Whilst I was also hoping for Dean Smith can we cut the "proven right" stuff out please, not needed or wanted on here.

I do agree with this entirely and I do apologise, frustration just becomes extremely palpable as things play out exactly as you’d predicted them, just as they did with my Pulis predictions long before there were any other rumblings of discontent. The joys of being so passionate about a football team sadly.

Anyway, back on topic, he surely has to forego the 442 here. It just does not work for us and hasn’t done for a good number of years now.

The same could also be said for Brunt though, no creativity (other than set pieces) and no mobility, we have 4 days to sort the midfield.

We all, Jacko’s delusions aside, surely know that Brunt should be nowhere near the centre of our midfield

I hope we don't go with the 4-4-2 again but I don't expect us to make a radical departure so I suspect we might move to a 4-4-1-1 with Morrison playing behind Rodriguez.

I think Hegazi could easily be dropped from the back line if Dawson is not pining too much for the cosmopolitan delights of Burnley and could do what he is being paid to do I think that might not be the worst idea.

Midfield is a bit of a problem with no obvious solutions and I do wonder how long Moore is going to persist with a double pivot of Livermore and Brunt. I feel having Morrison playing ahead of them improves the situation but it still isn't ideal.

Striker Rodriguez but he needs to be joined more by Phillips and Barnes from the wings.

Brunt will keep his place in the middle . Him and livermore do not work. Field in the middle with mozza be better . Thats if feild not still out . We have to bounce back from that pathetic display against bolton.

For this game only (i am assuming Gayle is coming) I would replace Jrod (Mozza) Kanu (Phillips up top) and play Burke on right. As for the defence unless there is a good chance of a move, then Dawson must play

Subs. Myhill Bartley Adarabioyo Burke Barry Edwards Chadli (Harper)

that's the team I'd go for. I'd ideally like to drop Nyom as well as Bartley but Dawson & Hegazi formed a decent partnership last season and with no other obvious replacement for Nyom he'll have to stay in.

The only saving grace for us getting something out of this game will be that it is away from home and easier for Moore to set up the team to play on the counter.

Saying that, Karanka is known as being a somewhat defensive manager.

I'm going to play devil's advocate now:

Second game, yes. 44 still to go after this, yes.

But after yesterday's display, does this turn into a 'must win'? Not necessarily for points, but for confidence.

Made another blog about it. I'm getting carried away now, I know!

I wouldn't say its a MUST WIN, but its important to get some points on the board sooner rather than later. Winning breeds confidence, we need to remember majority of this team haven't won a lot of competitive matches over the last year or so.

Its definitely a game we need to at least look to come away with a point minimum.

2-1 win for the Albion.

I have faith that Moore will have learnt from Saturday and will set us up correctly with HRK nowhere near the starting line up...

I think we'll set with either 5 across the middle (Phillips, Livermore,Morrison, Brunt and Barnes) with Rodriguez up top...(or maybe Gayle if he signs today) or the same players in a 2-3-1 with Livermore & Brunt being the 2.

Why does everyone want to play the inexperienced 6 foot 5 loan centre back at right back?

Johnstone

Nyom
Bartley
Hegazi
Brunt

Phillips
Livermore
Morrison
Barnes

J Rod

Gayle

Gibbs is reportedly trying to agree going to Torino although doesn’t seem to anything mentioned in the local press.

For me Brunt at LB and Mozza in the middle provides more natural creativity throughout the the team.

I'd play Dawson at RB if this Man City kid is actually the real business. Shown he is more than capable in that position.

Johnstone
Dawson CB Hegazi Gibbs
    Livermore  Brunt
Phillips                   Barnes
       Gayle      Rodriguez

If we want to play 4 4 2 having Dawson at rigt back will allow us to be a bit more solid defensively.
