Barry, Hoolahan, Brunt and Livermore all on the pitch - what is the formation now? Genuine question, as I'm not watching. Has Brunt gone to the left side?

Isn't it a stupid business, this football? If they'd scored the penalty last night they'd have been outside the play-off places on goal difference. What do owners reckon their managers have to do these days?

Does anyone know if Field is used at centre back in training? Or does he train as a midfielder and is just told to go out and play CB in the Carabao?

He didn't play one forward ball all the time he was on the field. Safe ball every time either sidewards or backwards. He is a sizeable downgrade on Phillips.
Nice sideways ball for Gibbs' goal, according to the reports.

Third in the table, one point off being equal top. They’ve clearly no idea have they?
Yes, they have some idea, possibly quite a lot. But that doesn't mean we can't point out where we think they're missing a trick.

Should be Field. Will be Brunt.

I'm struggling so hard with the concept of a 'routine 4-0 win' over lower-league opposition. PLEASE bring those days back.

Berahino scores his first goal  for two and a half years tonight.
Getting his eye in for the weekend.  :(

If DM had any intention of playing Field in midfield he'd have eased him in via this game. Looks as if he's bombed him out completely, which is tragic - he looked good enough for the prem. We're shooting ourselves in the foot (but will still be able to run faster than Brunt or Barry).

Thanks, AF, for posting that. What a good bloke and what a hash the club made of it.
I hope something works out for him.

I'm looking forward to us actually attacking a lower-league team, after seasons of bleah in the cups rather than going for it.

If it's not Johnstone in goal it ought to be Bond, not Myhill. (Is his name Bond? Seems to have vanished.)

Hal Robson-Kannot.

With either Dawson or GMac we would probably have won it from goals scored from corners. Unfortunately all we had was Heghazi.
But I don't want to see us relying on set piece goals anyway.

Chadli has put a picture on twitter of him running on a track in Marbella. Why isn't he back training or getting back to fitness with us.
Probably still in the holiday period players are supposed to take after the world cup.

What colour is he going for Atomic?
Gold and black this year, but hopefully redecorating navy and white next year.

Probably cheapskates, I grant you, but possibly Leicester wouldn't let him go any other way and we thought he was worth having.

Hull, I think you're right where a forward doesn't score loads, then he can still be valuable because of other aspects of his game. But to be honest, if we had someone who'd bang in 20 a season from the assists we provide then I wouldn't care what other aspects of his game there were or weren't.

Not really like arranging your own surprise party as there is no surprise element to it. I think it's up to the players as they receive all the money from them.

Perhaps their agents could arrange it and actually do something useful for their money (without skimming anything off the top of what the testimonial raises).

I'm sure he can discuss offers with his agent at any time, or how will he know what's going on? Can't discuss with the other club, though.

Interesting comments from Big Dave in the article below that he can play in different positions and that it gives us options regarding how we set up. We've only seen a 4-4-1-1 with Big Dave really so interesting as to what this refers to tactically.

https://www.wba.co.uk/news/2018/july/im-absolutely-delighted-we-have-got-him---moore/

DARREN Moore believes Kyle Bartley can prove a major acquisition for Albion as the Club sets about regaining Premier League status.

The Head Coach has added the towering defender to his options for the back-line, a signing which follows the recruitment of keeper Sam Johnstone.

“I’ve been aware of Kyle for a long time and kept my eye on his career as it has graduated - and I’m absolutely delighted we have got him,” says Darren.

“I think this lad has got great presence and can also be a very adaptable defender. I believe he can play in different positions which gives me greater options in terms of how we might set up.

Just as long as that's not the equivalent of TP thinking James Chester could play at right back - has Bartley ever played anywhere other than CB?

Do we get any compensation from Belgium if he's out because injured on international duty?
