Or the ones where we brought in the likes of Dorrans, Morrison, Brunt, Olsson, Mulumbu, Mcauley, Gera etc

On-topic, welcome Darnell, I'm really pleased with the direction our recruitment is taking. It finally feels like we're doing the rebuild we have needed for so long. Long may it continue.

But they weren't purchased all together, so I don't know what you mean.

I am not saying we haven't signed good cheap players, but these are costing less than Brunt cost 11 or so years ago.

Dowling will either rise or die with the success of these signings.

I hope it is the former, but I have supported the Albion for too long to expect that.

QPR fans rated him, meant to have a good attitude and has improved a lot over the years.

Welcome - another 4 year deal. We weren't signing players on long contracts for a while before, probably because we were signing lots of old men but still, we appear to be showing some foresight now.

Pleased with this one. Another player of the right age with potential. Finally stating to look a bit fresher. This is the kind of overhaul we should have done 12 months ago. Still better late than never.

Time will tell on the quality of these players but I'm pleased we are signing younger players with potential rather than older players looking for one last payday.

We're crying out for a decent right fullback, if this lad is it then so be it. Welcome to the club.

Furlong has said that he is hopefully linking up with Matty Phillips again down the right side.
Furlong says his strength is his fitness and stamina and his strengths are bombing up the flank and back.
He also said he will give 100% every time he plays and it is something Bilic is demanding of all the players.
He also said we have "crazy ambition" so i assume Bilic is making the right noises.

I must say i am pleased not only of the attitude with the players joining us, but also the lowering of the average age and the injection of pace all over the pitch.

I was impressed with Furlong last night when he came on some of the crosses he put where class. Just hope we get a goal scorer to get  on the end of them!

Think he was a lot better going forward for sure, but I really did like the kid that was on before him in the first half, seemed better defensivley than Furlong (Ferguson? I think)

wouldnt surprise me if Ferguson was better defensively, he’s a Centre Back!

well now he's also a right back

Albion: Johnstone, Ferguson (Furlong 46), Ajayi, Bartley (O'Shea 69), Townsend (Gibbs 46), Harper (Field 64), Livermore (c) (Brunt 64), Phillips (Leko 69), Krovinović, Edwards (Robson-Kanu 61), Zohore (Burke 46).

Ferguson looked the better of two against Bournemouth. Stronger, quicker, more decisive. I thought Furlong's passing was dodgy, quite a few aimless hoofs.

He's got to get used to a new team, new players around him, and a new set of tactics. I think he'll be alright long term.

Looks an absolute bargain at £1.5m this lad, thought he was great against Blackburn then MOM against Huddersfield, doesn't it feel good to actually have a decent right back? In fact two decent right backs with Ferguson also looking good. Long may it continue.

Agreed. When we signed him I read some of the opinions on the QPR forums which I can now confirm must have merely been salty over the fact he was leaving as they all said he was rubbish. He is far from rubbish, early days still but on the form to date, best attacking full back we have had for many years here.

He didn't float my boat when he first signed but I have to say he's been a revelation. His energy seems endless, his touch is usually very good, he's comfortable in possession, athletic and his decision making and intelligence in forward areas is excellent. Added to those qualities he's a threat from set pieces as well.

People wanted Mason Holgate to come back to us. This guy is a better player. Terrific signing.
