We always park on the soccer 5 a side place and go in there, decent pie and a pint, loads of screens with the footy on and only a 5 minute walk to the away end, mixture of home and away fans but never any sign of trouble and very family friendly too

Good to know thanks, my son's first away game so looking forward to this one!

Murphys touch is poor. Once again Harper looks the best player. No urgency, and no drive with the ball. Holgate and Gibbs need to be further up the pitch.

Do they have commentary, sound etc when they show stuff on the screens?

I think livermore hasn't done too bad, feel he would benifit with a mobile player alongside. But defensively Hegazi looks woeful.

Taking Barnes off and not addressing a midfield that was clearly losing the battle cost us.

Boro deserved the result. We need to learn lessons from this.

Think some comments are harsh at best, down right ridiculous at worst. I think not sorting out the backroom staff  till late on is affecting us. Jones has probably only had  1 or 2 sessions with the team. You can see he is trying to influence things, and help Darren Moore.

To be calling for his head is ridiculous. Once Thursday is out the way, so we know what we have and can settle, and he has had a run of games, then it's time to judge.

Everyone expecting miracles is crazy, he braught the club back together, at least give him the decency of a fair crack at it.

Will he be available for forest? God I hope so...

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Who's starting to become resigned

Don't post often more of a reader but just thought I would share how I feel about it all. Supported west Brom since childhood so about 25 years, and spent most of that living in Wolverhampton so as you can imagine I'm getting some stick at the moment.

The sad thing is I now have a son, who is six, and I remember my first game being such a magical experience. The sad thing is I actually feel like I don't want to take him as our situation is so awful, and I don't just mean the fact we are bottom. I can live with that if the boys had been putting a shift in and we weren't good enough, it's everything else.

The make do signings.
The mismanagement.
The fact we are a laughing stock.
The twats on the radio saying what a mess we are.

How all that building from the first 3 or 4 seasons of the premier league seem wasted.

When we first came into this league I used to revel in beating teams like QPR who thought they could walk all over us, and we did it our way. Now we seem to to deserve everything that's coming, as a club at least (The fans deserve better!)

It's a sad time at the moment. I really hope they sort it out in the summer. I don't even want us to go out and spend millions like fosun for instance. That's not us. I just want us to start doing things our way again. The Albion way.

I don't think its right to call fans mr boring just because they arn't screaming their heads off. I'm a fan and cheer and clap but its not in  my nature to start bellowing out every song sung on the terraces. I think you have to accept people will support the team in their own way.

Lived in wolverhampton since I was 10 and supported albion without any influence or family ties. Think at the time it was to give 2 fingers to the wolves supporting teaching staff, but when I Got to go to my first game soon after and Andy Hunt scored a hat trick in a 3-2 win over reading I was hooked!

Do you not think that's because half the premier league is linked with the same 'half decent players' and despite you probably thinking it's because we don't have any ambition/are tight/always look for the cheap option blah blah blah the fact is that pretty much every club outside the top 6 will be looking at the exact same players we are. So unless we massively overpay (and yes that's overpay, not pay the market rate) we don't have a particular pull to attract these players e.g pay silly wages, have the pull of London, have a sugar daddy bankrolling us. So if we are linked with 12 'half decent players' the chances are we might sign one of them and if we do that then that is about right.

The club, being the idiots they are, then move on to player B (or the 'really rubbish' players as you describe them) on their hit list once option A has moved elsewhere.  Here again we will maybe be linked with another 12 players and this time sign 3 out of the 12. Then we move on to position C (or the 'dregs' as you put it) and sign 3/4 of them to complete our summer business.

Of course after all that is done and we line up with these bunch of no hopers we finish 11th, 10th 8th get relegated every season, thoroughly embarrassing ourselves in the process whilst every other club laughs at us because they identified the 7 players they wanted to sign and had them all photographed in their new kits holding a club scarf by the 1st of July. On the other hand we had to get some bloke we didn't even rate (but he was free so naturally we signed him anyway because that's what we do) and because our kit was only made a year ago hasn't even been made yet he had to do the photoshoot in his pants.

When I grew up I dreamt about us keeping hold of Peschisolido ahead of teams in the league below us. I hoped one day we might compete near the top of the Championship without having to sell our best players every single season just to stay afloat. Then we got promoted from nowhere and I had to pinch myself, I dreamt we might somehow, despite us having no real right to, establish ourselves as a premier league club. At no point did I ever think I would see players like Kanu, Anelka etc playing for us. I never thought England would not only take our manager but our TD as well because they wanted him to oversee the change in English football. I never thought we would get close to 8th place, let alone finish in upper mid table 3 seasons on the bounce.

So I'm genuinely interested as to what your dreams are, because seeing us win at Old Trafford, Emirates, Anfield etc whilst hammering the wolves season in season out with a team bought for next to nothing (which is all we can afford) surpassed all of mine from 15 years ago, and even 5 years ago. If you had said to me even 3/4 years ago we would be paying people like Lescott £60k a week I would of laughed at you.

Yes there's perfectly legitimate reasons to criticise JP and others at the moment but I'm sick of reading the same old drivel that has been spouted for 4/5 years now based on seemingly nothing more than people wanting to moan & critise for the sake of doing so. Not a dig at you but the same criticisms (tight, cheap, no signings, why are we so rubbish in the transfer market etc) were being said last year, and the year before that, and the one before that, and the one before that and last season apart we did some amazing things that we are unlikely to repeat. People may as well copy and paste the same thing on here each July.

I'm sure if we were playing Football Manager then your way of doing things would work out just great but unfortunately thats not how it works in real life. I see people slagging us of for trying to sign players like Hutchinson, Hibbert, Amelia despite there being no real link to them. If you are going down that route why not praise them for trying to sign Rodwell and Richards?

If we line up with a defence containing Hibbert & Hutchinson as our only signings I'll be very worried, but I won't critise because I'm sure people said exactly the same when we signed GMac. If we then get relegated with them conceding 100 goals in the process then I will be criticising JP, Burton, Garlic and anyone else I think may have been involved in such a horrendous decision. Until then I'll continue to back the people in charge who have (to me at least) proven over the past 5/6 years they know exactly what they are doing (and note that doesn't mean they get everything right, every time) and have given me experiences supporting the Albion I never thought I would see. So we will see what happens when the window closes, and then again at the end of the season, but until we actually do/don't sign anyone I bet I enjoy myself more than you do sh*tting yourself we have only signed 2 players (who cost almost £30m between them 3 years ago) 2 days after the window opened. And no it's not blind faith, following like sheep, thinking JP is the messiah, its the fact that in the last 5 years we have had 4 brilliant seasons and 1 poor one. Most teams would kill for 1 brilliant one and 4 poor ones in the same period.

I'm an avid reader of this site and never post but the above post is a brilliant summing up of the situation. I applaud you sir.

Sunderland fans are livid on their forums. He sometimes may be work shy but from what i've read/seen for myself he is the game changer we need to link the midfield and attack. I think yes he may be abit workshy but thats why we have a squad, and it will push Morrison, Dorrans, Brunt to try and win their places. The competition for attacking places is really healthy now.

On a seperate Anichebe note, I was speaking to a season ticket holder at everton and he thinks he should have started most games above jelavic and never got a fair run, he seems to be more of a worker bee for the likes of sess and anelka to play off. A rich mans MAF for me.

And I dont know what to make of amalfitino but if he can get the supply in to anleka/anichebe they are big lads so afew headed goals should come.

coyb!

I cant believe people dont want us to get into europe. I thought that was the point? i can see us having a harder time in the league but I would sacrifice that for a shot at the big time. It might be  the only chance we get so why the hell not. coyb
