Two of the infamous ITK on twitter have both said the deals off, Sooty has since deleted his tweets.

I’ve seen a few people say its not been a good day negotiation wise. Taken it all with a pinch of salt but it does make you wonder that nothings been announced by now there must still be complications.

I’d put good money on it being our insistence on him keeping some of our coaches on his team as opposed to his own group.

I’ve always said O’Shea gets an easier ride cause he’s come from the academy, but if we are being honest he’s a lower end championship/top half league 1 centre back in reality.

Has his positives but overall he’s an average centre back. When the whole squads fit I’d be going with Kelly and Ajayi. O’Shea would be better suited to being a right back in this league.

On paper I actually like the idea of Morris.

Experience at youth level, assistant at champ and prem level. Highly rated.

But for me we should only be ‘gambling’ on coaches like him/Carrick etc if they had a solid foundation above them, a DoF pulling in the same direction, we don’t have that and I fear he’d get thrown under the bus at the first opportunity by the senior players in the squad.

Corberan could work but we’d have to limp through to The World Cup and let him use that time to get the team fitter.

Quite frankly we just need someone who is capable of keeping us up.

I’d still be looking at Edwards or Schumacher tbh.

I’d take the Morris rumours with a pinch of salt. We saw how quick Keane and Rowetts odds dropped after a couple £5 bets.

If Morris was to come with Rosenior, that would be a little more appealing. Would be a HUGE handle though.

Still think it’ll be Corberan personally, limp through till World Cup break then use that as a mini pre season to get players fitter and drilled.

Solid overall yesterday.

He’s faced 13 shots on target and saved 12, nearly as many as Button saved all season!

The fact it’s took so long this season for him to get a chance is criminal. Defence looks a lot more confident with a keeper who is half decent behind them.

Singing pslam23 at the end will do him no harm either  ;)

At the time I just thought he’d be a squad player to plug some gaps with injuries, but considering how long he’s had put he’s stepped in and looks comfortable.

Forming a good partnership with O’Shea and looks like nailing that position down.

Fair play to him.

I very much think it’s wishful thinking.

Maybe JP has come back for another go?   ;D

Edit: just had a look on twitter, it’s not coming from any reliable sources yet and the only thing that has actually been said is there is some movement at the top of the business. Could just well be the owner getting his house in order for a sale or he’s fed up with how the club is run and wanting to change thing up, who knows.

There was all that talk with things being set up in Jersey recently.

Yeah it’s come off the back of the daily mail article yesterday claiming there is a group that have dealings with us and have refused to speak to any of the shareholders etc. someone’s shared it and the usual “ITKs” have put 2 and 2 together and got 7

Rob Edwards seems a good choice.

Done brilliantly at Forest Green, even by Watford standards the fans were surprised he got sacked.

Bilic has already lost more games than Edwards did.

Young, point to prove, local lad and believe he still has a house local.

Schumacher and McKenna are the pick of the lower leagues but both flying with their clubs and would require compo so that writes them off.

Wilder and Dyche seen the two ‘obvious choices’

Think there’s more chance of us picking one of the Hughtons, O’Neils, Monks of the world to be honest.

Don’t trust Gourlay to go with anything long term or exciting.

Edwards, Harper and Louie Barry all at Ipswich now.

Also heard they have enquired about taking a couple of our youth lads on loan.

High intensity
Constant running
High press

There will be games where we give cheap goals away but there will be games where we slap some teams about.

We look fitter than we have done for years. Came back from behind twice. Had a legitimate goal chalked off too.

Second goal was brilliant.

Mowatt looks class.

Back VI with a couple additions and we should be there or there abouts.

Love it. Haven’t brought a shirt in years but think I will for this one.

I did just post it but then remembered someone said it's dodgy to do so? Can anyone clarify if it's ok to copy and paste it, if so i will repaste it.

Think I’m right in saying the admin are happy for you to copy and paste the story, it’s when people just post the link to the story I think annoys them…

For those that don’t have Twitter

He says he’s always been commited and been offered a life changing deal. Wants the club to be rewarded for his efforts but he also wants to leave. Says he’s grateful to the club and wants to leave in a respectful manner.

Makes for an interesting scenario, contradicts what VI has said. Can see this ending nasty.

Hope he goes because it weakens them dramatically. They can then have Pereira in the hope that he has an absolute stinker and then downs tools following their relegation.

What I would bet though is, if Grealish goes to Man City, he will automatically play more for England, even if he gets less minutes, and has less impact, for City.

Would be interesting to see how Pep plays Grealish, if he plays him out wide or keeps Foden there. If he improves him then that benefits England.

I have a sneaky feeling he might stay at villa though. I’ve seen villa fans putting money on them being top of the league at Christmas as it’s 80/1 and it’s ‘easy’ money.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the Grealish situation.

Does he go?

Seen hundreds of posts on Twitter second guessing what he will do, will he go, will he stay and build with villa.

He apparently trained today which many city fans assumed he would be in Manchester for a medical.

The one good thing from this all is, I’ve seen some villa fans already turn on him, calling him a money grabber, diver, another delph etc etc. Saw one fan call him a coward because he’s taking the ‘easy’ option in winning trophies with city which will be ‘pointless’ as opposed to staying at villa and building a legacy  ;D ;D

I wouldn’t be suprised if villa came knocking for Pereira if Grealish does leave. At prices of £40million for Cantwell, MP is much better value for money.

I hope to god he isn't as calm as he makes out with his post match comments regarding a striker. Blues were trash today and will be in trouble if they play like that. We need a striker. I'm hoping his comments were so we don't come across as desperate in the market meaning clubs won't try to pull a fast one on us.

I think he might be serious.

Grant, Grady and Robinson are arguably the best front 3 in the league. Add to that Zohore who is a championship striker, Phillips who can cover across the 3. Wouldn’t be suprised if we strengthened other areas before a striker.

I’d still be looking for a bit nasty centre forward. Diagne would work well in this team.

He will go to the vile next season once his contract has expired….it seems written to me.

That only happens if they sell Martinez, and they will want a big sum to consider selling him.

Been saying for months he’s underrated. Should have been utilised more last season too.

He’s our best striker at the moment and I think with Grant and Grady either side, with some competition on the bench, he’ll have a good season.

Ive just been on, the new kit is on their but no albion badge or puma logo, couldnt see where the customer reviews was neither??

I heard of this site last season from a newcastle pal, all the geordies use it as they don’t want to give any money to Mike Ashley.

Usually takes around 6 weeks for your item to come, the image on the website has no logo or sponsor due to legal reasons but the top you receive will be an exact copy of the official kit. Saw some of the toon ones last year and they look spot on. If you are reserved about spending 55/60 quid and don’t mind the wait then it’s the best option.

Financially it works for them they will sell Abraham this summer that fee alone will pay for 5 years of this operation. They would have to lose a good 50% of the talent and even then the better 50% of it to even dent them.

What I did not appreciate until I looked at the numbers is that the level at which the player exits is so critical at least 80% of the time that is what their professional careers look like. The thing that Chelsea hold over most of their competitors is not a pathway to the first team is a pathway to professional level career.

Looking at ourselves and if I must the Villa, too many of our academy graduates end up in non-league football.

100%.

Izzy Brown is a key example. He left us for the big move, couple loans and now he’s just got a contract in the championship.

If he stays at us and it doesn’t work out, his next contract is likely to be a league 1/2 team. You see now regarding Edwards, he hasn’t got a deal yet, but I imagine if he had just been released from Chelsea’s academy, he would have been gambled on sooner.

Dhanda is another good example, leaves us for Liverpool, doesn’t work, ends up at Swansea.

The big move might not work how they want it too, but it opens the pathway to ending up at a club like ours, but with a healthier bank balance too.

Being linked with a move to Norwich.

For the right price I wouldn’t be sad to sell, the sceptic in me wouldn’t want to just because it leaves us very short next summer with Bartley another year older and Clarke going back to Brighton.

It's really closing up for him now. There will still be clubs out there but we need to be careful not to price him out of a move. Then again, you would think there would be atleast 1 club interested given the fact it isn't a huge fee.

I still think he moves to West Ham for 10-12mil. The psg deal was just to unsettle us a bit as there ain’t many clubs he can go to. Last year of contract, once it gets to the last week of the window I think we will accept a 10mil bid with add ons.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Re: Adam Reach signs
« on: July 25, 2021, 11:47:44 AM »
Reach on a free is a good bit of business.

Can cover several positions, strengthens our bench whilst also adding some competition to the first team spots.

Think we can all agree we need some cover for Townsend, and Reach would provide that, as well as giving us a threat further forward.

Also frees up the money to sign a striker (if we ever get any money!).
