Into a European semi final when they should be where Portsmouth etc are after Dr Tony took them to the verge of administration. No other team not only gets saved in that position, but get taken over by the two of the richest blokes in the world. Ridiculous

Said it many times before, luckiest team in the world. Hate them

That’s right…in League 2  ;D

Last time BTA had a full season in League Two he got 11 goals. So what I think you’re trying to tell me is that Faal is twice the player already  ;D

3-0.

Southampton are still the side I'd prefer to avoid for me

Agreed. I’ve said it all along.

Faal scored on the weekend and again tonight. I think it makes it 13 for him this season

One more goal than BTA you say ;D

Only time I went, Jason Roberts scored the winner for us in a 1-0 I think

This is Southgate we are talking about though. Loyal is his middle name sadly

It’s true, but the form of some of our more fringe players under him is frighteningly good.

Thankfully Palmer is making it nigh on impossible not to take him.

Luckily, a lot of his favourites like Phillips and Rashford are in terrible form so he will have a job on to justify selecting them if he does

Ultimately we’ll never know, all we can go by is the stats from this season as he has played a whole lot of games in the goal scoring position to be only 3 goals more than Swift, five more than Grady and MJ etc.

The eyes don’t lie, his ability, or lack thereof is clear for anyone with footballing knowledge to see, the ball bounces off him frequently, misplaces pass after pass, misses easy chances for fun.

He was bought as a £300k squad player to fill in from the bench, its not his fault that he has been forced to play most games this season in a position that is not his natural one. To judge him as a starting champ striker is just crazy. We paid £300k for a squad player winger who has got that many goals.

If you think he has been a bad signing or not worth the money I really do give up.

How do any of us claim to know what he was signed as? Were you present in the recruitment meetings and privy to conversations the rest of us aren’t?

I’ve never said he was a bad signing, merely that he’s not very good and the team is better without him in it, which I continue to stand by, he’s a hindrance every time he starts.

Either way, we’re going round in circles somewhat.

Are you including Ken Zohore or Luke Moore in that quote, maybe brown idaye or some of the really rubbish strikers we have had in the past.

As none of them are part of our current squad, I’m not sure what any of them have to do with the argument? Strangely enough, our last two defeats have come with BTA leading the line, we were absolutely fine and unbeaten without him in the side. He has scored 12 goals after playing as the central striker in a promotion seeking team all season, Johnston has come in and scored 7 in 15 games from the wing. The bloke is just not very good, he can barely control a football which is how he got sent off yesterday after yet another awful first touch. He’s a liability when he plays.

Limited player who always tries, and he is what he is, and I've said that for long time and was gutted when we refused to sell him to stoke, but to suggest he didn't look gutted after his sending off is simply untrue.

Agreed. Rejecting £4m or whatever it was they bid for him was just crazy really as he is worth nowhere near that amount. I know people will say that would have left us without a striker all season, but I would argue we have had no striker all season with BTA up front. Anyone we stick up there would have scored a similar amount, if not more

Let down massively by Brandon in a game we were controlling really well and must be disappointed that players couldn’t defend a set piece with Townsend losing goal scorer. Second half I actually thought we would be more under cosh and can understand his substitution’s as we haven’t got a player in midfield who can create an opening.

Comes as no surprise that our two worst players cost us in BTA and Townsend. Staggering the amount of goals CT costs us by losing his man, just saw the highlights of it and they say it all, shocking touch from BTA who can’t trap a bag of sand to lead to his sending off and CT nowhere near his man.

I guess you can hold CC responsible for continuing to select them, but the players themselves have to take some responsibility and show some improvement, which neither of those pair do

Do you think those half-time subs worked? We’ve got three really difficult games coming up now. To not finish in the play offs would be absolutely terrible management.

The only criticism I can have for him today is starting BTA. Other than that, we were still holding our own despite having ten men for the entire second half

We were bound to lose sometime I wouldn't change our position with those below and not too much damage done.

Don’t think it would have been today, were it not for BTA getting sent off as Sunderland were a poor side.

Hopefully the last we see of him starting this season. Not only a poor player but an utter moronbased on those two bookings. Cost us three points today

Why oh why are we still playing out from the back against 11  they have the extra man?

Because launching it long at Ballard is precisely what they would want. Meat and drink to them.

More shots from them, this half.

I wonder why  ;D

I hope BTA is sat in the changing room disgusted with himself

We were doing fine with Wallace up front and were unbeaten. There was no need to change it, the last time we lost was against Southampton when BTA was up top and played and had another mare.

Can’t see us getting this back now. Ten men against a team like this is not where you can afford to be.

BTA off 2nd yellow.  >:(

Utterly stupid after just getting booked. Will likely cost us the game now, but don’t worry, he only cost us £300k and is learning etc

BTA should have passed to Mikey.

You can’t criticise him, he’s trying hard
