Hillsborough was a graveyard for Albion from 1966 to 2000. Some miserable defeats in that period, with the semi final defeat being the most painful.

And yet it hasn't been one for us for well over thirty years. The results between 1966 and 2000 are a matter of record and yet they hold zero significance for either of our clubs.

I think they've got a decent boss and some dangerous players but at the same time so have we. Hate banging on about this but cut out the sloppy mistakes and they'll know they've been in a game.

I don't really bother with predictions as games can be affected by any number of uncontrollables. That said if we focus on what we're good at and the players maintain their levels of concentration I'm looking at this game with more confidence than trepidation.

I think our squad will have the edge over theirs (capability), right tactics and attitude, fair officials and we can take 3 points.

Allocation is 3,800. Looked on the ticket site yesterday and there were about 140 left. Personally think that's a very good turnout, especially given the pricing, for a 12:30hrs kickoff which is available on Sky.

Blocks WL5, WL4 and WL3 haven't been opened as of yet.  Looks like we'll have around 3,000 there which is still bloody good considering the pricing and kick off time.

Didn't even realise it was the lower tier that's on sale now. So it's ok to give WBA tickets on the lower tier at £39 a pop but they're only on sale to home supporters when they're charging £27. Great. Even happier I'm not going. Chancer can shove it even further up his dark passage.

I guess now we have some of the lower tier there’s over 4000 baggies now?

Not to bad for a lunchtime kickoff on tv

I think the allocation was only 3,800 in total and some of the blocks in the lower tier have not been open for sale yet, looks like they are selling a block at a time.
I still looks a good following given the price/time of the game.

I thought the top tier held 3,800. They then open the bottom tier for bigger allocations and cup games, might be wrong

Last season when we only had the top tier, the allocation was 2,400.

So I am wrong!

Won’t be trusting footballgroundguide again, they reckon that stand holds 8,000 when you include the corner.

Looks like there will be just under 3,000 of us there unless we shift many more tickets today and tomorrow.

Bit disappointing if so as we took around that in April and fans were desperate for more tickets plus the start we have had.

Yes i hope we can at least take it over 3,000 but none of the lower blocks have sold out by the looks of it, i guess the price has been the final straw for many deciding if they would attend.

Shame about the price but I wonder how similar clubs manage to sell out in similar circumstances?
Oxford will have massive demand for many less tickets so I expected this to be a great chance for a 4K following even allowing for high price.

Yes but last season wasn't a lunchtime kick off or on TV or £39 a ticket. All factors people will consider.

The only similar sized club Wednesday have played so far this season is Leeds which is only a stones throw away and it was a Friday night game. Transport between the two cities is a lot easier than between West Midlands and Sheffield.

Are there any pubs near the ground likely to welcome us or are we being advised to stick to the pubs in the city centre ?

The corner is never used and I'm not sure the stand has ever held that much in recent times.

The Sheffield Advisory Group have made recommendations in recent seasons that the allocation needed to be reduced. There's only around 1,300 allowed in the bottom which means all seats aren't sold.

This had never been an issue in recent times as Wednesday, Leeds, Sheff United, Arsenal etc had all managed to allocate around 4,000 in the stand with no issues. Newcastle turned up, caused a stink online which was supported by the media and the deductions were later applied.

Just came on here to see as been on that site, but I saw on a Sheff Wed board that last year SY police banned all away fans from any pubs near Hillsborough.

Anyone know of any friends or Weds fans that have mentioned anything?
