Not impressed with our team selection. I don’t believe that Ajayi and Bartley can play together in the centre and Grant is not the answer on the left.

JM for Diakité is the only shock for me. Always thought he was unlikely to throw any other new lads in and don’t think we had a tonne of other options to change it up

Yes I get it too but there’s no goals in that team and it’s weak at the back and middle. I’d take a draw but fear our 100% unbeaten record is at risk this afternoon!

I personally don't get all the negativity around Ajayi, he's had some bad days, but haven't they all?

A bit put out by that first team sheet of the season.

My main negative is that after a full pre season, with plenty of signings, the only one Corberan thinks he can use is Heggem at left back - after hinting that he sees Heggem long term as a centre back.

Early signs therefore that he doesnt feel the signings we have made are better than those who are left. Diakite the biggest ommision there.

Grant, Molumby and Ajayi all out of favour last season, now all starters. Grant was a willing runner for Cardiff last season but his goal tally has dried up to the point that you feel he will only ever be prolific at league 1 level.

Another 2-3 signings really needed. I do hope a youngster dods something big from the bench.

He’s just not good as a pairing with Bartley - both right-footed. Really struggled at Blues last week in the same defensive line up.

That line-up doesn't fill me with much confidence. Can't see us scoring many with Grant and Maja as 2 of our forwards. Bit of a shock to see Diaktie left out for Molumby, but maybe he's just not that special.
On the positive side, it does take time for new players to bed in, getting to know a new system and what's expected, so maybe CC just wants to ease them in.

Expect at least 3 on bench to be assimilated into starting positions over the next few games

CC seems to bring in new starters only when he is absolutely sure that they have grasped what he wants them to do tactically.  Sometimes two same footed CBs work cf Dara/Bartley. Kipre was essentially two-footed, but the Ajayi /Bartley combo has rarely worked.

Still it's no use fielding undercooked players; it results in injuries more often than not.  (I do hope Diakite's not another in the Dike/Maja mould.)

Not much creativity and seeing the Bartley/Ajayi combination fills me with dread
Also molumby and grant starting shows how weaker this team is to the one that finished the season
Hopefully cc is easing diakite into things and trying to be more solid has we are away
No chair for them is great
Dykes on the bench, I always think he looks a handful given the right service I’d happily have him on a free has an option
I’m not being negative but can’t see us scoring or keeping a clean sheet

Win, lose or draw and still that is an awful team selection. I doubt anyone wouuld have picked that team. Worrying signs I am afraid!!!

Centre back pairing is my biggest concern as Bartley isn’t a left sided defender end of, other than that can see Carlos’s rationale with holding back new signings.

Guess he has to give him a chance, plus Dobbins only arrived a few days back.

I'm more optimistic than most of the doomsters. As for the team today, half of the new recruits have only been at the club for a few days. Let's get behind them.

Just look how weak that bench is.

Todays squad is the sort of team we would have sent to an away Carabao Cup game last season against League two opposition.
