Re Appleton, I'm still not fully over his use of Giles bloody Barnes in the West Ham game.

If we lose every single game but approach them like Big Dave did as a player I'll be happy - all I want to see from now until May is players actually trying.

I'd like to comment on the game, but I couldn't be arsed to go to my seat until 3.10pm, went for a pint at 3.30pm, got back in at 4.15pm and left the ground at 4.35pm.

Have to agree with this. Pulis is the only coach who could get any type of performance out of this squad of players.

He hid it well. He was also utterly desperate to be sacked.

My Granny could manage in the SPL and get Aberdeen to the same position

McInness bothers me, if he was linked but hadn't played here fans heads would explode

Shame Matt Wilson didn't report this at the time. Imagine our fans would have made his position untenable far sooner...

It would, but Matt wouldn't have a job if the club disowned him, so I see his point.

However, I don't think the players should get off lightly, if they don't want to play for the manager the should at least play for us.

Someone who isn't a member of the merrygoround of hasbeens & neverbeens who stroll from one job to another leaving a trail of destruction behind them but a nice little top up to the old pension pot.

The first thing we need to do is sack Nick Hammond, his time here has felt similar to the look he has permanently on his face - like you've just swigged some rancid milk.

Dream ticket - Hodgson leaves Palace, Hammond has to leave due to his scrotum going septic, Hodgson installed as Director of Football & a seat on the main board, Dean Smith installed as Head Coach.

I'd also take Pearson as I think he's hard enough to suss out and get rid of the wasters but enough of a players manager to keep the others feeling good.

I want a fresh face with new ideas to eradicate the stench caused by our last two managers who, for different reasons, have zero morality and are both utterly vile human beings.Whoever it is needs to be positive, energetic and lively enough to eradicated the massive shroud of negativity that has engulfed our club since the day Roy & Dan left.

"Before the mcfc game, Pardew asked Field over & over again if he was ‘s***ing himself’ in front of the rest of the squad. If this was supposed to be a motivational tool, it was grossly misjudged."

This tells you all you need to know about the man. He's been an absolute disaster and should've been booted weeks ago.

The squad needs fillers and Gardner is ideal because he can cover a few positions, causes no trouble and is extremely professional.

He has a role to play, albeit not a starting one.

Awful decision. Conned a living out of football. A disgrace to the players past who wore the no 8 shirt

Not that you're going over the top or anything......

I'll buy my own beer and hope that Pulis does so well this season that his departure is not spoken of in the board room.

It'll be a big test, but under Pulis we have the ability to do quite well in these and are more than capable of getting 4 points from the upcoming run of games.

« on: October 10, 2016, 02:01:35 PM »
Pound for Pound he's been a very good signing who has contributed to the team on a regular basis. He's never going to be flawless, but how many £1.5m signings will be?

There is something in his character that i like, the sort of player who reminds me of that heroic 2002 team that got us promoted with blood, guts and hard work over our expensively assembled, but ultimately weak hearted, neighbors. He's a fighter, he burst onto the scene at Sunderland but was properly stitched up by the club on non footballing issues, so he moved down a level to prove himself and worked his way back to the top flight, where he's proven his worth and is now doing the same for his country. I love to see footballers do that. It's why i like McAuley so much - he's worked bloody hard for it so appreciates every minute.

I'm at a loss at the amount of stick McClean gets, normally from people who bend over backwards to make excuses for Berahino, who has all of the ability but none of the work ethic or attitude to use it properly.

Only at the Albion could one of our players scoring two goals in a world cup qualifier have people falling over themselves to have a pop at him.

And i've a feeling exactly why this is, and it's got nothing to do with his ability as a footballer  ::)

Lepkowski on twitter suggesting there are now injunctions in place, Collymore claims to have seen the true list and says it will devastate English football. All getting very ominous.

The only thing Collymore has seen is some bloke shagging his Mrs through a steamed up windscreen. Utter blagger.

The wages we paid were too low for Mowbrays style to succeed in the PL the year we went down.

Despite how it's gone I don't think he'll have any regrets about leaving us. After his playing career he couldn't turn down Celtic. He'll regret not being a success there,  and at Middlesbrough.

He was quoted as saying he didn't want to raise the wage ceiling too high as it would upset the players who got us up, thats why we went down the road of signing unproven players like Zuiverloon, outlaying £23m that summer. He was also given the chance to sign a striker that summer but said he was happy with the options he had, relying heavilly on goals from midfield which never came.

Players like Borja Valero were talented individuals but absolutely lost in the pace of the PL, that is what cost us.

He should be fired for his disrespect towards his peers alone, not to mention the fact when he answered "not any more" in regards to bungs, now that alludes to the fact he's done it in the past.

What an arrogant tosser this idiot is. Clearly inebriated up, swilling from a pint of lager and trying to hold court acting the big man with people he doesn't know.

Get him out.

I actually don't care.

We've not seen him for two games and it's been lovely to not see his fat backside waddling around and the sideshow that goes with it.

If the last I see of him is him bumping into people, getting in the way and generally wheezing round the pitch against Boro then i'll be a happy man.

He cost us nothing, so we've only lost out on speculative money which we don't really need. WBA will still be here long after he's gone.

I'd have taken a point before and am ultimately happy with getting one. Stoke are not imo going to remain in the league position they are in and have some very dangerous attacking players, add that to our record up there and a point is always a welcome one.

Pulis picked the correct 11, i think Nyom would've started regardless, and again got his substitutions bang on.

A good, solid start to the season. We now need to get at least a point at Sunderland which takes us into a rather nasty run of games.

Regardless of personal opinions it is a major achievement to manage 1,000 professional game, even more so when you consider he managed to re invent himself as a Premier League manager fairly late in his career.

Getting Stoke up was a massive feat, as was keeping them up as their promotion squad was one of the weakest ever to be promoted. Establishing them in the PL was even more of an achievement.

Thats my point he will poss go abroad to do us out of money

in all honesty, who cares though really about getting any money for him, if he was older he could run his contract down and leave for free anyway

I would rather he was just stuck in the u-23's for the season, made to train with the kids and then kicked out at the first opportunity...

He has wrecked his career anyway i reckon...no big club will come calling and as I've said before if they do it will be purely to fill homegrown quotas and he will spend his time on the bench or in the stands...

The senior players & coaching staff have made it very clear that under no circumstances should he be allowed anywhere near the young players.
