Given our financial position I am surprised we have even been able to make this addition to the squad. I came into the window  anticipating that we would sell rather than buy. Bringing forward the TGH deal may have helped and the lack of sales might just indicate a lack of interest in our players.

I always thought Weimann was a good player at this level. I can see him working for this team and it is a loan to the end of the season so we are not committed to the player long term.

Yes and yes! That's what he calls himself so not sure why you would question it.

It does make sense on paper, but as the man said, football is played on grass, and Albrighton made sense on paper too.  We shall see.

Andreas ist one of a few names, at least here in Austria, where more often than not the diminuitive is used in all but the most formal settings. Anton, Dietmar and Johann are a few more that I can think of off the top my my head.

We don't hear much of a Matthew Philips running down our wing either do we? 😛

Anyway, not the most exciting signing but let's hope he can make some positive contribution until the end of the season.

I think he'll chip in with a few goals from the bench and offer maybe something different as he's generally done well against us over the years.
Scoring from the bench is certainly different and requires fantastic accuracy.
If youre going to get told off, get told off for doing something not for doing nothing..

Just watched his short inverview. He says their was an issue with his contract and a clause, so I suspect if he played any more for City he may have triggered a new contract, which meant they wouldn’t play him any more. Hope his agent slipped us that info and made our bargaining position stronger.

Just another 30 something player that we didn't need. We desperately need some youthful energy.

Didn't see the point in signing himself but he's here so will back him while he is.

In an interview he said he's playing to try and win a permanent deal here, based on today he's miles off but it's not down to me sadly.

I read that earlier and my heart sank. We really should be looking at players under 25.

That would require effort from our fat cat executives. Not happening.

Yes, he described him as "exceptional", which seems more than a little overstated.

Wow. I knew he was ill earlier in the week but that's a far reach by anyone's standards

If CC made that comment of his performance as "exceptional"  then it is a  genuine worry and one would have to re-evaluate the esteem of which some bestow on him..

Wouldn’t surprise me if he did say that. Any experienced player who works really hard off the ball is “exceptional” in his eyes.

There’s no way we’ll ever get some good young attacking players under this manager when most of the time all they’re asked to do is 30-yard sprints to get back behind the ball.

Fan reaction to the Weimann signing was predictable and disappointing at the same time. He’s old, slow, technically limited and doesn’t do anything any of our other attacking players don’t already do.

unfortunately, that's not the yardstick for being competitive in this division.
To put this into perspective, we have signed a 32 year old on the periphery of a team languishing 15th.
They have subsequently replaced him with a promising young talent  8 years years his junior, in Scott Twine.
I know we have limited funds available, but this abysmal recruitment transcends our current financial position.
I am finding it incredulous, how anyone can defend the recruitment at the Albion
While keeping a straight face.
