Leeds United New Badge
« on: January 24, 2018, 01:20:19 PM »
Has anyone else seen this? I know Leeds aren't exactly popular but it's sad to see a club with history have a badge that looks like it was created using clip art on Microsoft Publisher, or something out of Pro Evo. Utterly appalling. It's even worse than West Ham's...

Ridiculous, fair to say it hasn't gone down too well with Leeds supporters either.

Can't blame them to be honest, it's utter pap.

If you don't know how to use them, they will never be enough.
Oh, and always remember to defecate on those Vile chaps in claret and spew.

They consulted 10,000 people apparently...if you believe that you'll believe anything. Although they didn't say those 10,000 were positive about it!

And although not a gambling man I'd be prepared to stick a fair wedge on it that they didn't bother to ask for feedback on the design they settled on before actually launching it. A blindfolded fool could see that thing is a load of tripe. Genuinely no disrespect meant to any passing Leeds supporters but it's just so cheap and tacky looking.

It would be very surprising if Leeds supporters  allowed this without a large protest

Awful.

Of the badges on our kits over the years, my favorite by far is the detailed throstle on the blue and white striped shield. It was much much better than the watered down, early learning version that we have now.  It seems most clubs have moved towards these badges though. I remember reading it was due to the ease and ability of transferring / placing on different media and material, both digitally and in print (including on clothing etc).   I wonder how much it helped in reality.

I for one would be up in arms if the club tried to remove the throstle bird from our badge. It's part of the club's identity. They tried the civic West Bromwich badge some years back which was a disaster.

The West Midlands village one with the pretty unicorns that is !!!!

I Hope Dr Xi (he has gone quiet hasn’t he) gets behind that initiative, certainly befits the former European champions, they were you know, in case they never mentioned it to you

A lot of our fans were really pleased to see the WBA cursive writing crest back on the away shirt a few seasons ago.

I meant the bit about the Vile being former European Champions, never heard it mentioned before  ;D .

That badge will never see the light of day.

Nothing wrong at all with their current one either I may add.

Nope, that one seems to have passed me by as well.

Shocking really given I live in the seal colony otherwise known as Erdington.

They've been fairly (and somewhat surprisingly for them) quiet for the last couple of years though.

Can't think why  ;D  ;) .

Their current badge was superb - represents colours synonmous with Leeds, their initials and also had an identity with the crest of their county. The new badge looks cheap, tacky and lacking in identity
