Real Madrid one of the teams allegedly after him according to reports.

Not being funny but Hegazi is nowhere near the level that would be required to play for Real Madrid. He would have no chance of replacing Ramos or Varane, not to mention the back up options they have.

If we don't get promoted then I imagine we will get interest from some mid table prem teams but I cant see him playing for a team any higher than that.

I think hegazi would hold his own in a top team when called upon, maybe not as a regular starter or a star, but 10-20 appearances a season.

Some bang average players (relatively by top elite standards) particularly defenders have got away with playing semi regularly at top sides that control more of the ball / game and limit their exposure.

I still can’t see Hegazi going to Real Madrid mind but I’d rather put him on than Matip if I we’re at Liverpool for instance.

I think you're bang on.

He's better than Jonny Evans (as a good example).

Not that hard, terribly over rated central defender, was actually better at full back.

If we can get back what we paid for him, I'd take it.

In a back three maybe not, in a back four he's far too good for the championship and any premier league club with sense would go after him - I'd be amazed if he went for anything less than £15m

I agree, he's been one of the few stand out performers this season.

Shout out to Hegazi, the man is a colossus. We haven't won a single match this season when he was unavailable.

Absolute rock tonight.

Even better when you consider he ended the game in a back four of Mears Bartley and Townsend.

The PSG midfielder/winger? What's he got to do with Hegazi being linked with both Stoke and Real Madrid?

Yes I know he played for Stoke in the premier league but as soon as they were relegated he wanted out and got his move..hardly the same thing as a defender playing nearly a season of Championship football being linked with arguably the biggest club in the world and Championship Stoke City.

I too have said, in other posts, that he's been one of our shining lights this season.
I think we will struggle to hold on to him next season whatever division we're playing in

I was pointing out the polar opposites
Stoke reserves  to PSG
similar to us to Real Madrid ?

Wonder how Hegazi will react when he returns seeing how thin the squad is looking.
Might be wrong but I would expect him to be one of the higher earners and there is interest in him at the moment (vile)
Could be an interesting chat between him and Bilic.

Need some bodies in before he's return to make sure he isn't disinterested in the cause

Our defence was appalling last season and cack in the PL the year before. Yes keep him but I'm not getting carried away.
