West Bromwich Albion FC / Uros Racic loan spell ended
« on: August 18, 2024, 07:57:53 PM »
Uroš Racic

Serbian defensive mid, plays for Sassuolo in serie B.

It would be our last foreign signing. Guessing the striker we will pursue will undoubtedly be a loan deal.

Seemed like he had a really big break through season at Valencia in 20/21 but didn’t kick on and has  since found it hard to get regular minutes anywhere. He hasn’t got more than 1200 league minutes in 3 seasons since, that’s equivalent to 13 games a season or less

Albion are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Devante Cole on a two-year contract.

The former Barnsley forward checks in at The Hawthorns having netted 18 goals in Sky Bet League One last season.

Devante insists he’s arriving full of confidence and says he’s determined to hit the ground running.

He said: “I’m really excited to be back in the Championship. It was one of my goals to get back to this division as quickly as possible.

“I’m coming here to Albion off the back of a good season at Barnsley. I’ll bring a lot of hard work to the team and I hope to be a real threat.

“I’ve got to take my chance when I get it, but when I get my chance, I’m confident I can score goals.”

Head coach Carlos Corberán added: “I would like to welcome Devante to the club. Devante is an energetic, hardworking striker who also has pace.

“He arrives after scoring goals in League One last season and will provide further attacking competition to the squad.”

It sounds like the Queen is in a bad way. Under doctor supervision and all her children have gone.

I'm not a royalist at all, but as far as I'm concerned the Queen has always acted in a respectful and dignified way. As you'd expect, some of the rubbish on twitter is disgusting

West Bromwich Albion FC / Next 6 games
« on: August 31, 2021, 09:59:43 PM »
With the window closing and an international break, I’m interested how people think we will do in the next 6 fixtures before thre next break.

We play:

Millwall (h)
Derby (h)
Preston (a)
QPR (h)
Cardiff (a)
Stoke (a)

I’m think 11 points which would be another decent return. We play 6 matches in under a month again  and I think we will lose to either Cardiff or Stoke as like Peterborough I think we will put in at least really poor performance after a run of intense games. Couple of draws thrown in too.

On the flip side I think we could be the first side that hammers Derby. We have a chance over the next 3 to put ourselves in a great position though that gives us a bit of breathing room

General Football & Sports / Heading in training
« on: July 28, 2021, 11:38:47 AM »
Moving forwards the recommendation is that a maximum of 10 higher-force headers are carried out in any training week. These are typically headers following a long pass (more than 35m) or from crosses, corners and free-kicks.

It seems quite restrictive to me for certain positions. I wonder how many times an average centre half would head a ball in training at present per week.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Get Sean a season ticket
« on: January 21, 2020, 08:01:47 PM »
Surprised I’ve not seen anything on here yet, sorry if I’ve missed it and there is a thread.

A lad called Snarka won tickets for the match last night. As he has a season ticket he donated to a homeless West Brom fan, who had never made a game. Bloke looks like he had a great time (photos clearly taken before kick off).

Since the story broke on Twitter Horsfield has got involved and is trying to help get him accomodation. There is also a fund raiser for a season ticket and any spare money will go to clothes, necessities etc

This isn’t supposed to become a debate about the cause, I know people value different things, but I thoughts it’s a great story that might just change one persons life.

I’ll be making a small contribution.

Anybody watching.

Finding this really interesting to be honest! Great to hear perspectives that you don't usually hear. Not sure if its the first programme but I hope there are more.

Basically for anyone not watching they have Brian Mcdermott, The Peterborough chairman and an agent discussing various things in football.
