West Bromwich Albion FC / Sam Field Joins QPR
« on: August 24, 2016, 09:12:38 AM »
Thought this kid deserved his own thread - he was excellent at Northampton last night, our best player by a country mile. He looks to have a lot of potential, I thought his vision and reading of the game was very good for a young kid.

Hope he gets some more minutes on the pitch for the first team going forward.

West Bromwich Albion FC / How do we get more bums on seats?
« on: May 19, 2016, 09:35:22 PM »
Following on from some of the debates in the Stadium Expansion thread, does anyone actually have any ideas for how the club increase the number of casual non-STH's attending home games? Potentially if there are some good ideas on here, they could go to the Albion Assembly and discussed with the club?

Sensible suggestions only, and try to keep the "play better football" comments to a minimum... ;D

West Bromwich Albion FC / Team spirit
« on: August 26, 2012, 12:08:25 PM »
I'm sure it's already been commented on but I absolutely loved the passion and team spirit displayed by the players yesterday when Morrison scored. When the ball hit the back of the net they were all jumping around like we were in the stand! Amazing to see especially this early on in the season and with a new Head Coach. Can't help but think Clarke is bringing this group of players even closer together as a group, much like Mourinho did in the early days at Chelsea. Happy days.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Signs of a manager losing the plot
« on: September 22, 2011, 08:55:07 AM »
  • Constantly selecting his "favourites" despite the fans clearly seeing there are better options
  • Playing players out of their natural positions and putting square pegs in round holes
  • Constant talk of "taking positives" in post match interviews

I hope for Roy's sake and ours we win on Saturday, we badly need a lift and some more points on the board. If the team selection is similar to that of last week's and the football doesn't improve, I can see an uncomfortable atmosphere against Fulham unfortunately.

What really troubles me is that losing Roy means Appleton gets promoted to Head Coach. Frightening.

... this may seem extremely petty to some people, some may agree but I don't really care either way.

Whoever is employed at Albion to play pre and post match music needs shooting after yesterday. I find the pre match music choices bad enough as it is, but to play Party Rock Anthem, a massively upbeat song with lyrics such as "everybody just have a good time", after what happened in the 91st minute was absolutely ridiculous. It might not have bothered other people but it really, really annoyed me that they thought this was appropriate. Predictably the Clayheads loved it and continued to celebrate.

Absolutely cringeworthy if you ask me, but I suppose I'll get slated to high heaven now for being petty! ;D

West Bromwich Albion FC / Fortune v Bednar
« on: August 24, 2011, 09:36:03 AM »
One works his socks off and scores twice last night and gets slated, the other is set to leave the club and has contributed nothing to this club for at least two years.

So why in gods name do people still hero worship this utter clown whilst Fortune, who still has a part to play as 3rd / 4th choice striker, has to suffer constant abuse? I seriously cannot understand the mentality of some of our "supporters", some were seriously embarrassing at Bournemouth last night.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Jerome Thomas

The most infuriating winger we've had in years. Why oh why is this guy so lazy? I can't remember the last time he actually sprinted, for the last few months all he's done is jog for 10 yards in possession and give it back to Shorey.

On days like today I can sort of excuse players like Tchoyi who put a shift in despite a serious lack of footballing ability, but this guy has got it, sadly he rarely shows his talent.

Announcements, Feedback & Questions / Timeouts using Chrome
« on: April 29, 2011, 02:58:33 PM »
Anyone else get the annoying timeout messages on here when using Google Chrome? It happens all the time, whether I'm viewing a thread or posting a reply.

"Error 7 (net::ERR_TIMED_OUT): The operation timed out."

General Football & Sports / Clint Dempsey

Am I alone in wondering why this guy never seems to get much credit or interest from any of the big clubs? He's having another outstanding season, I think he's consistently scored at least ten goals a season since he's been over here with Fulham. Very underrated IMO.
