If McLeish had done that in his 2nd game, the Villa fans would have been calling for his head (well, they were). But funnily enough they don't blame Lambert one bit.

Rooney's gruesome leg gash (warning, it is a bit nasty, so be warned if you're sensitive to that sort of thing):

Pretty sure this will have been mentioned but available on the bbc I player at the moment is a programme called The Most Amazing Premier League Moments Ever. For anyone with the time and inclination this is well worth a watch it contains some brilliant and very funny moments from the last 20 years.

David Dunns "Ronaldo Move" (not) is an absolute classic among many. Check it out.

Haha

"Call it a draw"  :D

I haven't seen it yet so can't understand how it happened. I remember James Vaughan severing an artery in his leg before. Nasty stuff.

I don't know if it is a good thing or bad..

but with Sunderland v Reading being postponed (when will it be played?)

Reading now will have a League Cup Tie on Tuesday and then nothing until Sunday 16th of September..

That is a pretty big gap for this time in the season

Luka Modric will probably be off to Madrid then in the next couple of days. Gotta admit, though I'm a Baggie through and through, that little maestro always amazed me :)

Luka Modric will be back in England in 2 years time, Pointless signing for Madrid, Cant see him playing much at all. Spurs did well to get a big fee for him. He is a very good player but am not he is good enough for Real Madrid.

In other news Joey Barton looks like he will leave QPR on a free, what a stupid idiot he really is. How many chances does he need? Hopefully he does go to France and we never hear of him again.

And Scott Sinclair is off to Man City, Pretty stupid move by him. He was poor at Chelsea and Wigan. Did ok at Swansea but nothing special. But atleast he played at Swansea.

Disagree with you on Modric. He's class - should've been wearing a spanish shirt when Croatia played Spain in the Euros.

But I agree with everything else you say. Sinclair is something I can't understand.

Let’s hope so - he’s never going to be man enough to keep out of trouble – you would have though his brother’s plight might have made him see things a bit differently?

“Still not my proudest moment but who gives a ****, we are safe and that is all that matters

"I hope to move on with my career, with my life. If that is in France, so be it. I don't want to be disrespectful to QPR but enough is enough."

How quickly things change - his heart may be in Marseille but his head will always be firmly up his backside!

Carroll will score goals, not sure Jarvis is what they think though. The Carroll signing could have just kept them up.

Andy Carroll is just the sort of player Big Sam likes, whether or nor he is any good for them I don't know, but considering Liverpool paid £35 million for him and now are letting him out to West Ham makes it look like they may have a problem behind the scenes.

Joey Barton to Marseille.  Good riddance to him (I actually got banned from a forum for saying what I thought of him)  I can honestly say I am glad to see the back of him as he is always seemingly causing or at the centre of any trouble.

Man City and Spurs both spent big in the last day, and QPR bought players hand over fist.  (That may prove to be problematical for them.  How do you keep so many signings happy?

For everyone else it seems to have been a satisfactory last day, apart perhaps from Man Utd, who I think didn't bother to sign a single player?  (I may be wrong there)

West Ham Fulham on in a bit.

If everything Jack Collison is going to say is so obvious then he should shut up - so annoying!

I must be in a bad mood today!

The assets he had at Swansea meant his football worked because he had pace. Liverpool are about as quick as Steptoes Hoss.
