Starting to score a lot more, but still quite a long way off Fulham and Newcastles's goal difference. So we'll just have to beat them on points! :)

Weren't Villa 7 points adrift with 4 to play last season?

No, they were 4 points adrift with 4 to play.

Call it 9 points adrift. We CAN do this.

Cheers. Based on the next 4 fixtures I'd back us to get 5 more points than Newcastle across those games.

I love the optimism and truly want you to be right. Try as I might though, I just cannot see it. Leicester and Villa away are next two. Very tough games both of them.

All we can do is win every match.  If we win the next 5 in a row then we are basically safe.

If we carry on this swashbuckling style then we can win 5 in a row.

The balance in the team right now is fantastic.

Our team right now is top 6 or 7 in terms of actual standard.

Villa tough, they are awful without Grealish.  Revenge will be sweet.

Going to be very hard fo keep up that long. Just takes one slip up, card, injury or something to knock everything out of balance.

Chelsea away is tough. Southampton home is tough.

Every game is a cup final. If we can get close to Newcastle / Brighton / Burnley then we have a chance, they all have difficult fixtures and it wouldn't surprise me if a couple of them of them lose five or six of their last seven games.

They don't though.
As I’ve pointed out recently, some people remember your predictions about other clubs’s demise as they were failing.. then they suddenly recovered, and were promoted/not relegated.

Seriously guys look at the table and do the maths,
I’ve used both fingers and toes. Applied the simple formula of games and points achievable, and ran out of digits. You must have more digits. ☺️

While conveniently forgetting numerous correct predictions. But hey ho...

Most predictions mean nothing. Anyone can predict. No-one cares. When you predict that a rival club will or won’t do something, and your prediction is as an easy one to make, and others advise you not to tempt fate when you make it, some of us remember when you got it wrong. Badly wrong.

All predictions are easy, they're just an opinion of what will happen, I do well enough with the bookies that I'm not concerned about my level of judgement.

There is no such thing as tempting fate. Any more than there is a little magic man in the sky judging everything you do.

I was confident Villa (I believe you're referencing - who I don't see as main rivals) would be relegated. Only a failure of Goal Line Tech, something that has never happened before or since, prevented that outcome.

Anyway back on topic, I think we'll stay up at the expense of Newcastle,  I think the Brighton and Burnley run ins offer far higher chance of points.

If we carry on this swashbuckling style then we can win 5 in a row.

For reference, we've never won 5 in a row in the modern Premier League..!
We've only won 4 in a row once back in November 2012~   (Southampton, Wigan, Chelsea, Sunderland)

Furthermore, in all previous Premier League seasons we've won a maximum of three games in the last seven. (10/11, 11/12, 14/15, 17/18)

I do well enough with the bookies that I'm not concerned about my level of judgement.

I'd say this sentence is almost ironic...!  :-X ;D

So what.  The set of players right now represent easily our best premier league team.

The fact is right now on 13/4/21 we are a better team than Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham.

Take each match as it comes.  Winning 5 games in a row is possible if we continue to play on the front foot.

6 points and back to backs against decent opposition means the belief in the team is there.
Plain to see.
Look at the football and pressing in the first half last night.
Yes, it’s improbable but one game at a time lads and let’s just see........
And I stayed up till 3am Down Under to witness that emphatic 4-0 win. Which it was.

Also from memory they only got approx 35pts which won't be enough this season. Ashley having a Watford moment an sacking Bruce may help  ;D

Many have said before, 'it's the hope that kills you'
21 points to play for, I hate to say it but it is doable, we might need a bit of help from the teams above us but it is doable.

Weren't Villa 7 points adrift with 4 to play last season?

I think they were in the same position as us.

8 points adrift with 6 or 7 games remaining.

There was a photo of going round of it last night

Winning the next 5 would actually take it to 7 wins in a row!

I’m not sure how many clubs in the last 10 years have gone on runs where they have won 7 in a row other than City and Liverpool!

On Saturday it was over for some because we couldnt have Newcastle pick up another three points, now for some it’s not over for some because we could win the next five in a row.  I’m not sure how realistic some of these thought processes are.

We could win 3 in a row twice with a draw in-between, I suppose I might settle for that...

Some context in the above. Winning 11 in a row in all comps is enough to get you in to in to the top 17 longest winning runs  by a top flight side in the last 125 years. Those runs could involve a couple of lower league cup draws.

Yes the list will get exponentially bigger as you drop to 10,9,8,7 game winning runs, but it’ll still not going to be a regular occurrence.
