The class of 92
« on: November 11, 2015, 01:30:07 PM »
Apologies if this has been covered before...

Just watched the Class of 92 series that was recently on. Really enjoyed it and I have to say that it has changed my opinion of some of the 'class'. Nice to see 5 lads club together and put something back into grass roots football.

However, what I enjoyed the most was the appointment of the two managers, Morley and Johnson. I thought their 'no nonsense' attitude was spot on to be honest. I know that they are just a couple of van drivers by day, but you have to admit that they certainly have something about them. I don't think that they will be van drivers for much longer.

I even found myself watching the game on Friday rooting for Salford. The second goal was a wonderful piece of skill. If it had been Ronaldo or Messi it would have been all over the news.

What does everyone else think?

Havent watched the series yet as been overloaded at work, saw little bits but will be watching it!

I have seen the Class of '92 documentary though and that was just brilliant.

I think all of the lads in that group are real football people, they have a serious love of the game and thats to be appreciated. Giving something back to football at the level they are is not something every footballer does but something they should definitely consider.

its not just the winning thats important...its rubbing the losers face in it after that counts

I think the class of 92 will do the dogs work and get them into the league then Peter Lim (other 50% shareholder) will come in splash the cash.

Fantastic bit of TV and I really enjoyed watching it.

It also changed my opinion on Phil Neville.

Made me want to start going to support some of the local teams abit more also.

Me too, completely.... and Paul Scholes.

So who wants to see Morley and Johnson down at the Albion then.....  ;D

Please note that the above is a hypothetical question and I don't for one second forward it as a real proposition, just in case you think I have completely lost it

I like the fact that the Class of 92 bought in the two managers and refused to interfere, just let them get on and do it.

It is easy to see how the owners can interfere though isn't it. I was itching for them at times to insist on certain things.

One thing I didn't like was the stick the striker was getting for missing a game to go abroad to model for 5k. Probably only earning couple hundred quid a game if that.
