Is Townsend responsible for all our faults? He wasn't the player that missed any of the 4/5 chances saturday, he didn't concede the penalty or leave the smallest player on the pitch to  have a free header for Leicesters second goal.
We know he isn't great but our faults are collectively not singular.

Never claimed he is responsible for all our faults, he's just a particularly poor footballer and proves it week in week out. The second Leicester goal came about because of his shocking defending and he played their bloke on for the first goal by being in no mans land at the far post, yet again. Ergo, in my very humble opinion, he needs to be dropped.

As an aside, I was also advocating Diangana and Bartley missing out because of poor performance, but feel free to just focus on Townsend  ;)

We really need to go in with some momentum look at what happened to Boro last season, think we need to win last 2 games. Obviously the job isn't done yet too

An early goal is key here, quite the crowd down

I've wanted Reach at LB for a while glad others getting on board I feel like he's better than Townsend defensively and going forward he is okay but Townsend isn't that good going forward so no loss at all

Furlong has deffo been most improved recently, Grady is inconsistent 1st half poor, 2nd half was much better

I think he means Sheffield Wednesday. They came back from two down with a couple of late goals at home against Norwich earlier this month.
It doesn't matter how many resources you have.
If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.

Townsend cannot start for us again this season if we want to get promoted. Think everyone can see what I’ve said for a long time now; he’s terrible
some people really do have it in for certain players! Townsend does make positional mistakes but then is very good getting forward. You now want Reach in that position who has been lambasted ever since he came to the club!

Townsend is not very good at getting forward at all. Massive misconception

3 assists in 40 games isn't great, even worse when comparing him to other left backs in the league. If Reach was beaten as easily as he was on Saturday this forum would have exploded.

Historically under Corberan, that is the kind of team we don't do too well against. Hopefully our quality will prevail.

They’ve sold out 3 parts of the ground and discussing with the safety council the possibility of maybe having tickets in the stand below our fans.

Don't think there'd be much in the way of safety if they agree to that, talk about inviting incident. Rarely a good idea.

That's as well as may be but we all know who he is and we all know what he did. 'The List' if it exists would have him with the letters DVB after his name like some kind of a degree qualification. There are degrees and there are degrees.

oh I know what he did...appalling decision that cost us a play off final place (although it was one of many awful decisions he made that day).

My only surprise is that he had absolutely nothing to do with the following quote from Chris Wilder.........

"Seven cameras haven't picked it up - the most technical league in the world - everything we see at every angle and it hasn't seen a goal.

"We went to Tottenham last year, John Lundstram's big toe was offside and I was hanging around in the pouring rain for 10 minutes waiting for a decision. I don't understand why I can't wait 10 minutes in Birmingham.

"The statement has come out and it is unprecedented, unbelievable."

...... for the record the ref that day was Michael Oliver, the fourth official was Chris Kavanagh and on VAR they had Paul Tierney with Constantine Hatzidakis as his Unable Assistant. 'The List' would remember them if it existed even if it had difficulty spelling the last one's name  ;) .

I would have thought they would be offered to us, due to us selling out the top half.

Keeping the ball out of our net will go a long way to a positive result. Taking our chances instead of missing them will be another way. Can we do this Saturday?

I’m in the camp of Townsend out and pretty much have been since he kept Gibbs out the side on occasion. Positionally he is horrendous and going forward his errors far outweigh his positive so I disagree massively. So many over hit and under hit crosses and he gives the ball away when we attack which puts us on the back foot often.

He had a purple patch - It was a long time ago.

If he’s picked I’ll be right behind him in support and I don’t question his effort and work rate but where Furlong has improved this season, Townsend has stagnated and is past his peak.

I’m 100% sure he’ll start  :D

Wednesday will be fighting like tigers and it will be a very tough game with, I suspect, them high pressing. Playing out from the back at walking pace could be dangerous and maybe better to use the long ball which may create opportunities.
If we play as well as we did against Leicester, we should get at least a point but perform like we did in the previous games to that and we’ll lose.
