Far too early to comment or vote in the poll so I will give the club the benefit of doubt.

As it currently stands then we’re favourites to finish bottom.

It will need a good transfer window and some brilliance from Bilić to mastermind our survival

anybody lost the zest for football, by the way relegated. i would be amazed out of all teams if we stay up
Absolutely this, it's going to be a miserable season most likely and i've got absolutely no enthusiasm for what's about to come. it sounds pessimistic but as soon as i saw the fixtures come out i thought 'meh, so what' and it'll take a lot to change that mindset.

Not really doom and gloom is it, more a realistic look at the squad as it stands.

Because of the loan players going back, we're lighter than last season. So many are untested at this level, and we faltered over the line as it was.

Anybody expecting anything other than relegation just isn't being realistic; we don't currently have enough income to make this squad competitive.

Based on the current squad and manager and only £25 million to spend. We will do well to not finish bottom.

Can you post the email from the club confirming the transfer budget ?

Not quite from the horses mouth, but we all known revenue is down and overdrafts need paying off.

Relegation with us being the strongest team holding up the rest 20 th. Mediocre targets and reported £25 million suggests owner is following our yo yo years. Prepared to spend on players to get us out of Championship but not willing to spend on quality to keep us in prem.

With the squad as it is now - 20th by some distance.  If we can bring some quality in then we may be able to be in the fight to stay up but with our announced budget of 'not a lot' I'm not feeling confident at all at this moment in time.

I think we've looked at Covid and how that might affect attendances and TV money over the next 4 years and decided to not commit to anything. we're going to get hammered.

I've gone bottom, purely based on what I foresee our recruitment as being.

Johnstone, Townsend, Bartley, Livermore, Phillips and HRK are going to play a lot of football for us this season I reckon so I hold out limited hopes on that basis. Hopefully Slav can work more miracles.

We'd be struggling in ordinary times. But there have been just 7 weeks or so between seasons, we barely limped over the line for promotion and we've done nothing to improve our squad. If we don't finish bottom we've done well.

It's way too early to say anything yet and normally I don't comment on these kind of threads until the deals are done.

However, I think with our reported spending it would be a big deal for us to stay up. I'm happy we got promoted and will try and enjoy the season given the circumstances in the world. However, I'm not hoping for much. The only way I think we can survive is if we somehow pull of an Odemwingie type signing but it's unlikely. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

Taking the blue and white specs on, i'd expect relegation at this stage. Despite the positives of signing Pereira and Diangana, plus the likelihood of signing Robinson and Krovinovic, we did end last season with some really poor form and up to this ppint, we haven't actually improved the first team that ended last season.

Even with some improvements to the first team, we still have an uphill battle as it is such a competetive league, so without them I back us to go down.

If we do make 3 successful signings to play as striker, defensive mid and left back, then we could stay up, but it will mean some impressive scouting and negotiating.

Getting Krov and Robinson gives us a starting point.  Get us those plus a striker (and I know there's no chance, but a new keeper), and we have a chance to stay up. Just can't see our defence getting enough of an improvement.

I just wish we were playing those important early games in front of a full house.
Leicester would really not fancy turning up to a packed Hawthorns on the first day with the home crowd in full voice.

We have not even at the moment got the team back we had last season. But seem to be getting there. Kipper looks good Button could push the competition up? But still in my view a way to go yet. The team we have may fare better with less games (But more intense) Jury still out at mo.

Not seen this posted elsewhere but came across this on Twitter:

https://www.statsperform.com/resource/evolution-or-revolution-west-bromwich-albion/

Doesn't make for pleasant reading. It highlights what we all know - we were defensively frail, particularly at set pieces, and we relied on our good first of the season to crawl across the line
