Very well said. Crucially we have games against a number of mid-table teams with little to play for.
I agree - no need to panic because of one poor result.
But we should still be wary. Our home form is pretty rotten over a long time now - 2 wins in 8 games, and we didn’t beat “the top teams†Brentford, Forest or Leeds in that run either.
There are probably two factors that threaten us:
1. Whether we now go on another poor run.
2. Whether Fulham or Forest have a “Villa-type†run of wins.
BOTH of those things probably need to happen for us to miss out, and you wouldn’t expect either. But this is the Championship.
If it gets close you never know the psychological impact that could have on a club that’s been so far clear for so long.
We remain in a fantastic position but there’s no room for complacency.
