2-0. We'll keep it tight, like Leicester, but our defending is just not good enough to hold out for 90 mins any more.

Hopefully one of the keepers make it, think this could be a standard too high for the youngster with not much experience. Southampton will be a tough game. They are a very good team with a lot of talented players such as Gabbiadini, Tadic, van Dijk. A point would be a cracking result.

Think Pulis will target points from the next 2 away games seeing as we have Chelsea and Man City up next at home.
Would like to think that this means we go for wins at Saints and Huddersfield but sadly, think we will just go ultra defensive to strangle a point or nick a win with a set piece.
Understandable I suppose but uninspiring.

A win is worth 3 times the amount of points as a draw, it's a shame our manager doesn't seem to realise this. We'll grind out another bore-draw and end up with less points than if we had got a win in just one of the two games this week.

Saw Palmer warming up on Monday. Had to do a double take; thought we had Frazer Forster on the bench!

Goalkeeper Situation (Southampton Game)
« Reply #34 on: October 19, 2017, 01:08:59 PM »
Has anybody heard anything further on Myhill and Fosters injuries? The last I saw is that essentially we needed to assess them both during this week to see if either could play the game.

My own opinion on the matter is that if either of the two are not 100% ready for this weekend then we should stick young Alex Palmer between the sticks for the game and let the other two recuperate for the Man City game.

If Pulis goes to Palmer and says "You're the guy" for this week then i'm sure that will do wonders for his confidence and he'll do a good job for us, particularly after what happened against Leicester where it seemed like he didn't seem to trust him and replace Myhill.

Thoughts?

Rodriguez to score the winner in 96 th minute when Southampton keeper kicks him with ball and it hits his backside and finds back of net. Only shot on target by both sides  :P

I agree with you, but I think TP will be ultra-cautious and if Myhill is, say, 85% he'll play him rather than take a chance on Palmer.

Don't think trust came in to it against Leicester. Myhill obviously indicated to Pulis that he wanted to carry on so he did..end of.
if the Vardy incident had involved Foster and he didn't want to come off with Myhill being on the bench I doubt anyone would be questioning Pulis not making a substitution.

According to Physio room Myhill, Robson-Kanu and Morrison are slight doubts, Foster is a major doubt and there is no mention of Burke so maybe he's okay?

scroll down, we're just after West Ham.

Myhill muscle strain - at risk, Foster - highly unlikely

In which case, play Palmer for 1 game. Get's a game under his belt for Exp.

No it wouldn't they are not a very good team and with a proper manager with this team we should be going there to win.

They might not be a very good team (in your opinion) but they've got some bloody good players.

Tough game ahead.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Couldn't remember anything about Turnbull so I looked him up. Sounds like a walking disaster area.
Would far rather give Palmer a chance to make a Roy of the Rovers debut.

from wiki, made me loff.

In May 2015, Barnsley manager Lee Johnson revealed that he was relishing the prospect of the battle between goalkeepers Turnbull, Christian Dibble and Adam Davies, in the upcoming 2015-16 season, declaring that the best goalkeeper will be the clubs number 1.[29] On 6 July 2015, Turnbull was linked with a move to local rivals Leeds United.
