Has any one managed to find a reasonably priced train ticket for this game?
Tickety Split has been no help so far but still moving options around. Possible ASLEF strike action also not helping and moving dates just adds to the probable hotel costs instead  ::)
Assumes I can get a HSTH ticket tomorrow too

I thought the coach from the Hawthorns at £32 was expensive until I saw the train prices! Cheapest I could find was £72 from New St.

I was going to drive but it's around a 10hr round trip from Hull.

Guess I should have said looking for a train from the general Birmingham area
My knackered old knees on me longish legs wouldn't be overly happy with that length of a charabanc trip
Last time I was in the area I was doing training in the Haslar Navy Hospital and it was a very long time ago

I’d say 200-240 seats
With about 80 safe standing left

I’d advise anyone thinking of going by train to have a proper look at the journey, there are issues on the line before fratton (nearest to the ground) with a rail replacement bus that adds at least 45 mins to any journey both ways .

Thanks Zippy. I'll cross my fingers till I can get one of Wednesday

As for your train comments I assume that's heading deon from Midlands.

Safe standing secured. The ticket office coming online at 10am is a blessing rather than phone queues. Especially with seat selection.

Anyone going down early, pre-pub, pre-match and have a couple of hours to spare, try visiting the D-Day exhibition in Portsmouth. Well worth seeing.

Don't suppose any ST holder who can't make it would consider doing me a favour please?

Bloke on WBA twitter said there's only about 20 tickets left for this, would someone buy me one and i will give them the money and a fiver on top please? I'm only a member so bound to sell it before Wednesday.

Cheers

Tickets have now sold out for Albion’s Sky Bet Championship trip to Portsmouth.

The Baggies will be backed by 2,171 supporters at Fratton Park on Sunday, September 15 (ko 3pm).

The match will be Albion’s first at Portsmouth’s home since April 2009.

Trains look horrible already. Going away the day after, can't wait to get stuck in Pompey and infuriate the missus.

Had a quick look online yesterday. Think most problems revolve around coach/bus services from Havant to Fratton from both Birmingham and London. It's a fifteen minute Uber ride from Havant to Fratton though so there's always that.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
