Not sure why loads of people thought this was an easy game, they play better football than the league position shows and it’s taken a few games for them to get going, going by how many times we hit the post I think we had a bit more today but not the routine win expected. We draw this game last season.
If those 3 shots gone in that hit the post it would have been easy

Credit to Plymouth - thought they were better than most expected. A nice, tidy well coached outfit who are short of a number nine.

We were very pragmatic and got the win we needed. It could have been more comfortable had we not cannoned the post three times.

Cole was always the backup and even he has said as much, the problem is I don’t think we were expecting to have the players we do, no evidence of it but I think there is a play agreement in Dobbin’s loan which means we’re having to jam him into the striker role as he doesn’t get into the team on the wings currently. IF mana got injured the it’s a straight swap with Cole and Dobbin stays as the sub.

If Dobbins is on a guaranteed play deal we need to use the termination clause and send him back in Jan. Dike is back soon.

similar to the swansea game for me should have been out of sight by half time.

good to see a strong mentality in the team however to grind out a result, sets us up well going forward.

I agree about the strong mentality, I’ve watched us to many times get frustrated in games like that and loose 1-nil.

Why would we terminate this player’s deal? He may prove useful during what is a very long season. I doubt if there’s anything in place to say he’s got to play.

Because he's playing in place of a striker, not the players fault of course.

I agree the guaranteed play condition doesn't sound likely but if he has to start if Maja is injured then that means Dike also sitting out when he returns.

I really don't think Dobbin, who's only real experience of senior football was a not particularly successful League One loan was of a profile that there'd be much strings attached to the deal.

In general there's no such thing as a guaranteed play deal either. Some deals are along the lines that you pay a reduced/no fee for the player if you play them, but again I can't imagine Dobbin having some expensive loan fee/wages either way.

I'm saying he isn't worth a guaranteed pay deal. Hunnington Baggie said that he thinks Dobbin DOES have such a deal hence Cole bombed out and Dobbin plays instead.

Blimey talk about scratching around to find something to moan about. We are top of the league with a manager who is a perfectionist. I will call for Dobbin to go when Carlos deems he doesn't want him anymore.

Was a solid win. I felt we did enough. Plymouth did play well
