First Fixture - PL 2015/2016
« on: May 26, 2015, 10:15:23 AM »
Right, every single option there.

First fixtures will be 8,9 & 10 August and the fixture computer is probably starting its thing today.

Give your reasons why you would like it to be that particular fixture.

;D

Bournemouth Away for me. Height of the British summer and where else to be than beside the seaside. Although it is 50/50 whether it will be rain or shine!

Only about 750 - 1000 tickets available to away fans so I have heard.

I can imagine there won't be many. I won't even try but in an ideal world that would be the best first fixture 'If Carlsberg did away days'  ;D

Southampton Home - just because!

And I voted before reading the entire post and I thought it was who we think it will be for first game!

As its what we would like then Bournemouth please as others have said height of british summer

Liverpool at home. Always good to play the 'better' teams early on - though whether they now qualify as a 'better' team is debatable. Plus I seem to remember it going pretty well when we last played them on the opening day  ;D

Any of Bournemouth, Southampton, Swansea or Norwich away as they are a pain for me to get to and I'd like to get them out of the way asap!

You just know Bournemouth away will be on a Tuesday/Wednesday night in mid-winter. I think we will have Southampton or Sunderland home or away first match or if not opening day, within the first 3 games.

Sunderland at home - As I'd like to start with 3 points if possible.
Whenever things look bad, remember the Port Vale, Grimsby and Walsall days... not so bad now, eh?!

Remember our openingsfixture this season against them when we threw away two points by conceding so late. Wasn't happy that moment  :(

I've gone with West Ham away. Nice and bland. Good chance of a point at least. An away fixture to start is normally followed by two homes.

I quite fancy Watford at Home, they may have a new manager and all the upheaval that can bring might be a comfortable 3 points on the opening day and would be a good start only 37 to go  :D

Thought about the vile, then thought if they won the FA Cup and paraded that round the pitch on the opening day against us, well talk about rubbing salt into the wound! So,no vile please, unless they get thrashed on Saturday ;D

We have had Home games to start for the last four seasons so I reckon we will be away..

and we seem to have got Everton in the first few games for the last few seasons so...

Everton (A) :)

Liverpool and Man Utd don't usually start off well.

Any of the big boys away. Usually can't make the first game of the season so I'd rather not miss a home game I've paid for, or a ground I've not been to.

West Ham away - always a good trip and hopefully with the new manager, squad overhaul that will probably happen and starting early with the Europa will make it difficult for them

I 'think' it will be Chelsea away.

I 'hope' it isn't any of the promoted three clubs, and tbh somebody like Newcastle at home would be ideal.

If West Ham make it to the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League this match would be played on the Sunday. Were it to go ahead.
