VI has said Clarke is available for selection and Snodgrass too. Just Tulloch (another 3 weeks now) and O'Shea out.

Imagine he will be on the bench, which is testament to how well Townsend has done at LCH. When Clarke and OShea got injured a lot thought we hadn't the depth to cope but Conor has slotted in seamlessly and has probably looked our most composed CH in recent games. Player of the season so far for me.

Townsend has done better than i thought he would at CB and i give him credit for that 100%

Yep it's taken us 35 mins to get off the Birmingham Road. Nightmare.

I'd love to see Diangana continue his recent improvement in form, really hoping he can kick on tonight and get on the score sheet. Can't see this one being 0 - 0......but I can see it being 3 - 3!!

I can’t see any of our games being 0-0. Our defence is our weak point - is this the game we get found out ? We need to hang in there until we get Clarke or O’Shea or both back fit.
Bartley & Ajayi are both uncomfortable with the high line.
Don’t expect the flowing football we had in the 2nd half against Cardiff - Stoke’s strongest area is their midfield. So don’t expect us to go through them, so imo we will go round them or over their midfield for Hugill to hold up. Or he may play Diangana, Robinson & Grant - interchanging positions, giving the Stoke defenders a nightmare trying to mark them?
Val knows what he wants - he has been the star so far. Can he keep the enthusiasm on a high?

Whilst Mowatt has shown his quality lately, the question remains whether he can do it on a cold, rainy Friday night in Stoke?

Tonight we will find out!

P.s. I genuinely don't know how this one will go.

I live 18 miles north of Stoke - blue skies at the moment but chilly, no rain.

Bartley and Ajayi combine to allow Stoke a 1v1, it literally went through Bartley's legs.  They hit the post.  We attempt to clear and Mowatt heads it back into our own box.  Stoke have good effort from outside the box.  Whistles wide.
