I've got no excuse for not knowing as my lad will be there to accumulate more England Caps for his jaunts across Europe. Which are otherwise known as sisp ups abroad with the lads  ;) .

"sisp ups" are very expensive in Helsinki I'm told.  He may ask the bank of mom and dad to finance him.

In which case if he goes to Helsinki he'll get to experience the delights of their tap water. Perfectly drinkable..... so I'm told  8) .

Really can't be bothered with this nations league, just another excuse for a glorified friendly!

Much as I moan about disruptions to the domestic football calendar the Nations League fixtures are anything but glorified friendlies. The competion's worth winning in It's own right (building habits) and also has a direct impact on our ranking and seedings for other competitions.

And though I could be wrong, doesn't it take the place of friendlies? It hasn't added extra fixtures to the schedule, right?

No idea but I suspect it probably has to be honest. Either way we shouldn't really be having international breaks three months on the trot not long in to the season. We really shouldn't regardless of who's right or wrong. Am I right or am I wrong?

Bellingham as usual with the clutch moment.

You can still get a chance of promotion via a play off if we come second, but that play off will be vs a Belgoum, Switzerland, Hungary etc - ie a decent chance we lose and fail to get promotion.

That goal was crucial to give us the best chance of avoiding a couple of very tricky major tournament qualifaction draws (as the nations league directly impacts your draw seeding).

Cant say they dont deserve that. Put the ball in the net more ofren than Hungary did.

England need to win the last 3 and win them big to get top now. I'd say it's 50/50 we fail to get promotion and the repercussions of that failure would be atleast 2 euro/world cup qualifcation stages sharing a group with a France, Soain, Germany etc as a minimum.

That was an abomination, Carsley put together a Frankenstein football team. No need to have a major experiment on a team that were runners up at the Euros.
No centre Forward to start! Absolute dross first 45 yet no changes at the break, and another manager who thinks Alexander Arnold is good enough for International Football.
Thank God that rules him out for the job.

Well I knew Carsley wasn't the man for the job. Team selection today abhorrent. As mentioned above not doing well in this makes euro and world cup qualification harder potentially.

Wasted 2 tournaments on Southgate who should have gone after the collapse v Italy. Don't waste another one. If they want Guardiola go throw some money at him and be done with it

On balance, I'd say that Eddie Howe has to be the man for the job. He's been in and around the Prem for many years now and has a lot of experience with teams and players of different abilities/ego's. Plays a decent balanced style of football. Tell him you want him, get him in as soon as realistically possible and let's get the ball rolling. I don't particularly like having a non-English manager.

Oh yeah, and drop Harry Kane due to his poor performance when it matters in the last 3 tournaments. He's been that bad that pundits have resorted to telling us he must be injured. Time for a new era without slow-boy limiting our play.

Was Carsley trying to demonstrate to us that fielding 3 similarly creative players just because you have them is not a good strategy even if leaving out any of them would anger a certain sector of the press?   Football is a team game and is comprised by a number of roles?  Each role must be filled by a specialist.

What we had last night was Foden, Bellingham and Palmer all vying to play the same position.  One of them, at least, has to be left out  That one will have his supporters amongst the critics.  The manager's self belief must be bigger than that. In Foden and Palmer we have almost the same player: left-footed, quick and nimble of the turn and capable at times of a great shot, but not very good at tracking back winning the ball .  Both wanting to play No 10 or bar that, out on the left where Saka lurks - again left footed nimble etc.

You wouldn't pick 3 centre forwards, or 5 centre backs (unless you are Pulis).  So why pick 3 number 10s especially when you are crying out for someone to help Rice win the ball in midfield.  More so if TAA is going to go missing from right back.

 >Bellingham was told to drop back but didn't.  A spell on the bench would be prescribed by a strong manager
 >Is Foden as good as he appears  when shorn of the international stars that he plays with at Man City?
 >If we need to disrupt low block defences don't we need:-
a right footer on the right?
and a left footer on the left
or at least an overlapping full back who can centre from the by-line?

Where to start

Generally the nation is very apathetic and apologetic, we put up with average and we excuse under performance, that’s why we had Southgate for so long, that’s why Lee Khazi was even considered , that’s why Clinton Morrison, Darren Ambrose, Troy Deeney and Agbonlohor get paid for being unable to talk clearly about football.

He can’t cope with the egos of these players
Arnold is not an international standard defender
Pickford has never been good enough and certainly not stable enough
We have watkins, Toney and Solanke who are all strikers and regardless of any interpretation of form, more in tune with the role of a striker than any of the 6 midfielders .

We need a winner, we need someone to get us a pot, we need someone with the gravity to make the decisions rather than let them be made for him.
I’d go Jose now.
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

Wtf are the FA doing appointing this bloke even for 3 games!
Clueless, forget experiments, we want to win every match with the best team possible, no striker!
Foden, arguably the best left footed midfielder in Europe whats he been told to do?
Did we have any shots on goal until we scored?
I could go on but dont let Carsley back into the under 21's lets have a clear out and start again please, weve got the players just need a top coach, sick to watch that rubbish
