Carabao Cup Round 3 - Crystal Palace (H)
« on: August 29, 2018, 12:58:46 PM »
When and where does the draw take place?
The Carabao Cup third round draw will take place on Thursday August 30.
It will be held at Sky Sports Studios in Isleworth, London.

What time does the draw take place?
The draw will take place after 7pm.

Obviously squad selection will depend on the drawn opposition but I would like to see Moore getting back to the first team but with a couple of fringe players who have a realistic chance of getting first team action.
Thoughts?

Also who do you fancy for next round? Who don't you want to face?

I've gone for option 4 although if we draw another lower league side I'm happy to continue with the current blueprint.

Don't really care who we get as long as it's a home tie. Pity (for me) there are no Yorkshire teams left in as an away game would have been a shorter drive. Think Derby is about the nearest to me.

Why would you want to draw them, all it will do is give them a chance to humiliate us as we did them the last time we met.

Not scared of them in the slightest. They've got 2 points from 9 in the Premier League despite playing against ten men twice they're not as special as they think they are. Mind you given the mentality of their fans who think they're somewhere around the Barcelona / Real Madrid status they never will be.

If we draw them, bring them on.

Lower league side at home or, if it has to be away, Oxford or Macc. Would have said Blackpool if it was a Saturday.

I want the Dingles, would be great.

Bravado is all well and good until you have to shut up and put up.
Even though they don't have the points on the board yet, footballing wise they'd leave us standing

Crystal Palace at home.

Pre draw, I thought the perfect test for our yougnsters and squad players would be a lower mid table prem team and Palace was the one that kept coming to mind.

Perfect draw for the likes of Burke, Leko, Edwards, Harper and Field to test themselves.

No room or time for messing about with the kids if we want to progress and hopefully Roy will rest players like zaha

In the prem, we should go for a cup win 100%, but our chances in this league are thin unless we go quite far.

This is the perfect chance for the kids who did well this week to face a much sterner test. It is almost a free hit.

Yes, supplement the team with the odd first team player to give us a chance, but I want to see the likes of Harper, Field, Leko and Edwards get chances in this game. Lets see if they can do it vs a better standard of player.

I can't see uncle Roy playing a full strength team when they have the premier league to be concerned with. I like us to go mainly full strength with a few youngsters.

No full strength side.

These kids deserve the opportunity to further their development against good quality opposition.

We're not going to win this competition, so I'd much rather us go out with plenty of positives to take.

Edwards, Leko, Harper, Field & Burke all need to start.
