He didn't play one forward ball all the time he was on the field. Safe ball every time either sidewards or backwards. He is a sizeable downgrade on Phillips.

If DM had any intention of playing Field in midfield he'd have eased him in via this game. Looks as if he's bombed him out completely, which is tragic - he looked good enough for the prem. We're shooting ourselves in the foot (but will still be able to run faster than Brunt or Barry).

Hull, I think you're right where a forward doesn't score loads, then he can still be valuable because of other aspects of his game. But to be honest, if we had someone who'd bang in 20 a season from the assists we provide then I wouldn't care what other aspects of his game there were or weren't.

I think it's up to the players as they receive all the money from them.Perhaps their agents could arrange it and actually do something useful for their money (without skimming anything off the top of what the testimonial raises).

DARREN Moore believes Kyle Bartley can prove a major acquisition for Albion as the Club sets about regaining Premier League status.
The Head Coach has added the towering defender to his options for the back-line, a signing which follows the recruitment of keeper Sam Johnstone.
“I’ve been aware of Kyle for a long time and kept my eye on his career as it has graduated - and I’m absolutely delighted we have got him,†says Darren.

Just as long as that's not the equivalent of TP thinking James Chester could play at right back - has Bartley ever played anywhere other than CB?
