West Bromwich Albion FC / Will They Come Back Though ?
« on: November 13, 2017, 11:09:30 AM »
So many who won't go have said it's because of Pulis and the dire football.
BUT, when he goes, will they actually come back or move on to another excuse not to go ?

Not a knock on those that cannot afford to go or chose not to due to Non Pulis reasons.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Proud of the Club.....

Things really do seem to be improving PR and fanwise since the old board left.

Watch this, very uplifting :

Might be worth us keeping a thread of positivity about the aspects that make us proud of our club amid so much usual negativity (I'm just a guilty post match/ transfer window I know !!)

Looks like it will be an incredible ongoing resource of everything Albion - a real first for a major club and something we should all support and be proud of.........

West Bromwich Albion FC / The Pulis Stayaways ?
« on: September 11, 2016, 09:21:09 AM »
Not having a go as I wish I could stay away at times !

However, out of interest:

Is this just an excuse to not bother attending ?

Will you be back once he's gone to back the new regime or will it be the new excuse of 'wait and see who the new manager is ' ?

What would get you back to the Hawthorns then ?

You feel so down about the club that you actively support another professional team ?

Should be interesting and isn't it anti-competitive against clubs like us that get no help ??????

 25 APR   Liverpool H

 2 MAY Man Utd  A

 9 MAY  Newcastle A

 16 MAY  Chelsea  H

 24 MAY Arsenal  A

How many points clear would we need to be before we tackled that daunting end ????????
I'm starting to fear for us   :(

West Bromwich Albion FC / So Who Goes Next ?

Surely all of the likes of Jenkins, Garlick, Downing, Kiely plus numerous experienced players etc can't escape scot free now the latest SCAPEGOAT has gone (following the earlier Clarke dismissal) ????????????

I await the further sackings in response to such appalling mismanagement on and off the field over the past eighteen months..........

West Bromwich Albion FC / Can YOU Remember the Last WIN ?
« on: March 09, 2014, 10:41:13 AM »
We were really struggling at the game to remember us winning the Palace game - the details and how it felt to come away from a game contented and reasonably happy !   It really is a chore this season and a generally depressing experience whatching so many wasters in blue and white huff and puff and deliver so little.
Once we went a goal down yesterday YOU knew, just like most of the season, that our chances of three points were almost non-existent........we might huff and puff a draw at very best.
One man is in charge of all this constant shambles and that is the man at the top.

West Bromwich Albion FC / remaining fixtures
« on: January 11, 2014, 04:04:20 PM »
and always has been since things started to go pear-shaped and so many winnable matches slipped by IS THAT WE HAVE A MIGHTY TOUGH END TO THE SEASON so need points in hand to buffer us from that I believe.

April and May bring us the following:

05/04/2014   Norwich City   Carrow Road
12/04/2014   Tottenham Hotspur   Hawthorns
19/04/2014   Manchester City   City of Manchester
26/04/2014   West Ham    Hawthorns
03/05/2014   Arsenal   Emirates Stadium
11/05/2014   Stoke City   Hawthorns

most look tough on paper plus we still have Everton, Liverpool, Chelski and Yanited to visit the Hawthorns before that !

I think we really need to start getting three points in games like today to avoid a late relegation plunge.

West Bromwich Albion FC / Complacency ?
« on: December 07, 2013, 11:06:49 PM »
After another dire afternoon in a catalogue of 2013 poor performances, has the whole setup become really complacent similar to the likes of Charlton, Bolton etc who have looked 'Prem mid table' teams, tried to move on but then lost momentum and bombed out of the league........
Since our brilliant start last season, following on from the foundations of Roy's work the year before, so many aspects of the Club seem to have become unfoccssed, sloppy and, yes, complacent.
We limped into the new year with lastluste, low energy inconsistent from one half of football to the next type of performances. Only the brilliant talent of Lukaku seemed to light up the second half of season with so many of our usually more reliable performers Like Morrison, Brunt, Olsson and Long rarely getting above mediocrity at best. The season ended in a limp and lame run with just the 5-5 anomaly to excite -we badly needed to refresh and replace.
However, we seemed to dither and dally over the summer with the global search seemingly no more, ensuring a very unWBA like transfer deadline day to try and lift a poor listless start to 2013/14.
Things looked better and it seemed we had the tools to get back to something like last season's start. However, we still seemed wasteful and unable to kill teams off, play for two halves and Clarke didn't really seem to know his best eleven - ALL THESE THINGS THAT ARE NOW CATCHING UP WITH US NOW !!!
We all convinced ourselves that we were mid table and above relegation scraps now, squad too good (just like the afore mentioned Charltons and BOltons) and things were fine. The Yanited, Arsenal and Chelsea results only aided to mask how generally poor our results have been.
However, we need to wake up and face the facts that we are currently not good enough - three wins this season and the 2013 calendar year results are pathetic and are relegation form make no mistake.
Time for all of us to stand up as the next two relegation scraps are massive followed rapidly by the busy Christmas period which will shape our season and take past the half way stage.
Hopefully, a more positive 2014 awaits!!!

West Bromwich Albion FC / Roy's Good Habits
« on: May 12, 2013, 11:03:51 PM »
I posted around January that a lot of the discpline and drills that Hodgson had put into the team were in danger of slipping away..................I make no apologies about commenting again after SEVEN hours on the road to watch that garbage today ON TOP OF MOST OF THE LAST TWENTY odd games.

I'm not saying Clarke out BUt he must start next season much better that the ill-disciplined, self-indulgent and weak performances we are regularly putting out.

I thought the night in the Valleys last November was rock bottom until today !

* Pleased my wife persevered this morning to get the Saints tickets - already sold out online !

* Strange they are selling Citeh tickets when know one knows when it will be played !

* Will Wigan actually bring a decent amount considering how important the game is to them ?

West Bromwich Albion FC / Complacency

The club seems riddled with this at present.

From the Chairmanship with his non Transfer Window activity through the players and Coaches to even our support who just seem happy that we have had a good start despite how poor we have equally been for the other half of the season so far - maybe we are more interested in our neighbours demise ?

Seem to be ebbing away from the squad judging on the last ten games.
We are starting to look more like we did under Rdm and Mowbray as we leak poor goals and defend weakly as a TEAM. Are the training / drill seasons not up to last seasons and the players slackening off despite carrying the good habits over into the start of this season.
No panic yet but some worrying signs.
