You’re missing my point ,where we are in the table now is where we should be,so “punching above our weight” is saying we should be a mid table team which just is y true ,and I would argue the reason our attacking players aren’t as efficient is because the way the manager sets us up hence why I used the second half as an example sitting 11 behind the ball against a team that are struggling big time!
No I think we are going ok after the Lai fallout.
We’ll have to agree to disagree as that’s what this forum is all about. Opinions.
I’m out of this discussion with you,

I find it remarkable that people use the phrase “we’re punching above our weight”how exactly ,our squad should be in the top 6 just like basically every pundit and commentator says!people forget we’re in the championship not the premier league, for example today we’re playing hull who haven’t won for 6 ,like us before the game !start off on front foot causing them problems score quick 2 then for some reason ,then we shut up shop after the break against hull. not Man City ,it’s just asking for problems
Not talking about Hull, I’m talking about our league position. And I’ll say it again, we are in a massive transitional phase as a club.
So where do you think we should be? Top 2?
I’m happy as things stand given our lack of goal scoring options

I agree with all of that. Particularly the bits I've 'emboldened'.
Thank you mate.
We are 4th in the table and in a massive transitional phase for the club.
I just don’t get the instant success mentality personally.
Yes Carlos isn’t perfect and his substitutions are still bizarre but we are punching above our weight IMO

It's a great pity that criticism, constructive or otherwise, is frowned on by some who think that they must defend the Club, Manager, or Player when they clearly make a mistake or perform poorly.
The only reason that we take them to task is because we support them and want them to be successful.
If Zippy wants CC sacked it is because he believes he sees justification for it.
If I want to see messrs Wallace , Diangana, and Swift banished because they are not worthy of a shirt, then I don't have to prove it, but in my mind I question if those who offer support to those three actually pay to go and watch them?
We have many forum members who seldom if ever post on here but seemingly enjoy watching "the banter",
Come on ...................join in express your opinion.............but don't take the "holier than thou" stance.
We are all in this together.
COYB
Taking you up on that.
I believe Carlos has enough credit in the bank for what he’s done, for now.
We aren’t ready to go up, we’d get smashed.
That said something isn’t right and he needs to find a solution.
After the start we had to the season I’m just mystified as to what’s going on.

People need to settle down. We are undergoing a huge transition as a club  and yes we’ve hit a dip in form on top of that.
Fans calling for Carlos’s head? Are you serious?
We are in the top 10 .
Overperforming from a table position perspective.
If we make the play offs then so be it and if we don’t then it ain’t the end of the world.
1 sideways square pass that was misplaced is all that happened.

We need a Super Bob, an Andy Hunt or a Scott Dobie just to put our build up play in the onion bag.
That’s no disrespect to Maja but we are still light up top.
Hence the recent 0-0.s and our scoring ratio…

I’m going to say it again
We’ve hit a dip in form - understandable as that opening runof results was never going to continue
Look at where we are and where the club is heading in the long term.
People calling for his head- OMG.
This isn’t about promotion, it’s about transition into being a sustainable club after the mess that Lai & Co left us in.
Letting Carlos go would be a huge mistake.
Wind your necks in…

It’s a dip in form for sure but nothing to go making drastic decisions over.
Yes there’s been some odd subs.
Yes Carlos isn’t perfect and not beyond criticism at all.
However, he got this club out of the brown stuff and for that alone I for one am 100% in his camp.
Also worth noting that some of our first teamers have not been performing recently either….

I'll answer this one just in case he misses your question. No. He isn't being serious. And he isn't calling for Carlos's head either.
Apologies if I read something different to you mate in case you know him personally.
If it was an ironic post then it was lost on me….
Didn’t read that way.

Corberan out. Useless , tactically myopic, terrible substitutions, what are we doing?
Are you actually serious? And who would do better?
From the turbulence of the last few years and where we are is still massively overachieving.
It’s a 0-0 draw from a team that came to get it.
Utterly amazed you’re calling for his head

Yep it might not be pretty and they will be physical also.
One Maja chance is all we need and I’d take a 1-0 all day long.

He is trying but doesn’t produce

Johnston needs to replace him asap if we are interested in winning games
That sounds a little harsh after his much improved form of late since the beginning of the season.
Respect your opinion though, that’s what this forum is about.

RIP to Mark though

A truly horrific day for everyone, condolences and love to the family

I’m angry at how bad the response at SW is, this needs investigating  >:(
It’s a disgrace. It’ll be swept under the carpet too.
I’m on the other side of the world however this has hit me hard.
Not about me though, I really feel for the family and those around who witnessed this.
Result means nothing, there are things much bigger in life

That was the worst game of my life. I don’t really have the words to describe quite how I feel.

The response of the stewards and the medics was quite frankly disgraceful.

Those stewards had no methods of communication, could not call for any help and stood and watched as our fans held sheeting around one of our own as some supporters performed CPR.

It was at least a period of 10 minutes until any support was received. Fans booing, begging the game to be stopped and finally resorting to chanting “stop the game”

We had fans try to enter the pitch to bring attention to the matter who were then carted out by at least six stewards at a time.

Eventually, we received some support. But this was not after the paramedics dawdled their way infront of the leppings lane.

That game should have been paused. How can a game of football continue whilst someone receives CPR whilst lying on the steps across several rows?

The support arrived, but it was far far too late - that will be one of the reasons why Mark has lost his battle tonight.

My heart breaks for his children who had to stand and watch that. It breaks even more when the reaction of those you rely on to keep you safe was so ******** poor.

The lord is your shepherd.

RIP

Mate I was watching it Down Under and it was clear as day something was very wrong.
I can’t believe some of our fans got kicked out for trying to do what the ref and SW should have already been doing.
It’s an utter disgrace and yet because it’s not Premier League, will we see or hear anything done about it ? Will we F
Huge condolences to the family and I couldn’t care less about the result.
That ground ……

Sign of a decent team when you don’t play well second half and still get the 3 points.
I’ll take that.

I think we all need to have a bit of perspective.

At the beginning of this season the majority of us were worried about relegation not making the play-offs. We had a delinquent owner and no money to spend.

Fast forward 9 months, we have a new owner and we were 45 minutes away from Wembley. The game tonight changed on one moment and that was Grady’s mistake. He (diangana) had a poor game all night and we needed someone stronger in the number 10 position this evening, away from home in a do or die game.

If we win tonight 0-1, CC is a genius and that’s what he was playing for because we don’t have a striker that’s going to get us 20+ goals a season and have been incredibly unlucky with the Dike and Majia situations.

Given what he’s had to work with, Carlos has done a brilliant job and exceeded all expectations. Let’s give him the opportunity to bring in some of his own players before jumping to conclusions. This is the best, young, innovative manager we could hope for. He knows this league and he knows what is needed to get out of it.

Top post mate 👍

Had my dinner down here, got a bottle of red on the go and quite relaxed. Hoping our game is better than Norwich vs Leeds.
Expecting a cauldron at the Shrine as the 12th man,
As long as we show up this afternoon then no complaints from me despite what happens,
We have a brighter future ahead and we haven’t said that for a few years now.

Patel has sensibly not disrupted things behind the scenes after all we are in a good position in the league and why create unnecessary drama?

However when the season draws to a close decisions need to be made and quickly. The play-off final is the last week of May and the new EFL season starts 10th of August with the PL starting a week latter. In any event players contracts expire 30th June and we will be in pre season training from 1st July.

The club has a huge task regardless of the division we are in. I hope that Patel beefs up the backroom staff starting with a DoF who should be lined up sooner rather than latter. In any event there needs to be a frank discussion between Owner and Head Coach particularly if as is likely we are in the Championship.

The nature of the project is about to change. We won't have a top 6 wage bill next season and that does have a significant impact on the playing squad that the coach will be working with. I fear that Corberan will be lobbying hard to retain some of the veterans that are out of contract and Patel should resit that even on short contracts with much reduced terms.

The rebuild has to start this summer it cannot be delayed even at the expense of a couple of painful seasons and Corberan needs to sign up for that at the outset.

Common sense post as always Standaman.
Pivotal summer coming up regardless of what league we are in.
