Should have a play off place guaranteed by the Blues game and promotion after beating Derby just in time to celebrate over Easter!  :-*

They also went on a great run to stay up in the prem under Roy I think so they have it in their DNA to do it.
History. Different team and manager.

7 wins 2 draws 2 defeats gives us 92 points a nicely rounded 2 points a game ,
though to be honest on present form cant see how were going to lose 2 games

There is at least one more twist left in this season, I am counting no chickens yet

Fulham on 57 points , final 12  games are Swansea / Preston / Brizzle / Brentford / Leeds / QPR / Blues / Forest / Cardiff / WBA / Sheff wed / wigan
a horror run, if they get near to 87 points it will be a hell of an achievement, more notable they WILL be taking points of the "others"

Brentford conversely have after the next 5 games have a great run in and will represent the real threat from the pack (IMO)
Depends on what is considered a”great run in”
If we had to pick 3 teams to replay , would you go Barnsley,Stoke, boro or Bristol c, Swansea, Preston ?

Tonight I went on a scouting mission to craven cottage , my god the standard is actually quite bad ...
Cavelero and Knockaert remind me of jack russels, small noisy and not to be worried about , Swansea look poor except for the lad on loan from Chelsea (was at Charlton) we should try and get him next year ..
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

Can't see us needing 92 points.
85/6 ,so 16/17 points I think,so if we beat Wigan could be down to 13/points, 4 wins?

Having said previously,I want us to actually win the league, so we have another trophy in the cupboard.
It got me thinking, which club has won the championship title most times and secondly which club has been promoted more times from the championship?
We must be in with a shout mustn't we?
I don't count  the old  2nd division up to 1st either.

82 points for me would be enough to get automatic this season. So let's say four more wins and a draw.

We would have the record for 5 promotions to the Premier League we currently share that honour with Leicester, Palace, Sunderland and Norwich City

you are correct in that we have 5 promotions to the Premier league however only 2 have been in the era of the Championship (2007-08 and 2010-11). The Championship started in 2004-05.

So Burnley, Hull City and Norwich lead the way with 3 promotions each.

Thinking about this today we are currently 9 points clear of Fulham in third but due to our goal difference being so superior its as if we are four wins clear. Surely with 11 games remaining another four wins would see us home and dry that would mean Fulham would need to win 9 of their final 11 and they have the likes of Preston, Bristol City, Leeds, Brentford, Forest and us still to play in those 11 games. Does anyone think it will be less wins than four needed?

I don’t think 4 wins is enough. 5 is though....

4 wins would mean Fulham have to win 9 of their final 11 with tricky games.

I know all matches are massive but I think this one against Wigan is crucial.
Win this and I reckon win 4 out of 10 and that's us up.

10 games to go 5 at home and 5 away, run in looks like this if we don't progress in Cup.
Swansea away
Blues home
Brentford away
Sheffield Wednesday away
Hull home
Derby home
Blackburn away
Fulham home
Huddersfield away
Qpr home
30 points to play for with 7 point cushion over 3rd place including goal difference. 3 senior player's to come back into first team Sawyers, Gibbs and Diangana. Keep the faith destiny still in our own hands.

Very well said. Crucially we have games against a number of mid-table teams with little to play for.

I agree - no need to panic because of one poor result.

But we should still be wary. Our home form is pretty rotten over a long time now - 2 wins in 8 games, and we didn’t beat “the top teams” Brentford, Forest or Leeds in that run either.

There are probably two factors that threaten us:

1. Whether we now go on another poor run.
2. Whether Fulham or Forest have a “Villa-type” run of wins.

BOTH of those things probably need to happen for us to miss out, and you wouldn’t expect either. But this is the Championship.

If it gets close you never know the psychological impact that could have on a club that’s been so far clear for so long.

We remain in a fantastic position but there’s no room for complacency.

Yesterday does not change an awful lot Fulham are 3 points closer but still can only get to 93 points we therefore can guarantee  promotion with 8 wins our destiny will remain in or hands until we can't better 2 teams maximum points totals.

It's going to be a three way fight between us,Fulham and Forest for that second automatic spot.
The Fulham game at home is going to be massive.

Since we are top surely it's a 4 way fight including Leeds?

Personally I think we'll win the league.
