Sorted it out last season but cannot find on the Albion website how to book up for Albion TV for this coming season. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

My father took me to my first game at the Hawthorns in September 1958 after we moved from Plymouth to Dudley, my father was in the Army. We won 2-1,against Newcastle and Ronnie Allen scored both including a penalty. He bust the ball from the spot, became my most favourite Albion player ever since.

If he continues to develop he has the makings of a Declan Rice/ Bryan Robson styleplayer

I'm starting to agree. If there is no incentive for us and the players aren't coming through or are poached on the cheap just let it go.

Old spud face would do a much better job, but they wont sack hin - 4 year contract

I would prefer to see him loaned out for say £5 fee and that gives us the option of keeping him if we get promoted or if we fail he can go with our blessing, the cash coming in handy for the following season push for promotion.

Reminds me of Blues old shirt when Trevor Francis was in his heyday. Not impressed

The fact that the Americans cannot understand the concept of promotion and relegation is what annoys me. It stinks of anti competition and greed.
The only way to stop foreigners ruining our game in the name of profit is to pass legislation stating all UK football teams must be owned by brits i.e. minimum of 51% of the shares. Almost certainly wont happen but i believe Germany have a not too dissimilar principal.

Rafael Benitez leaves Chinese side Dalian Professional by mutual consent

Surely he will attract interest from Premier League clubs

Odds on a return to Newcastle I’d say.

Physicality, pace, presence and an element of surprise. No inside info'. Just not to be used on the left of a pairing from what I read when we signed him.

Take a look at the video of last under 23 match v Stoke. Gave away 2 soft pens and could be argued he was at fault for the other two as well. Not fare maybe just seeing highlights but he didnt look up to it for me.

Started with a nightmare and ended up a catastrophe.

Sold club for 200m get it back for between 150-175m sit on 25m to 50m profit stabilise club see us sit in top league for a while wait for next bumper tv deal and see if he can get 250-300m and on the way to that pay himself a good wage.

In a global recession or on verge of. Speculate to accumulate and all that. Never say never

The news that the Chancellor is considering doubling the CGT rates will make any investor likely to wait for a while!

On gates of 20,000 and an apparently socially deprived area that £140m is remarkable if true and a great advert for their marketing team as cannot recall a big player sale from them since that Everton defender whose name escapes me.

I think I also read that they operated on a ridiculously low wages bill of around £55m.

They've certainly come a long way from Kilby sagging us for having the unfair advatage of parachute payments and being sponsored by dave fishwick.

That £40m in the bank is a jp tactic they have clearly seen and used to attract a buyer using the mantra "see what could be yours".

Finishing 10th helped, they received £30+ more than Norwich, who got £95m from TV.

With an offer of £200m reportedly having been made for Burnley, I'm struggling to see what makes them more attractive at that price than us at £175m?

A quick look at last year's accounts of Burnley showed a turnover of nearly £140m, quite a bit more than I think we ever achieved, plus having £40 million in the bank at the end of last season.  Even if we survive this season I don't see our club being worth anything close to what Lai wants, especially if supporters are not allowed back.

« on: October 29, 2020, 05:44:51 AM »
Darren Moore and Jimmy Shan, two coaches with no first team managerial experience whatsoever, got us placed in 4th position and into the playoffs only the season before.

Let that boggle your mind. Two blokes with no managerial experience placing us 4th on their managerial debuts.

Then we have Slaven Bilić, who has managerial experience at international level and also European level including the Premier League. Who, might I add, we’ve played consistently poor under all of this year.
Pure conjecture on my part but if Bilic had Gayle and/or Rod last season we would have won that league comfortably.

We do have advantage that were are more or less debt free, and The club owns the Ground and the adjoining academy area I believe. That plus the value of the playing staff must put the value over £100 million and a bit more hopefully. If we are still Premier league this time next year
and life has returned to some sort of normally the value could rise to an amount when Lai may just consider jumping ship, we can but hope. Life springs eternal!

When their 2 main goalies cost twice as much as the team that we will put out, it put things into perspective. Reckon we could run them close but can only be one winner sadly.

More accurately, he was the buyer Peace had been hoping for. As I see it, Lai’s only way out, is to cut his losses.
Problem is that would result in him losing face which is equivalent to humiliation in China.
Sadly I think we are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
