What run in would you prefer?
« on: March 21, 2011, 06:30:29 PM »
It's without doubt we have tough fixtures between now and the end of the season but I actually think it's possibly better than having the likes of Wigan, West Ham etc.

For those who don't know the other clubs remaining fixtures I'll post them for you;

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Newcastle  - Away
Everton - Home
Fulham -   Home
Birmingham -  Away
West Brom -  Home
Sunderland  - Away
Blackburn -  Home

Birmingham City

Bolton -  Home
Blackburn  - Away
Sunderland -  Home
Chelsea -  Away
Liverpool -  Away
Wolverhampton -  Home
Newcastle - Away
Fulham -  Home
Tottenham -  Away

Wigan Athletic

Tottenham - Home
Chelsea - Away
Blackpool - Away
Sunderland - Away
Everton - Home
Aston Villa - Away
West Ham - Home
Stoke - Away

West Ham United

Man United - Home
Bolton - Away
Aston Villa - Home
Chelsea - Away
Man City - Away
Blackburn - Home
Wigan - Away
Sunderland - Home

Aston Villa

Everton - Away
Newcastle - Home
West Ham - Away
Stoke - Home
West Brom - Away
Wigan - Home
Arsenal - Away
Liverpool - Home

Blackpool

Fulham - Away
Arsenal - Home
Wigan - Home
Newcastle - Home
Stoke - Home
Tottenham - Away
Bolton - Home
Man United - Away

Blackburn Rovers

Arsenal - Away
Birmingham - Home
Everton - Away
Man City - Home
Bolton - Home
West Ham - Away
Man United - Home
Wolves - Away

Fulham

Blackpool - Home
Man United - Away
Wolves - Away
Sunderland - Away
Liverpool - Home
Birmingham - Away
Arsenal - Home

Stoke City

Chelsea - Home
Tottenham - Away
Aston Villa - Away
Blackpool - Away
Arsenal - Home
Man City - Away
Wigan - Home

Newcastle United

Wolves - Home
Aston villa - Away
Blackpool - Away
Liverpool - Away
Birmingham - Home
Chelsea - Away
West Brom - Home

Those are the fixtures of the teams down there. Any teams fixtures you prefer or would swap for ours? Any teams you're worried about picking up points? Personally, I like our run in, draws against the likes of Wigan at this stage of the season become pointless if teams above you are picking up points.

Wolves have the best run in by far.

But having said that, the closer you get to the end of the season, the more strange results you see occuring.  You just take it one game at a time.

One things for sure, I hope Villa lose their next 2 as they'll be rigght up the swanny if that happens.

There are so many games between those teams that the mathematical permutations are probably virtually impossible to sort out - but it should get pretty spicy when there's 3 or 4 left, and if we're still out of the bottom three then I'll be dead happy.

I'm sure they still have to play away at Stoke as well, but they should be on course for a top half finish with these fixtures!

Let's hope their Jekyll and Hyde results continue until the end of the season considering they have failed to beat Wigan and West Ham  ::)

I mean, who HASN'T beaten Wigan and West Ham...... :-X

Results against Arsenal and Man United have more or less patched up that!

stokes isnt a great run in - pity they won on Saturday.

Villa is a nasty one as they finish with two hard games.

As we all keep saying, our two local derbys are pivotal for us.

They all are tough games, but I think Blackburn have the worst run in, If Stoke lose there next two games which is possible as they play Chelsea and Spurs then they right in it.

Everyone is beating everyone else at some point this season so its irrelevant on the run in really, take us for example took 4 points of Arsenal, and 1 point off Wigan! I know its a cliche but you get relegated over the season not the run in, should be an exciting last few weeks anyway!!

I would much rather have the run in we have. I wouldn't fancy the teams around us in the run in as they are pressure games.

No one expected us to get a point against Arsenal but we did. Flip that and lose to a relegation rival then not only have you lost but your relegation rival as gained massively.

I keep saying it but the trickiest one is the Villa run in. They still have to play us away, west ham away, Arsenal away, Everton away and still got newcastle, Wigan, Stoke and pool at home.

I would much rather have our run in than there's in all honesty.
