Booked time off for this one - a rare ground that I've never seen us play on so looking forward to it.

It would be nice to see Foster in goal by then................... ;)

I'd say it will be a mix of both. Dawson is involved in the first tem set up and the friendly was arranged as part of the deal to sign him.

Not surprised to see the majority of the first-team players being saved for Southampton on Wednesday, although I am slightly surprised to see Steven Reid included in the squad tomorrow alongside some of our younger players.

It is interesting to see that George Thorne has not been included in this squad, as it suggests that Roy Hodgson rates him highly enough to include him in the squad with some of our more well-known players for the Southampton game.

Not surprised by the squads really, a mix of kids and generally out of favour first team players. The only name that stands out is Steven Reid but could have to be playing because of a lack of players in his position? Could also be as he couldn't play the last tour game and maybe they want him to have 90 minutes and it's easier to give him that at Rochdale than at Southampton.

Interesting to note that with this being billed as our reserve squad, and all the other youths from the US tour moved into it, that Thorne once again is with the first team.

Well noticed! It could mean Hodgson is very serious about using Thorne next season. Then again, Miller is also with the '1st team' squad to face Southampton and I'd be surprised if we saw him playing for us in the Premiership next season. Reid on the otherhand is a player we all expect to be a regular next season, but he's been thrown in with the 'reserves'.

I think he a midfielder mate - although I see why you would think he was a striker considering he got a hat-trick in the previous game.

Tonights team from another site.....L.Daniels, Reid, Dawson (D.Daniels58  Garmeston 78), Downing (Turton 84), Gayle, Sawyers (O'Sullivan), Mantom, O'Neil, Roofe, Wood, Bednar....Unused Sub Keily

When you see that team against a team close to promotion to the Championship last season having got the double over promoted Southampton, perhaps makes this result, not acceptable, but more understandable.

L Daniels - Did well, no chance with any of the goals. Good handling.

Reid - Below par, very disappointing from a player of his stature, he should be looking a class above his teammates really.

Dawson - Did ok but partly at fault for first goal.

Downing - See Dawson.

Gayle - Not great, although I think he was played out of position as he's a right back?

Sawyers - Steady, although created little.

Mantom - Tidy, did simple things well although didn't stand out as much as I thought he would.

O'Neil - Our MOTM for me, made us tick. Good engine, reads the game well and has good vision.

Roofe - Threatened on occasions but understandably struggled against League One defenders.

Wood - Worked hard, fed off scraps but didn't do a lot with the ball when he had it.

Bednar - rubbish. Turns as fast as a double decker. Please get rid.
No no, no no no no, no no no no, no no shots on target.......

Donovan Daniels came on as a  sub, looked solid for the short time he was on but had a run beating a few players and looked to have pulled his thigh and went off, unfortunate as he had slotted in well. Was a bit disappointed with Dawson, thought he should have done a lot better for the first goal and he had the nerve to blame Daniels afterwards. Bednar absolute joke to be honest.

Liam O'Neill, best player on the pitch for us, outshone Mantom in midfield and always looked as though he wanted the ball and not afraid to put his head on it.

Man of the Match though was their number 12 who scored the 3rd goal, saw his name on a team sheet but no idea what it said, sounded French.

Lovely pies but price of beer in the bar a joke.  :o

He played here on Iceland earlier this summer few games and Gayle also, for Víkingur Reykjavík, and they are nowhere near the likes of Hurst and Mantom. They looked like average Iceland teenagers but maybe that was because some sort of a settling into area thing or language, also they didn't stop here for a long time.

But for me it been fantastic to see players in our youth systems, like Allieyu, K Brown, Roofe, Gayle, Hurst(was Portsmouth player when he came to Iceland,  then bought by us) and also Sam Mantom..

Hurst is the player I believe to have the most talent, he is fantastic when he was here.

Thanks for that. Always wondered how are players got on while they were over there - obviously it's difficult to find out reports as there isn't any coverage. Disappointing that Roofe and Gayle didn't do better, I think Hurst has great potential though. A lot of premiership clubs seem to loan out their youngsters to Iceland, it seems an effective system for progressing their games.

Just seen the goals on SSN. Don't know what Dawson was doing for the first goal - very poor. Reid's must be rusty because his tackle that gave away the penalty was useless. The third was just typical West Brom defending.

Well West Brom has been very active recently as five players from our youth academy have played here last two summers. West Brom have also taken several Icelandic players on trial, at least 4-5 players I think I'm correct, last 2-3 years. Bjorn Sigurdsson from Lillestrom is one of them very very good player.

Just had a look at him-  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJiAcgeSQwo

Looks very good, extremely quick. Must be good to be the youngest player in Iceland's under 21 team.

Don't think we have had an Icelandic player since Lárus Sigurðsson.

Set off at 5:30 from Rowley Regis did not too tod bad considering traffic, just walking upto the ground and surprise surprise we are 1 nil down.  The highlight of the night the steward coming over to me asking me if i wanted 1 of those book thing's, I did not have a clue what she was going on about to be fair mush! However i did ask where the programme seller was about 10 minutes before, so prusume it was something to do with that.. haha

There fans enjoyed the result but they were hoping to see the likes of Odemwingie and Mulumbu etc so were let down by Albion fielding a team where only 1 player will play first team next season (Steven Reid).

Enjoyed the 'new' ground but the match was just men against boys with our two senior pros Reid and Bednar both shocking in their lacklustre , couldn't be arsed aproach.

Their forward Akpro ripped our backline to shreads at times with disappointing displays from the likes of Mantom and Dawson (a Dale fan told me he was a real 'Prem player' pre match!).

Surprised how many Baggies made it (250 ?) with a couple of coaches also travelling - knew a lot of faces as the real die-hards turned out.

The younsters like Roofe tried to play decent football but were no match for the more powerful and pacey Dale team. Just wish we had sent a few of the regulars to strengthen the team give the locals a bit more to view.
BRING BACK THE MIGHTY CRADLEY HEATHENS !
