Just proves how few good managers there are to choose from at this stage of the season.

It doesn't, there are 8 at the top of the Championship before you look abroad. It shows a shocking old boys club mentality. He was sacked by a team below them in the league less than 3 months ago.

I'd be more than happy if we looked abroad, but clubs like ours have a very conservative attitude to recruitment. The boards or technical directors probably don't have much knowledge of overseas leagues, so they go for the tried and tested closer to home.
As far as managers with the top Championship clubs, I wouldn't assume they could all make the step up. You might argue we need someone who knows the Championship, but ideally you'd want someone who could build for the future, not just a short-term fix.
Anyway, let's see what Mark Jenkins comes up with.

No manager in the top 8 of the championship would go to Saints at this stage of the season, which is what the comment was about.

I would suggest Colin and Brucey are firmly in the old school british bracket as well
the road to the summit has dips, keep the faith when navigating those dips !!

Hopefully Hughes does a good job, saves them from relegation and gets offered a contract in the summer.

One less Championship for the prawn sandwich brigade to talk to about our impending vacancy.....

Think it's very much an interim appointment. He get's it permanent their entire squad and culture will get shaken to the core.

Always thought Savage was a sandwich short of a picnic.  Well his latest column depicting Hughes as  Corberan who will keep the Saints up has confirmed it.!!!

Ridiculous comparison - he's won the Champions League twice, once on a tiny budget and the second time on a far smaller budget with Inter compared to the other teams. He's won countless leagues and wins trophies non-stop.

Comparing Mourinho to TP is ridiculous

Mourinho has won countless titles

I can’t believe people making that comparison  :-X

Looking at the news today I see that the usual suspects are sniffing around Salah for about £200m....

Another player the 'genius' Mourinho had in his side and couldn't get a tune out of.....like De Bruyne and Lukaku :)

and we can probably add Sanchez to that list too.

I see the 'hand shandy' boys are at it again.

This is off the BBC website and in the Times apparently

West Ham United are in a fresh legal dispute with London Stadium's landlords over who should pay for a series of costs including providing draught beer, Sky TV and hospitality staff.

What do they actually pay for as a club?

Would be hilarious if they went down with us. There is not one redeeming feature about that club.

Who is going to be joining us in the Championship? At the moment I can't look beyond Southampton and Stoke City it is difficult to see either getting another 10 points from their remaining fixtures. The only other club I think might finish below either of them is Huddersfield.

Is Mark Hughes falling into the same trap as Pardew has with us ? He's picking 2 up top and yesterday had Redmond and Tadic wide leaving them light in the engine room...they were certainly wide open to attacks first half. He's got his work cut out.
