West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Is relegation so bad?
« on: April 11, 2018, 04:46:36 PM »
What order would West Brom fans place the blame for this relegation?

e.g. imo for Newcastle it was

1. owner
2. previous managers
3. players
4. manager at the time
5. luck

1. Previous owners for laying foundations
2. Pulis
3. Board who left Pulis sacking too late and appointed Pardew
4. Pardew
5. Players

Good luck to em, second in wealth behind Man City.Financially apart from when they went bust in the mid eithties they always seem to have more dosh than us, its the seals i want to see suffer

we will always and have been the third team in the west midlands

Really?

They were better than us for a few years in the 90s when we were a mess but even then they were perennial bottlers.

Other than that you would have to go back to the 50s to find a period where they were comprehensively better than us.

Think that some people getting on his back for being into whizz are missing the point entirely.

Couldn't have cared less what he got up to in his spare time. But the fact that he got caught and then lied about why he wasn't playing in an attempt to make the club look bad, all the while the club are out there covering his back for him. That is what makes what he's done so unforgivable in my eyes.

He's absolutely despicable.

Poppies are a poor shout. The whole point of it is that its supposed to be a dignified symbol of remembrance. As soon as you start wearing them to 'send a message' all you're doing is proving FIFA's argument right really.

Also, the Premier League matches aren't governed by FIFA so it's completely pointless anyway.

I don't think there has been this much discontent towards a manager since Brian Little maybe even before. I think we generally get behind our managers but that perception  may be due to having a chairman who will fire them before the rot really sets in. Up until now that is at least.

We certainly don't very often do those embarrassing banners like the Villa do if the manager doesn't exceed their over inflated expectations after 2 weeks. Though it's admittedly it's close to breaking point now.

Late in the day I know but a mate is after a ticket if there's one going. Drop us a DM if you can help.

1. Less said the better really. Lacked creativity going forward and played a style and formation that cried out for width which wasn't there. Clearly playing a counter attacking 4-4-2 with 4 central midfielders didn't work and we failed to change it around when we needed to. Southampton got their slice of luck and deserved it to be fair.

2. Judging by Saturday a lack of a plan B is a real concern at the moment. I expect with the arrivals of Anelka and Vydra that we will be ok in the striker department, especially if Rosenberg continues to show signs of improvement. Our problem is in our wide areas, which will hopefully be addressed with the (eventual!) arrival of Sinclair.

3. Last season it seemed as if we hit teams on the break with a lot more venom than we did under Hodgson and were a lot less afraid to throw bodies forward. Really enjoyed watching us last season, particularly the first few months when we were really flying.

4. Main concern is not getting the players we clearly need before the transfer window shuts.

5. James Morrison has been superb for me the past couple of years. Feel that Anelka is going to make a big contribution this season.

6. I actually really quite like Everton. Decent club with decent fans and a bigger club than some people realise.

7. Good manager who employs a style of play in his teams that people enjoy watching, will be interested to see if he can make the step up to managing a bigger club. He will be loved at Everton if he can repeat last years feat and bring you a trophy.

8. Honestly, I think it could probably do with a lick of paint and more importantly getting those damned supporting pillars removed. Would be a shame if you ever left Goodison though as do like the 'old school' feel of the place. Especially like walking to the ground through the terraced streets, seeing people popping out their house to go to the match. Like something out of a 1970s comic book.

9. Personally think you will have too much for us and win 2-0 fairly comfortably.

10. As above with Mirallas first goalscorer.

The home kit looks more Burnley than Aston Villa.

For someone who knows very little you say a awful lot.

How does the old song go? They sing and they shout things they know f**k all about.

From the back of the Brummie I saw someone get chucked out after nearly every goal, some of them looking more worse for wear than others...

They have been unbearably classless today on Twitter and in the office. And yet they wonder why everyone hates them...

It was a fantastic tribute, the applause was completely spontaneous too. Her dad is a season ticket holder in the East Stand and Christina herself was at the Villa and Spurs matches.

It seems awful to say but it seems a whole lot more real knowing she was one of our own.

Worst thing about it is the club would've paid for that. Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth all went into financial dire straits after this clown left them and he has the nerve to go out and do things like this. The man is a complete and utter disgrace.

Apparently should the Wolves get relegated, those fans who bought the 'early bird' will be reimbursed.... with a free pie and pint!

Not sure if anyone noticed but before the penalty they showed where Gerrard has placed all his recent penalties and nearly all of them went to the keepers right hand side. Foster would have done his research on this and must have been tempted to guess to go to his right, instead he was able to read Gerrard and went to the left side instead. The sign of a top class goalkeeper that.

Or alternatively we could just forget about it and support the team. He probably won't even be there.

I wouldn't expect a reply from these two any time soon. They've both gone to their first game of the season tonight, it's all very exciting for them.
