Swansea have appointed Carlos Carvalhal - days after leaving Sheffield Wednesday

Third time lucky for the Swansea who finally get the man they wanted.

And he won't be enough to keep them up.

3-1 to Arsenal
It is not the taking part, but the winning that counts.

This is either a master stroke from way out of left field or ineptitude on an Alan Irvine scale.

I don't think it's either really. He got Wednesday to the play offs twice and plays a reasonable style (I think). It looks a better appointment than Bob Bradley anyway and about as good as Swansea could have made in the circumstances....will be close to miraculous if he keeps them up though.

If he's not going to keep them up they might as well have stuck with Clement until the Summer.

They are playing the fresh approach and fresh voice card but probably a bit late. Clement may be a decent coach and a decent bloke but he really doesn't come across as very inspiring. Being in wales I've heard a lot of his pre and post match stuff and it's pretty tedious to say the least.

The fresh approach they have taken appears to be to bring in a manager who has ultimately failed in the Championship (getting Wednesday to the play offs is hardly success), not exactly inspiring either though.

Not claiming it's a master stroke - you did mention Alan Irvine though.

In fairness to Carvahal there's some similarities between him and Irvine; both got Wednesday to the play-offs. I seem to recall Carvahal's career was quite poor up until Wednesday where he re-invented himself as a manager for some of that time.
Personally I think he will fail, which would be very beneficial for us.

Mo Salah. Incredible run of form he's in. Aside from De Bruyne who is the leagues best player, he's leading the rest of the pack.
