concede many goals, and are clearly well coached.

Not over-committed themselves financially at 33m net spend and gave themselves a better starting XI and squad depth with 7 loans. Will still have a decent EFL team if they go down even when the loan players go back and wont be in money trouble.

Someone in their higher-ups has got half a clue.

Fulham still have Anguissa, a key player for them, from their last attempt at the Premier League. Remember in that regard, they are ahead of us.

Acknowledged, our clubs not only have different starting bases but differing budgets and dare I say it differing locations too.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

Brighton win, back to 6 points but game in hand on Tuesday gives us a chance to close that gap going into what is a crucial run of games.

I’m sure that Leeds at least lost in a really entertaining way though because they’re such a breath of fresh air etc etc

Antonio on his celebration:
“I took inspiration from players like Zaha and Grealish. They seem to see the football pitch as a swimming pool. It was a nod to them.”

Antonio apparently said this today after the game !
