Book a travel lodge or a premier inn in Preston for after the gig and go to the match the next day. Sorted.  ;D
The match is at the Albion.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: WBA NEW OWNERS - Bilkul football
« on: March 15, 2024, 05:33:49 PM »
Bilkul Football WBA, LLC has today paid off a loan previously owed to West Bromwich Albion Group Limited by Wisdom Smart Corporation Limited.

The loan has been repaid in full, including interest.
Announced by the official page. Not sure of the significance if I’m honest.

It is also funny how their manager etc. is going on about the Kipre handball as if it's a guaranteed when they had literally just missed a penalty.
To be fair you’d be fuming. Not assured of scoring it but even if missed they’d have been playing against ten for the remainder and battered us 11v11.  Understandable that the ref missed it but it’s still a bit poor from the ref and his team.

I always assumed insurance was just for career ending stuff. Never even occurred to me that it would be for your standard long term layoff. I know we get some compensation if a player is injured on international duty.

Best header of the ball at the club. This one maybe not ‘textbook’ though.

Already approved by the EFL so we don’t even have to wait for that to burst our bubble.

If there’s any spare money knocking about at all I can’t understand why we’d be spending it in an area that were quite well fixed. Surely after the weekend a backup striker should be a priority if there is one wage available.

Anyone know who the Armenian Noah group are? That are reported to be still interested.
He was linked in the first batch of names released a month or so back. Roman Gevorkyan Is the named ‘leader’ of that group. Already tried to buy Charlton unsuccessfully.

Looked more ankle to me that they were checking.

I think the signs are good, clearly the youth department is doing a very good job of finding and nurturing young talented individuals. If we can just get the club ownership sorted and some strategy in place to actually use it to our own advantage then it could be a very fruitful avenue in the coming seasons.

If he’s not going to play for us (and it’s highly unlikely until we lose a few CBs) then going and getting games is best for him. Hopefully he comes back ready to take up a spot in the first team squad next year when we’re likely to be without Bartley and possibly Kipre. All things considered a sensible move.

It has all the hallmarks of the bery public bassini meltdown prior to him not buying Birmingham City. A lot of noise to try and save face. I hope….

No issue with the endeavour shown by the players and I thought in most areas of the pitch we played well enough. The had same short comings in the opposition box as many other games though which is only going to improve by a change in personnel .

« on: January 27, 2024, 10:06:35 PM »
According to West Brom News today , he’s the highest earner at the club on £38,000 per week ,
I find it hard to believe that with a ‘flex down’ on relegation he’d still be on 38k. That’s just absolute madness if true.

Yup, he is due around £750k from his remaining contract time here.  They could offer him 30k per week now and a reduction to 15/20k p/w for next season regardless. We won't be able to afford that.
Hes be out on contract after picking up the 750k from us and would be in a stronger position to negotiate a better wage as with most free transfers.

They couldn’t agree terms with Palmer, who I would imagine would have been far easier to offer improved terms to . I hold no real hope they could match or exceed Bartleys current pay. If it frees up enough funds to tie down Kipre I’d be all for it if a deal could be done though.

« on: January 12, 2024, 10:27:33 PM »
As I have said before I fully expect him to sign a pre-contract with another club this month. He really been noticed by the media and other clubs this season so I would expect them to swoop for him on a pre-contract or as a sale.
Am I right on thinking he can only sign a pre contract with an overseas club?

All round superb performance. Thought the trio in the middle were absolutely brilliant. Hard to pick a single player out of that.

I can’t remember what was disclosed at the time but we generally have a year option in place.

AM has been excellent since coming into the side.

Always covering, making himself available for a pass and most importantly never wasting possession.

8 out 10 performances from him every week.

The upturn in form may be because he is in the last year of his contract and is putting himself in the shop window (I think his previous best season came when he was in the last  year of his contract under VI).

Doesn't really matter as long as keeps it up.

This is the player we had before his injury, although he is curbing his attacking instincts imo to make us solid, which we have been since he and CK cams in.

Keep it AW.
Im not convinced this is the player we had before his injury. Before his injury he ran around loads and pressed a lot , other than a couple of absolute rocket strikes I don’t think he showed a great deal of ability with the ball. This manager is getting a far more rounded game out of him, the improvement is immense. I think on recent showings he’s the pick of the centre midfielders.

How very Albion. Unreal timing on our injuries to key players these last few seasons.
