Villa would be daft to sack him

Still a long way to go and if they do drop he's proven at this level

Is he?

Nothing to let go. Jacko has a real dislike of a manager who got a team promoted from the Championship, it just so happened that I championed him to be our manager at the time when we had a vacancy whereas Jacko championed the guy who is currently 14th in League One.

It’s all history now, of course. Will be more than happy to see Mr. Smith take the lovely Aston lot down this season.

I also  have a real dislike of Smith and didn't want him anywhere near the Albion looks like we where right. As for Darren Moore he shouldn't have been given the job in the first place but he was not his fault. Show the bloke some respect.

Random comment? He's about to get sacked by Villa after getting thoroughly found out. The current Doncaster manager has a hugely better PL record, though I have no idea why you've even brought him up. Villa finished below us and were well below us when Darren was sacked.

The worrying thing for me is Poch is available and who knows?
Comedy that cannot be written

“POCH , this is the squad, meet Wesley.....apparently a striker”😂😂😂

Just watched the extended highlights on Sky. Love seeing Villa, especially Smith and Grealish being punished for their constant desire to play for frees and go down super easily. Got a player red carded out of it and still couldn't take advantage.
Also love the stupidness of the defender trying to play Deeney offside when Targett is two metres further back in plain sight playing him onside.

Villa's position while being precarious is still only a couple of wins away from being okay add to that most the bottom half of the division are only a couple of defeats away from being the next crisis club.

Unfortunately for Smith  they have just played 3 teams around them and while beating Norwich (sorry but I think they're toast) lost to  Watford and Southampton and played poorly in all 3. It is difficult to see where the wins are coming from but the next 8 games will pretty much seal their fate. Aside from Spurs and Man City they are playing teams from the bottom half including the return fixtures against Watford and Southampton.

If they are still in the bottom 3 at that point I think they are probably gone. If they are going to roll the dice on a managerial change then they need to do it before those fixtures otherwise it is going to be too late.

Don’t understand the Moore digs..Jimmy Shan gets disproportionate praise and Moore receives bugger all acknowledgement for the rubbish he took over and was given by the board.  Granted big mistake in his tactical approach to the champ and Graeme Jones was rotten but Big Dave started the turn around and brought real unity and respect back to the Albion.

Anyway this is a Villa thread: I find Smith very arrogant, hope they don’t dismiss him too soon though, would love to swap places with a return to the PL.

Aston Villa's Premier League survival hopes suffer blow with fears Tom Heaton and Wesley Moraes out for rest of season

They are getting more than their fair share of long term injuries.

They need signings in January else I don't see a way they can stay up. Losing McGinn was bad enough, but to lose your main striker and your first and second choice goalkeepers to injury is possibly a set back too far for a team in their position.

Grealish's performances alone won't keep them up, and Kodija was apparantly really poor when he came on to replace Wesley.

FFP will only hurt them if they get relegated, and they would just sell Jack for £60/70 million if that happens.

Well Squealish is a January transfer target for Man U apparently, so perhaps they are already spending their money...….

They're after everyone it seems, trying to buy their way out of trouble which is the reason they're struggling in the first place. I doubt Burnley would sanction it considering they're not out of the woods themselves, he's scored some important goals for them too.

It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.
