Six days until kick off.

Last Season: N/A

Smethwick          Sold Out
West Stand         319
Brummie Road    1,359
East Stand          1,126

Remaining:  2,804
Sold:  20,600 +

Cardiff:  Sold Out

Cardiff are the first away team this season to sell out at the Hawthorns. Given it's a Saturday 3pm kick off and given our form I would be expecting us to be challenging for our best home attendance of the season particularly if we win at Leeds on Tuesday night.

Just to warn you all it’s my first Hawthorns visit of the season. My last game was Ipswich and I’m still to see a win since 2006! What I wouldn’t give to have that feeling of seeing a victory and walking away from the ground absolutely delighted!

Cardiff sold out already as Atomic indicates, interestingly they think our prices are 'cheap as chips'

http://www.ccmb.co.uk/showthread.php?440924-WBA-TICKETS-SOLD-OUT

Also they seem to think away tickets are less available this season than last in the prem.

Bigger allocations in the prem? Or more interest in games where they might start with a chance of making a game of it?

Oh no, I was looking forward to this one until I read the above posts.

May as well go and sit in the freezer now to thaw the chill that's running down my spine.

Bugger.

We have only gave them 2000 tickets. I wonder if the Marc Darcy advertisement in Smethwick will be there all season?

Referee: John Brooks
Assistant Referee: Akil Howson
Assistant Referee: Phillip Dermott
Fourth Official: Graham Salisbury.

Reffed our 0-1 loss at Boro and our 2-3 win at QPR.

Don't know if the assistant is the same one that failed to see the blatant handball at Boro?

Well i live in Cornwall and work weekends so it's a big financial loss for me which i can't afford anymore than i do visit my home from home but every single game i've chosen since 2005's win v Everton has resulted in brutal draws and defeat! Although i can think of a positive one - a 2-2 draw with Villa when Odemwingie scored late on!

This hoodoo will be broken on Saturday!!

Onto the football. I hope Austin starts after his rest yesterday but i don't think Zohore is as bad as some are saying and i wouldn't be against him starting either.

Wouldn't be avert to Krov in for Livermore or Phillips but the latter pushes Pereira wide, which is fine but he seems more effective in the middle.

Bartley out would be fine too though i'm unsure who would come in for him, O'Shea/Ferguson/A fence post.

Krov can’t do the Livermore role imo. He’s not a tackler is he?

Seems Colin loves coming to The Hawthorns according to Walesonline, because ‘it’s a proper place’ . Let’s make sure he does not like it so much after the game. They will defend in numbers and try to hit us on the break Pulis style. Good test for us and would be nice for Charlie to feet off the mark.

;D Think we have to try with 2 upfront. Cardiff will come here for a draw. Austin and Zohore I would start. Hopefully bring Hegazi back and push Semi up with Sawyers...dropping Livermore.

Most definitely won’t drop Livermore

                          Johnstone
Furlong.   Semi.                  Bartley.  Fergie

          Krov.         Sawyers.   Livermore
               Pereira.             Diangana
                           Phillips
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

No on both fronts - Semi needs to stay where he is at CB, and Livermore has more than earnt his place in the side alongside Sawyers. For me there are two improvements required for this current squad; the return of Hegazi to form a solid partnership with Semi, and a new striker in January.

As a side note in respect of Livermore, I think that he is doing a great job as captain, always engaging with the officials and he seems to have a good understanding with Slaven.
MAGA!

No to playing two strikers. If Cardiff do sit back then we need the guile and variations to open them up. We may see more of Furlong high up the pitch and Phillips drifting inside in a more central role....saying that I wouldn't mind seeing Edwards come in for Phillips for this one with it being the third game of the week.
I expect to see Austin start again.

Colin got a very good result last night, I'm expecting a tough one here 1-1.

Has to be Austin for me, he looks the most likely and also has the best track record.
Need to tell Perreira, Diangana, Phillips, Krov Edwards, Furlong and Ferguson to stop having so much fun and shoot more often though. They were like the Harlem Globetrotters at times on Tuesday, passing it around for fun, which was great to watch, but it was almost as if they forgot that the ultimate "goal" is to stick the ball in the blinking net!
