I'm popping down to see my mom just before Christmas. I live alone, she lives alone, neither of us has had any symptoms (if that changes I won't be going obviously). I've not seen her since August. She is 79 so I guess I can count as her support bubble.
It's natural, would you have stayed home if the government had instructed you to I wouldn't.

To be honest I'm not sure, probably not as I can reasonably claim to be her care bubble.

I can't help feel the Christmas break will undo the progress of the second lockdown, and some.

At most I will see parents and in laws. For the sake of a few extra months as the weather improves and the vaccine is rolled out, the risk seems wholly unnecessary to me.

It's a no brainer in my mind, can't see it doing anything but scupper the work so far.
Get ready for another lockdown in January.

Pretty grim reading for the future of the country today for the next 5 years. I think the lockdown bailout money has gone.

Johnson kind of covered this when saying the tier system would probably last until Easter.  Certainly the higher tiers are very much the same as the current lockdown ,has any area seen its tier downgraded yet ?

Maybe it depends on your age but it didn't look that bad to me GDP increase every year compare that to the mid  70s  to early 80s that's manna from heaven.
Obviously, all depends on how quickly we return to normal from Covid etc but I'm optimistic.

I would expect most regions to see their tiers go up.

Hearing through the grapevine that Worcester will go up into Tier 2.

They said on news tonight that it was very possible that tiers will be county wide rather than by council

I'm expecting as soon as lockdown ends Wolverhampton City Centre will be chock a block with Christmas Shopping it was the Wednesday before it took my 79 half an hour to get from Wolves to Darlo Lockdown has made me feel less stressed except for Regular Stuff such as the bus getting full. I was able to socialise with Kids in my College Class. Once it ends I'm expecting chaos major traffic, lots of people getting on the buses and me to suffer. The Government should really offer support to those who struggled old, young so on. I understand Christmas is important but can we afford to let the UK return to Normal when other illnesses such as Cold's flu so on are rife putting more pressure on the NHS plus people getting drunk so on

I’m off to get tested I think.

Have felt tired and lethargic the last few days, bit of S&D and just want to sleep.

I’ve no other symptoms and these are very low on the symptoms scale and not the main ones to look out for which I don’t have like, a cough, loss of taste and smell etc.

But work say I should think about getting tested.

You and me probably at different ends of the age spectrum BB04, but you are writing it like I'm seeing it as well. Totally with you on this one.

Problem is the commerce driven ideologies to go out, socialise and more importantly SPEND, are so ingrained in the psyche of so many people they will act in an unusually selfish manner and help create greater problems. They seen to fail to understand that there is a killer out there and if it does not get you then it might get someone you care for further down the line. It's up to all of us to act responsibly to help minimise the killers reach. Keep safe mate

I don't think it's anything to do with commerce.

Despite the hysterical behaviour of the media acting as if the world is going to be wiped out people are fast getting sick of being locked away.

We only live once. Time is the price none of us can afford.

Let's looks at some facts which is what people are doing more and more in spite of the media.

Covid19 has a 99.972% survival rate.

Average age of covid death over 82, average age of natural death 80.

Majority of deaths can be greatly reduced by tucking the elderly and vulnerable away. This hasn't been done. This action alone would have saved more lives than any other action until vaccination.

Caution and sensible behaviour was what was needed from individuals. Better policies from the government.

For those interested in possibly getting back into the grounds below is a list that currently are allowed to let in 2000 fans. Tier 2 being the case.
Which Premier League clubs can have up to 2,000 fans?
Arsenal
Chelsea
Southampton
Everton
Crystal Palace
West Ham
Liverpool
Tottenham
Fulham
Brighton and Hove Albion

There are over 50,000 people in this country who are no longer alive whether that is directly due to Covid or any other condition exacerbated by Covid.

It's very easy to write-off those over the age of 80 when they're not your mom, dad or grandparent and you don't have to chose which family members can and can't go to the funeral.

I agree, however the associated mental health impacts of locking only vulnerable away would be on a par with those we're seeing anyway. Oh to be told you're vulnerable and then locked away for months on end whilst everyone else carries on as normal. Vulnerable and marginalised.

There are an element of people who wouldn't follow any guidance. Government led confusion has only made this worse. It's not surprise that the countries who are faring best now locked down early and locked down hard.

Appreciate this may come across as argumentative, that's not how it's intended as I can completely understand your thinking and your frustration with the current situation.

2000? No point at all. Plus it's not a level playing field if some clubs have fans and other don't.

The FA/EPL should step and say all clubs or non at all.
