Even 2 pre season friendlies in, you are getting an idea of the players he may prefer.

Button might have the gloves in Ismaelâ€™s mind at the moment. The fact he has started in both games with the first choice defence possibly means he has an edge, although Palmer still has a chance.

Also looks on early viewing that Kipre and Oâ€™Shea are behind Ajayi and Bartley, although that could easily change.

Itâ€™s a bit of a shame to see Rico Richards drop out as I hoped he might make an impression this pre season but it looks like he will have to wait for now. Instead it will be the academy defenders and Castro who might be getting more opportunities from the start of the season.
