If they had anything about them regards getting out of this league they'd go and get Colin from Cardiff...

Might be Lenny Henry.
obviously Thierry isn't aware that our illustrious neighbours have won the European Cup.
I wonder if they mentioned it at the interview?

Lenny Henry is a baggie, so he would get my support as AVFC boss!

Same goes for McCarthy who is also out of work. The start Ipswich have had has shown what a decent job he did their with no money. He did more than enough when given a bit more to spend at Wolves to get them promoted (albeit ten years ago). They could do a lot worse given the position they're in however there is absolutely no way their ego's would allow it. Failing that they could go all out for another Championship manager, a Dean Smith or Chris Wilder depending on how much money they're willing to throw at it.

Last seen communicating with Alan Ball over his availability as assistant manager via an Ouija board outside Bodymoor Heath  ;) .

Good appointment for them. Hopefully the inclusion of John terry in the agreement, rather than his usual right hand man, and with terry having friends in the changing room, might cause a few issues.

Superb appointment and one that I would have loved here if I'm being perfectly honest.

However, the Terry appointment as assistant coach has threw me a bit. I really think that will, at some point, undermine him as the manger and main man at the Club.

Time will tell...

Smith while a seemingly decent man manager is seemingly a small cog in a much larger wheel. Their statistical model is something Villa just do not use, and it is not something you can pick up over night. However, it may be a clever piece of thinking from the Villa owners should they fail to get promoted this season. Once they'd been turned down by every other manager they'd approached, the Smith appointment looked the most likely. Their weird obsession with John Terry I cannot fathom.

The appointment I was dreading. Hopefully it's an unmitigated disaster for him there, but I doubt it.

They've also brought in Jesus Garcia Pitarch, former Director of Football for Valencia and Atletico Madrid.

Me too. Brentford played good football given their resources.  I fear that Dean Smith will get the best out of the players that Villa splashed out on in previous seasons.  (At least Gueye and some others have gone)

Being ultra critical he’s never actually achieved an end goal of promotion whilst playing good football and being free flowing, obviously all managers have flaws but the amount of points Brentford have gave away in the last 15 mins of games the last few seasons is staggering. For me he’s okay when his teams play well they’ll win most games, but doesn’t affect a game to grind a result out. I’d argue Brentford’s performances have been better than ours thus far but still yet to win away from home for instance. If I was a Brentford fan I wouldn’t be too disappointed and would be confident of upgrading on Smith.
